A stove door and window unit of the type described herein may comprise a front door panel I 0, a back door panel I 2, and a handle I. The assembled window unit 22 is adapted to fit the openings I 8 of the door panels In and I2. Flanges 46 on rims 28 are arranged to fit against the inwardly extending flanges 20 of the door panels I0 and I2, thereby locating the window unit with respect to the openings IS. Clamping means 48 may be provided on one of the panels, as shown in Fig. 6, so as to prevent any possible shifting of the window unit within the door. In the'clamping device shownin Fig'.

I claim:
1. A window unit for use in a stove door having spaced front and back door panels each having a window opening in alignment with the opening H 'ai'd'door panels having inwardly extending"'fiange around the'edge of the opening therein; said window unit comprising spaced, parallel glass panels, a continuous spacing member between said glass panels at the Lperiphery thereof and providing a seal therewhen the screw 54 is tightened.
