4 Clalma (01. 5-101) This invention relates to a childs crib and more particularly to a crib which may be made to swing when desired.

An object of this invention is to provide a swinging crib which is highly eflicient in its operation, simple in construction and economical to manufacture.

A further object of my invention is to provide such a swinging crib which can be operated from a convenient position.

Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more clearly understood from the following description and the accompanying drawings in which:

In the embodiment of my invention illustrated in the drawings, the crib comprises a frame having upright end members 5 and 6 which are connected by side bars 1-1 and supported in vertical position by means of corner bars 8-8.

The present invention provides a pair of vertical I side frames 9-9 which are pivotally mounted upon upright posts I -H] at the opposite sides of the end members and- 6, preferably by means of studs H projecting from an intermediate portion of the ends of the side frames 9-9. These studs are preferably provided with a head which fits within key slots l2 in each of the upright posts.

The said side frames 9-9 support a spring frame by means of pivotal hangers l3 which preferably include the series of loops projecting from the underside of the side members 9-9 and hook members that are secured to the side bars l4-I4 of the spring frame so that the spring frame is pivotally supported entirely by the side frames 9-9 which in turn are pivotally supported on the upright posts Ill-l0. Any suitable mattress may be placed on the spring frame for supporting a child.

It will be noted that the supporting studs II project from an intermediate point of the end portions of the side frames so that the proper portions of each side frame extends above the said studs while the lower portions of the said frames extend below the studs. This permits an operator to cause a swinging action of the spring frame by merely grasping the upper portion of a side frame and moving it back and forth as indicated in Fig. 3.

In order to permit locking of the spring frame against the swinging movement, I provide a latch l5 which is preferably pivotally secured to one of the bars 7 and adapted to engage a suitable retaining hook 16 that is secured to a side bar H of the spring.

The above described construction provides for suspending the spring frame entirely by means of side frames 9-9 and provides for easily detaching and folding the spring and the side members by merely raising the side members to remove the studs H from the key slots l2 and then folding the side members inwardly upon the spring one overthe other.

I claim:

1. A childs crib comprising a frame including upright end members each having a pair of opposite vertical tubular posts, side bars between said end members, a pair of opposite side frames, opposite projections extending from the ends of said side frames on the horizontal axis thereof and fitting within key slots in said posts for pivotally mounting the side frames to said end members, and a spring frame pivotally suspended from the lower edge portions of said side members to permit swinging movement of the spring frame.

A child's crib comprising a frame having a pair of end members each including opposite upright tubular posts, side bars inter-connecting said end members, side frames between said end members each having a stud projecting from each of the opposite ends thereof at a point intermediate its upper and lower edge portions, the said studs fitting within key slots in the upright posts and pivotally supporting the side members thereon, a spring frame pivotally suspended from the lower edge portions of said side frames whereby lateral movement of the upper portions of the side frames will cause lateral swinging movement of the said spring frame.

A child's crib comprising a frame having a pair of upright end members each including vertical tubular side posts, side bars interconnecting said end members, vertical side frames pivotally mounted between said vertical posts by pivotal connections located at each end of said frames at points intermediate the upper and lower edge portions thereof, a spring frame 10- cated' between the end members and above the side bars and pivotally suspended from the lower edge portions of the opposite side members to swing laterally, and a securing latch pivotally mounted upon one of said side bars and engageable with cooperating receiving means on the spring frame for securing the said spring frame against swinging movement.

4. Acrib comprising a' frame. including upi right end members each having a pair of vertical posts; a pair of opposite side members pivotally mounted on and between said posts on an axis intermediate the top and bottom portions of said members, and a spring frame disposed below said side members and pivotally connected 15 thereto to permit lateral swinging movement of 4. said spring frame when the said side members are rocked about their pivots.
