- jgippiication April 21,195Q,Seria1 No.157,315 v. 2'Claims. (01.224-48) This invention relates to carriers for. nursing bottles and supplies for infants, and in particular a stand having a tray slidably mounted therein and also having means for suspending a nursing bottle between the ends thereof.
The purpose of this invention is to provide a carrier for babies supplies particularly for storage and transportation and which may also be set up to support a nursing bottle with the bottle suspended in an inverted position.
Various devices have been provided for supporting babies or nursing bottles whereby the bottle is suspended in an inverted position with the nipple continuously full of milk so that air is not drawn therethrough and whereas these devices are suitable for the nursery they occupy too much space to be used for traveling. With this thought in mind this invention contemplates a bottle support or holder which is combined with a kit so that diapers, baby oil and powder, cotton and cotton tips, and bottles of milk may be packed therein and the complete device carried as a unit.
The object of this invention is, therefore, to provide means for forming a baby or nursing bottle support so that a tray of accessories may be incorporated therein.
Another object of the invention is to provide a. combination nursing bottle support and carrier in which a tray of accessories carried by the support may readily be removed when the sup port is used for a nursing bottle.
Another object of the invention is toprovide a combination nursing bottle support and kit which is of a simple and economical construction.
With these and other objects and advantages in view the invention embodies a nursing bottle suspending bar carried between end panels with a tray having sides extended upwardly from a base slidably mounted on the inner surfaces of the end panel.
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description takenin connection with the drawings wherein:
Figure 1 is a view illustrating the combination bottle holder and kit with the parts assembled.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the bottle support.
Figure 3 is a side elevational view of the bottle support.
Figure 4 is a cross section through the bottle support taken on line 3-4 of Figure 3.
Figure 5 is a longitudinal section through the bottle support and tray taken on line 5-5 of Figure 1.
Figure 6 is aplan view of the tray. l
Figure '7 is;a front elevational'view'of thetray.
Figure 8 is a view showing the 'constructionan'd arrangement of the parts of the tray.
Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts the improved nursing bottle holder and kit of this invention includes a bottle supporting bar l0 suspended between end panels H and I2 and a tray having a base 13 with side panels it and it connected by rods 16 and H.
The end panels II and ii! of the bottle holder are formed with upwardly converging edges and recesses l8 and I9 are provided in th lower edges forming extending legs 29 and 2| on the panel II and. 22 and 23 on the panel 12. The bar i6 is mounted in an inclined position and a strap or other bottle holding device, as indicated by the numeral 24 is mounted oncone side of the bar and positioned intermediate of the panels H and [2. The inner surfaces of the panels H and I2 are provided with rails 25 and 26, respectively and these rails are positioned to receive the bars 16 and I1 connecting the ends of the side panels I and I5 of the tray.
The base l3 of the tray is provided with extended ends the upper surfaces of which contact the lower surfaces of the legs of the end panels H and 12 with the bars l6 and i1 positioned on the rails 25 and 26, respectively.
The lower surface of the base i3 is provided with spacing bars 21 and 28 for supporting the lower surface of the tray on the floor or other surface upon which the device may be positioned, and a bracket 29 is provided on the inner surface of one of the side panels.
With the parts arranged in this manner diapers may be packed in the tray with containers for baby oil, powder, and the like in the bracket 29 and cotton, cotton tips, bottles of milk and other containers or articles may be placed in the tray.
When it is desired to use the nursing bottle support the tray is readily removed and the bottle is inserted in the strap 22, as shown in Figure 4 and with a baby positioned below the bar the nipple is filled with milk until all of the milk is withdrawn from the bottle.
The nursing bottle support may, therefore, be used independently and the parts are assembled for storage and travel.
It will be understood that modifications may be made in the design and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit of the invention.
What is claimed is:
1. In a nursing bottle carrier, the combination which comprises a bottle holder having spaced parallel end panels with upwardly converging edges and connected with a centrally disposed longitudinally positioned bar, said bar mounted in an inclined position and having a resilient bottle carrying strap on the intermediate part thereof, parallel horizontally positioned rails mounted onthe inner surfaces of the end panels and spaced from the lower ends thereof and a horizontally disposed tray slidably mounted on said rails and having extended ends positioned below the lower ends of said end panels.
2. In a nursing bottle carrier, the combination which comprises a bottle holder having spaced parallel end panels with upwardly converging edges and connected with a centrally disposed longitudinally positioned bar, said bar mounted in an inclinedposition and having a resilient bottle carrying strap on-the intermediate part thereof, parallel horizontally positioned rails mounted tioned to slide on the said rails on the inner surfaces of the said end panels.
