My invention relates generally to racks and specifically to racks having movable hooks thereon.

It is among the objects of'my invention to provide a rack which will securely hold several.

utensils. v

It is a further object of my invention to provide a rack with a number of movable hangers thereon which will permit spacing of the utensils suspended from the rack, in accordance with their special needs.

It is a further object of my invention to provide a rack which is easily attached to a wall or other surface.

Still a further object of my invention is to provide a rack which may be firmly attached to a wall and is resistant to the distorting influences of. articles suspended therefrom.

Among the other objects of my invention is to provide a rack which is strong, easy to construct,

rack has a hanger bar or rod II, preferably formed of metal. The bar has a bend I2 along its length so that it has two sides I3, I4; These sides I3, I4 are disposed to each other at an angle of approximately 120". Thus the bend I2 forms a V-shaped rod thereby serving to strengthen the bar along its length andjalso serving to hold the hangers that ride on the bar against displacement.

The hangers I5 that ride on the bar have an upper hook I 6 and a lower hook I1 formed thereon. The upper hook has a downwardly extending leg I8 an and upwardly extending leg I 9. Likewise, the lower hook I! has a downwardly extending leg and an upwardly extending leg 2|. These two hooks are connected by a V- shaped mid-portion or area 22 which has a bend 23 as near its center from which there extends a top leg 24 and a bottom leg 25. The upwardly extending leg IQ of the upper hook I6 joins the top leg 24 of the mid-portion 22 and the upwardly 2 extending leg 2| of the lower hook I! joins thy bottom leg 25 of the mid-portion 22.

The topleg 24 and the upwardly extending 16; I9 are spaced away from each other sufficiently to allow the rod I I to be intruded between them;

upwardly extending legs I9, 2| are disposed in parallelism to each other, as will appear in Fig:- ure 4.

For attaching the rod I I to a wall or other surface, end brackets 26 are provided. The end brackets 26 are triangular so that theyv mayfit.

The back- 21 and the upper front 28 have attachment holes 29. are disposed to each other at an angle of to conform to the rod. The rod has holes 3| at each end corresponding to the holes 29 in the bracket so that an attaching nail may pass through.

When it is desired to attach my rack to the wall, the hangers I5 are slid onto the rod II. The end brackets 26 are then slid onto the rod II until the holes 29 in the brackets 26 coincide with the holes 3| in the rod I I. A nail may then be used to attach the assemblage to the wall.

Once the rack is attached, the hangers I5 will freely slide on the rod I I, but cannot be removed.

The mid-portions 22 of the hangers I5 conform to the shape of the rod II and distribute the weight of any object suspended from the hooks I6, I1 evenly on the rod. The spacing of the hangers I5 along the rod II is a matter of choice depending on the size of the objects suspended from the hooks I6, I1. I I

The angular disposition of the sides I3, I4'and the legs 24, 25 is subject to variation and is, of course, not critical. The materials of which the elements are formed may be metal or plastic, or any suitable material.

The foregoing device is intended merely to be illustrative of one embodiment of my invention. Many changes may be made in the construction, selection and arrangement of the various elements comprising my invention, all within the scope of the appended claims without departing from the spirit of the invention.

I claim:

1. A rack comprising a relatively thin V-shaped rod having substantially convex outer and concave inner sides, a hanger slidably positioned The upper front 28 and the lower front 30- on the rod, a V-shaped back portion of the hanger conforming to the inner side of the rod, and a front portion of the hanger connected to the back portion and conforming to a portion of the outer side of the rod, upwardly extending hooks connected to the front and back portions of the hanger, and a bracket extending across the back i of the rod and in engagement: with gth ei front; thereof.
