Description

Sept. 4, 1951 F. J. M. KNITEL URINAL. HAVING A FLUSHING CHANNEL THEREIN FOR DISPOSAL OF PAPER Filed March 28, 1947 Patented Sept. 4, 1951 OFFICE URINAL HAVING A FLUSHING CHANNEL THEREIN FOR DISPOSAL OF PAPER Francois Johan Marie Knitel, Voorburg, Netherlands Application March 28, 1947, Serial No. 737,785 In the Netherlands May 13, 1946 1 Claim. 1
My invention relates to a urinal and a box to be used therewith.
Some men after urinating also need the use of toilet paper. This is not possible with the existing urinals.
The object of my invention is to provide a urinal in which this need is complied with.
The urinal according to my invention is provided with means for delivering toilet paper and for taking up used toilet paper so that the urinal cannot be choked up thereby.
These means may consist of a box with a holder for toilet paper and a removable bag for taking up used toilet paper, which can consequently be simply emptied at fixed periods. Preferably the bag is present in the box and is covered by a flap lid of the box.
According to another embodiment of my invention the urinal provided with a holder for toilet paper has an open channel to the sewer for removing the used paper. Preferably the water line is then provided with a branch to this channel for removing the used paper.
My invention also includes the box to be used with this urinal which box is provided with a holder for the toilet paper and a bag preferably covered by a flap lid for taking up the used paper.
By way example my invention is further illustrated by means of some embodiments represented in the drawing.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the urinal provided with a box according to my invention.
Figure 2 represents this box in cross section and Figure 3 shows another embodiment of a urinal according to my invention.
According to the embodiment of Figure 1 near the urinal l a box 2 is arranged. This contains a holder at the otuside, e. g. for a reel of toilet 2 paper which may be narrower than the usual toilet paper.
At the inside the box is provided with a bag 4 with at the upper part a solid ring 5, which bag is used for taking up the used toilet paper 6. The box is closed by a lid 1 with a finger 8. If desired, the lid may be executed in two halves which can be opened with a lever by means of a foot pedal.
In the embodiment of Figure 3 in the urinal proper an opening 5 is made which is connected with a channel It emptying into the sewer. To this channel goes a side branch I I from the water line H! for removing the used toilet paper.
The urinal I further has a holder It for toilet paper.
Of course several varieties of my invention are possible, instead of a roll of toilet paper e. g. a packet of toilet paper can be used which is placed in a holder, e. g. in zigzag fashion.
I claim:
A urinal having a water line emptying therein and a drain outlet therebelow, a descending channel formed alongside said urinal and having an opening for disposal of paper therein, the bottom of said channel emptying into said drain below its mouth in the urinal, and a water line connected to said channel so as to flush away paper dropped therein.
FRANCOIS J OI-IAN MARIE KNITEL.
