This invention relates to a quick heat/water heater, or hot water storage tank.
An object of this invention is to provide a heater that by the use of deilector plates and discs and hot and cold water tubes will enable hot water to be drawn from the heater without coming in contact with the cold water therein and cooling the former.
With this and other objects and advantages in view, the invention consists of the novel details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts more fully hereinafter described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 is a vertical section of an embodiment of the invention;
Figures 2, 3 and 4 are modications thereof;
Figure 5 is a sectional View on the line 5-5 of Figure 1;
Figure 6 is 'a sectional view on the line 6-6 of Figure 2;
Figure "i is the same on line 'l--l of Figure 3, and
Figure 8 is the same on line 8--8 of Figure 4.
Referring in detail to the drawings and more particularly to Figures 1 and 5 thereof, the numeral I designates a water tank having an inwardly curved bottom l2 and an outwardly curved top I4.
Formed integral with the bottom at the medial point thereof is the vertical tubular flue I 6 which passing through the opening I8 in the top I4 ends beyond the limits thereof.
Secured to the iiue I6 at an inclined relation, there is the circular deector plate 20 having the medial opening 22 through which the flue I6 passes.
The plate ZIJ is provided with diametrically opposed semi-circular cut-outs 23 and 24.
A vertically disposed upstanding semi-circular hot water tube 26 is connected to the plate 20 at the cut-out 24 and a vertically disposed depending semi-circular cold water tube 28 is connected to the plate 20 at the cut-out 23. The tubes 26 and 28 Contact the sides of the tank Ii) to permit the passage of the hot and cold water downwardly and upwardly as the hot water` is drawn from the tank.
In Figures 2 and 6, the tank 30 has a closed outwardly curved top 32 and a closed inwardly curved bottom 34.
The deflector plate 36 is mounted within the tank 30 at an inclined relation with the top and bottom and provided with diametrically opposed cut-outs 38 and 40 to which the vertically disposed z claims. (ol. 122-17)V upstanding hot water tube 42 is` `connected at cut-outf40 and the vertically disposed depending hot cold tube 44 is connected at cut-out 38.
v This heater functions in the same manner as does the tank l0.`
In Figures 3` and 7, the tank l0 is used and is constructed as previously described, but the deiiector disc46 is concave in parallel relation to the top and bottom and provided with the medial opening 48 to which is connected the vertical hot water tube 50 which isof a larger `diameter than the flue I6 and equally spaced therefrom.
The disc 46 is provided with `diametrically opposed semi-circular cut-outs 52 which function as cold water channels.
In Figures 4 and 8, the tank 30 is used in con- `unction with the concave defiector disc 54 having the medial opening 56 to which the hot water tube 58 is connected. The disc 54 is provided with semi-circular cut-outs 60 which function as cold water channels. In this instance the tube 58 is of smaller diameter than the tube 50 shown in Figure 3 since the flue I 6 is eliminated.`
When a sufficient amount of hot water has been used to cause the thermostat to operate to replenish the supply of hot water in the tank illustrated, the water heated by application of heat to the tank bottom will be carried by defiector plate or disc to the hot water tube thence to top of tank through the hot water tube, thus eliminating cooling off of the heated waterpassing through the body of cold water as in the present types of hot water storage tanks..
This method affords an instantaneous replace* ment of hot Water at top of tank where it would be available for use.
This could be embodied in standard automatic water storage tanks' and provide an instantaneous heating feature therefor.
It is believed that the operation of the device will be apparent to those skilled in the art and it is to be understood that various changes and modifications may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims. Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:

In a range boiler, the combination which comprises a vertically disposed cylindrical housing having a convex upper end and a concave lower end with the lower end positioned to receive heat from a burner, a continuous transversely disposed baffle spaced relatively close to the said concave lower end providing a conned water heating area between the said lower end and baffle, said baille having an opening therethrough providing communicating means between the said conned area and upper part of the housing, and a'semi-tubular connection extended from a point in said bale to a point spaced from the upper end of the housing providing communicating means between the said conned area below the baifie and the upper end of the housing, said baffle being mounted in an inclined position with one side spaced a greater distance l from the corresponding side of the said concave lower end and said semi-tubular connection positioned on the high side of the baffle and against the inner surface of the wall of the `housing so that said housing forms one side of said semitubular connection to provide a water tuber 2. In a range boiler, the combination which comprises a vertically disposed cylindrical housing having a convex upper end and a concave lower end with the lower end positioned to receive heat from va burner, a continuous transversely disposed baffle spaced relatively close to the said concave lower 4endproviding a conned water heating area between the said lower end and baffle, said baffle having -an opening therethrough providing communicating means between the said conned area and upper part of the housing, a semi-tubular connection extended from a point in said baifle to a point spaced from the upper end of the housing" providing communicating means between the said confined area below the baffle and the upper end of the housing, said baille being 4 mounted in an inclined position with one side spaced a greater distance from the corresponding side of the said concave lower end and said semitubular connection positioned on the high side of the baille and against the inner surface of the wall of the housing, so that said housing forms one side of said semi-tubular connection to provide a water tube and a centrally disposed flue extended from the said concave lower end and through the said convex upper end of the housing.
