(Cl. S11- 11) 3 Claims. 1
This invention relates/,to ychiropractic tablesl of the type having. azfootrestgand: a platform` atuone end, and inrparticulariaftoggleiattachment' for automatically' elevating the foot rest offra ,chiropractic tableas, the table is lowered to a position been lowered and this ,islobjectionablebecauseY the patient is inconvenienced thereby. Withlthis thought. in4 mind this inventioncontemplates pairs of hinged levers connected=ato the ends of" the f chiropractic table and to the-platform' mounting of the table whereby the outward movement of the platform, as the table is lowered elevates the inner ends of the levers whereby with the inner ends of the levers connected to the foot rest the foot rest is automatically elevated.
The object of this invention is, therefore, to provide means for constructing an attachment for chiropractic tables whereby the elements may readily be installed on the table and connected to the foot rest so that the outward movement of the platform raises the foot rest.
Another object of the invention is to provide an attachment for chiropractic tables by which the foot rest is elevated as the table is lowered that may be installed on tables now in use.
A further object of the invention is to provide a foot rest elevating attachment for chiropractic tables which is of a simple and economical construction.
With these and other objects and advantages in view the invention embodies a yoke mounted under the foot rest of a chiropractic table with toggle action levers pivotally connected to a standard at the end of the table and also to an outwardly moving platform of the table whereby with the levers connected to the yoke of the foot rest the foot rest is elevated as the platform moves outwardly.
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description taken in connection with the drawings wherein:
Figure 1 is a vertical longitudinal section taken on line I-I of Figure 2 through the end of a chiropractic table showing the attachment installed thereon.
Figure 2 is a plan View of the end of the table ..tratng' the position of -thev attachment fon: the wtable.
Figure 3 is a side elevational viewof theattachment with;` parts shownl in section showing the r foot rest in the ,lowerl position.
Figure 4 is a cross sectionthrough the. endzof 1 the .tabla showing-the footfresttwithfthe yoke of .the-.attachment extended downwardlytherefrom andztaken on.line4-.-4 of Figure 1.

The ends '26 and 2 of the yokes I6 are attached to the hubs 28 and 29 of the platform I3 by set screws 30 and 3|, respectively, and the outer base of the yoke is provided with extensions 32 and 33 through which the ends of the bars and I2 are pivotally connected to the yoke by a rod 34.
The opposite ends of the bars and I2 are pivotally connected to the bars 23 and 2| through a rod 35 and, as illustrated in Figure 1 the rod 35 is positioned to register with the slots 36 in vertically disposed bars 3l and 38 that are pivotally connected to downwardly extended ends of the yoke I4 by a rod 39.
The opposite ends of the bars 20 and 2| are pivotally connected through the clamps I8 and I9 to a rod 4U and the clamps are secured on the standard 22 by bolts 4| and 42.
The standard 22 is carried by the outer ends of the arms 23 which are supported in webs 43 of the bars 24 and 25 and the foot rest II is provided with downwardly extended rods 44 and 45 that are slidably held in cylindrical sockets 46 and 41 on the outer ends of the rods 24 and 25. The hubs 28 and 29 and the platform I3 are carried by rods 43 and 49 that extend through the bars 24 and 25.
With the parts arranged in this manner the toggle bars extend downwardly, as illustrated in Figure 3 when the chiropractic table is upright and when the table is lowered to the position in which adjustments are made the bars 20 and 2| and Il and I2 move-the foot rest I'I upwardly through the rod 35 which is positioned in the 3 notches 36. The upward movement of the foot rest is adjusted by placing the rod 35 in the different pairs of notches.
The attachment may readily be installed on chiropractic tables as disclosed and it will be understood that the attaching elements at the ends of the device may be modied to correspond with tables of different designs.
It will also be understood that other modications may be made in the design and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit of the invention.
What is claimed is:
1. A chiropractic table attachment comprising two pairs of parallel bars, an intermediate rod pivotally connecting the inner ends of the said pairs of parallel bars, a pair of vertically disposed bars having notches in the edges thereof, means pivotally connecting the upper ends of the said vertically disposed bars to a foot rest of the table, means connecting the inner pair of parallel bars to the end of the table, and means connecting the outer pair of parallel bars to an outwardly movable part of the table, said notches of the vertically disposed bars positioned to receive the said intermediate rod connecting the inner ends of the parallel bars.
2. A chiropractic table attachment comprising two pairs of parallel bars, an intermediate rod pivotally connecting the inner ends of the said pairs of parallel bars, a pair of vertically disposed bars having notches in the edges thereof, a yoke having downwardly extending ends mounted on a foot rest of the table, a rod pivotally connecting the upper end of the said vertically disposed bars to the downwardly extending ends of the yoke of the foot rest, means connecting the inner pair of parallel bars to the end of the table, and means connecting the outer pair of parallel bars to an outwardly movable part of the table, said notches of the vertically disposed bars positioned to receive the said intermediate rod connecting the inner ends of the parallel bars.
3. A chiropractic table attachment comprising two pairs of parallel bars, an intermediate rod pivotally connecting the inner ends of the said pairs of parallel bars, a pair of vertically disposed bars having notches in the edges thereof, a yoke having downwardly extending ends mounted on a foot rest of the table, a rod pivotally connecting the upper end of the said vertically disposed bars to the downwardly extended ends of the yoke of the foot rest, U-shaped clamps positioned on a standard extended through the end of the table, a rod pivotally connecting the end of the inner pair of parallel bars to the said U-shaped clamps, a yoke mounted on a platform carried by the table, and a rod pivotally connecting the ends of the outer pair of parallel bars to the yoke of the platform, said notches of the vertically disposed bars positioned to receive the said intermediate rod pivotally connecting the inner ends of the pairs of parallel bars.
