SPECIFICATION forming` part of Letters Patent No. 253,471, dated February 7, 1862.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAIW'I BROWN Coor- GER, of Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin, and in the State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door-Hangers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference bein g had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.

This invention relates to certain improvements in doorhangers; and it has for its objects to provide a device whereby the wheel or roller upon which the door travels may be confined to the track and protected from the weather, as more fully hereinafter specified.

These objects I attain by the devices illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l represents a view, partly i11 longitudinal section and partly in elevation, of my improvement. Fig. 2 represents a vertical transverse sectional view ot' the same', and Fig.

3 represents an end elevation of the apparatus.

The letter A indicates the beam, which extends across the top ofthe gateway and is supported by the posts at each side.

The letter B indicates an angle-rail extending longitudinally along the top of the beam A, upon which the grooved roller C is adapted to travel.

The letterD indicates a block of wood longitndinally grooved, as indicated by the letter E, on the lower side, and secured by means of screws F, or otherwise, to a hanger, G. The

lower edges of said block have attached to them a metallic frame, H, which extends npward and embraces the ends of the block, as indicated. The upper part of the gronved roller C is adapted to set into the groove E of 4o the block D, the frame H, at the lower edges of the block, resting upon the axle ot' the roller in such manner as to travel back and forth thereon, to a certain extent, as the roller travels back and forth upon the track. The frame H, at its ends, is pro\'idedwith downwardly-extending projections K, which prevent the. block from running oit' ofthe roller.

In mounting the gate two rollers, with their attachments, are employed, one at ear-h end ot' the gate, the gate being secured to the hangers in any suitable manuel'.

In combination with the longitudinallygrooved block D, the grooved metallic frame grooved on its periphery, andA the rail B and support A, substantially as and for the purposes specied.
