Figllis an enlarged perspective-view'of the F pin and bayonet slot means use'd' in connection with my 'inventiom H Referring to the illustrations,--my inventionis generally designated" 1. andconsists of an oblong: ashQtray '8', having a partition 9 dividing the ash tray: 8- into-wan ash-receiving compartment I It and a clippings-receiving compartment H. "The? ash tray' il is preferably made of-sheet metal, and i the edges I 2' of ash receiving compartment {iii are-rolled; as shown infliig. 1. A number of coil springs 25; in th present instance, two are shown, are secured within sockets 26 on the bottom of the said guillotineholding compartment 2|. The top ends of the said coil springs 25 rest in recesses 21 in the bottom of the blade-holding block 29 of a guillotine assembly 28. Suitably secured to the inside of guillotine block 29 by bracket 4| and projecting through a horizontal slot 38, in the front upper portion thereof, is a spring-urged T pin 30, the said T pin 30 also projects through a verticallypositioned bayonet type slot 3| in the front surface of casing 1'6. A shoulder 32, formed in the said bayonet slot 3 I, acts as a limiting means to the vertical movement of guillotine assembly 28, by means of the said pin 30 attached thereto.
A removable cutting blade 33, such as a razor blade, is held vertically in the forward bottom portion of block!!! by means of a resilient bladeholding clamp 34, the said blade 33 being held frictionally therein. A knob 35- is suitably se-v cured on the top of guillotine assembly 28, and an opening or mouth 36 is formed in the front of easing l6 through which the'tips of cigarettes i 3 or cigars l5 may be inserted for purposes of clipping. a
The said cutting blade 33 is positioned in alignment with the blade-receiving sheath 23,
prising, a guillotine enclosure provided with a guillotine compartment, guillotine means slidably mounted in the said guillotine compartment, |blade receiving sheath means formed at the lower and in registry with mouth 36, so that the cut- 5 portion of the said guillotine compartment, spring ting edge 39 will pass into the said sheath 23 between its lips 24 when the guillotine assembly 28 is depressed, thus providing a shearing action on the tipaofacigarettea or cigars; l5; inserted j-z means confined between the bottom of the said guillotine compartment and the bottom of the said guillotine means maintaining the same normuyg: ogit engagement ths'iseio; blade serve as a support to the inserted cigarette or means mounted in the said guillotine means coar l 3? as it is be ng clipped and have obrating with bayonet slot means in the said wiping action on blade 33 as itleavessheath23.
