A. A. MAGINNIS 81; J. MQOARRON.
OIL CAKE MAT 0R MOLD.
No. 251,1ZZ.v Patented Dec. 20,1881.
UNITED STATES PATENT O FICE.
ARTHUR A. MAGINNIS AND JOSEPH MCGARRON, OF NEW ORLEANS, LA.
OIL-CAKE MAT OR MOLD.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No, 251,122, dated December 20, 1881.
Application filed October 11, 1880. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, ARTHUR A. MAGIN- ms and JOSEPH MCGARRON, residents of the city of New Orleans, parish of Orleans, and State of Louisiana, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Oil-(Jake Mats or Molds; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and correct description of the same, reference being bad to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification.
This invention relates toimproved means for extracting the oil from the crushed seed; and the improvement consists in the novel construction and arrangement of the leaves, constituting a double mat, whereby two cakes of seed-meal are operated upon at the same time, as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a perspective View oi'ourimproved double-leaf mat; and Fig. 2 is an end view, showing the leaves open.
The letter A represents the strip of leather bent at its middle, so as to form a cover. similar to a book, for the outer leaves of the mat. The outer leaves, b d, of the mat are made of hair, with borders of the same material. The central lea-f, e, of the mat is constructed entirely of hair, with its border made of the same material, so as to produce a leaf with two faces composed of hair. The outer leaves ofthe. mat are secured to the roverA bymeans of the ropelacing 6, made of the same material-hairfor a mat which is partly constructed oi hair,
nor to a double mat employing metallic and wooden plates; but
What We do claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The improved inator mold, consisting of the leather cover A, the outer leaves, b d, made ot' hair, with borders of the sa me material, secured to the said cover by means of the lacing c, and the central leafconstructed entirely of hair, as described and shown.
In testimony whereof we have hereunto signed our names.
A. A. MAGINNIS. JUSEPH MCUARRON.
In presence of- THOS. N. GILMORE, JOHN J. MCCARRON.
