The invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in a so-called reminder bracelet and contemplates the provision of an especial- 1y constructed bracelet to be worn on ones wrist. whereby the wearer may be readily and convenientl informed concerning such intelligence as is forgotten at home by housewives in the com-' motion and hurry attending shopping trips and that inconvenience and delays result from a last minute search through cluttered handbags for supposedly available data.

The invention has for an object to provide an' ever ready visual simple reminder bracelet which may be readily consulted and checked with convenience of facility.

Another object is to provide such an accessory which may likewise form a unique and an attractive item of costume jewelry.

A further object is to provide a practical and easily accessible visual reminder means, the printed legends of which are capable of selective adjustment to readily disclose the desired data for a prescribed occasion.

An additional object is to provide such a bracelet which will be simple and economical to manufacture and otherwise aptly constructed and fitted to accomplish the desired ends.

The invention consists of the novel features and combinations and arrangements hereinafter set forth and finally claimed.

The invention is exemplified in the preferred form of a reminder bracelet shown in the accompanying drawing in which the views ar as follows:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the bracelet;

Figure 2 is a Side or edge elevation thereof;

Figure 3 is a perspective view of an indicia tag employed with the bracelet;

Figure 4 is a transverse or cross-sectional view on line 4-4 of Figure 1; and,

Figure 5 is an enlarged section on line 5-5 of Figure 2.

Briefly, the invention is characterized by a wrist band or so-called bracelet Of appropriate material and color. Although expensive material may, under certain circumstances, be adopted for commercial purposes I have in mind the practical use of an appropriate plastic band and contemplate utilizing various hues and colors for ornamental purposes and eye appeal. Smooth on its interior the bracelet is provided on its exterior surface or periphery with a multiplicity of insertable and removable and selectively usable indicia tags or plates, these being constructed and arranged as hereinafter described.

Specifically, the preferred embodiment of the invention as shown in the drawings, comprises an annular band or so-called bracelet 6 whose inner periphery 'l is smooth as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 4. The outer periphery is molded or otherwise formed to provide a plurality of transversely extending circumferentially spaced ribs 8, said ribs combining in providing a plurality of circumferentially spaced open ended channels constituting slideways. Each slideway is denoted by the numeral 9 and is adapted to receive a tag or indicia slide I0. and carries the desired notation, word or other indicia H as shown in Figure 3 and is provided atone end with a riser constituting an operating button I2. The length of the slide is approximately one-half the length of the channel for a purpose to be hereinafter described. The longitudinal edges of the respective ribs are undercut to provide grooves and said grooves form keyways for slidable reception of the longitudinal edge portion of the slides or tags. It is also to be noted that the entrance portions forming the opposite ends of the respective ribs are chamfered or bevelled off as indicated at I3 in Figure 4 and these surfaces l3 co-act with centrally arranged bevelled lugs M which function as detents as well as stop elements for limitin the sliding movement of the respective tags. The tags are properly located in alignment with the respective entrances to the channels and are slipped into place between the bevelled surfaces l3 and detents l4, this in an obvious manner. Figure 5 serves to bring out, on an enlarged scale, the cross-sectional shape of a single channel and the entrance construction at either end of the channel. It follows therefore that I provide a. simple and expedient bracelet of appropriate dimensions and material with slideways about the outer circumference or periphery, there being slides shiftably mounted in said slideways for use as brought out in Figure 1 of the drawings.

In use, when the housewife gets ready to leave on a shopping tour she arranges the tags II] for a systematic shopping tour. That is to say, the tags which are to indicate the articles to be purchased or the appointments to be made are shifted over to the right of the circumferential imaginary center and are thus racked for convenient selection and use. Consequently, as a purchase is made and a particular tag has served its use it is then slid or shifted back to the left side leaving in readiness only those tags which are to be referred to in making the remainder of needed purchases.

It is submitted that a device of this type is possessed not only of ornamentation and eye appeal in the sense that it is a novelty, but it is truly a practical and highly useful accessory. It

enables the wearer to embark systematically on a shopping tour and it places :at her fingertips the reminders necessary to make the tour a success. It is not, however, my purpose in this technical paper to attempt to set forth the various commercial aspects and time and temper saving advantages of the invention for said factors are substantially self-evident and will fulfill the requirements of a long felt need for the wearer who takes advantage of the use of reminder means for shopping and other purposes. 7 v

A careful consideration of the foregoing de scr'ipti'on in conjunction with the invention as illustrated in the drawings will enable the reader to obtain a clear understanding and impression of. the alleged features of merit and novelty suffic'ient to clarify the construction of the invention ash'ereinafter claimed.

As a new article of manufacture, a reminder bracelet adapted to be worn by shoppers comprising an endless Wrist band provided on its exterior circumferential surface with circumferentially spaced transversely extending and parallel ribs, the opposed parallel edge portions of said ribs being under-cut and said under-cut ribs coacting in defining a plurality of open ended channels providing slideways for insertable and removable reminder tags, the end portions of the channels between the corresponding end portions of the ribs being provided with upstanding projections and said projections functioning as detents, the detents being such that the tags will be prevented from being accidentally displaced but may be inserted, by hand for replacement purposes, and a plurality of duplicate tags mounted in the respective slideways, each being provided with a finger grip and prescribed indicia visible to the observer for shopping list purposes, each tag being of a length approximately one-half the length of the slideway in which it is shiftably lodged in order to permit the tags to be racked at corresponding ends of the slideways and then shifted .to the opposite ends of the slideways depending on whether the tags have or have not served their reminder purposes.
