This inventiomrelates tor-aw collapsible canine kennel the main object of which is to provide a kennel that can be collapsed for the disinfecting and painting thereof as required.-

Another object of the inventionis to i provide a kennel which in its collapsed-or folded position can easily be carried by canto furnish ahousing for the animal-atany locatidn w herever its owner may stop for lodging or the like.

Another object of the invention is to provide a kennel that is warm, wind and water proof and being raised from the ground there will be an air space below the floor thereof to maintain the floor dry under any type of weather.

With the above and other objects in view the invention consists of the novel details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts more fully hereinafter described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which:

Figure 1 is a front view of an embodiment of the invention;

Figure 2 is a side view thereof;

Figure 3 is a sectional view on the line 3-3 of Figure 2;

Figure 4 is a sectional view on the line 4-4 of Figure 1; v

Figure 5 is a sectional view on the line 5-5 of Figure 1;

Figure 6 is a perspective view of one of the joints and Figure 7 is a perspective view partly broken away of the floor brace.

Referring more in detail to the drawings the reference numeral I0 designates the kennel having ply wood side walls l2 having angularly cut top edges [4, and plywood front and rear walls I6 and I8 respectively, which are of a size to conform to the inclination of the top edge l4 of the side walls l2.

The front and rear walls I6 and I8 are secured to the vertical corner ports 26 by wood screws 22 on one face thereof inwardly of the longitudinal slots 24 in which the side walls l2 are removably received.

Secured to the front and rear walls by wood screws 26 adjacent the lower edge thereof are the floor supporting members 28 which are slotted at 30 to receive the marginal edge framing strips 32 secured to the undersurface of the floor 34. The roof 52 has a frame 54 of the same size as the overall area of the upper edges of the walls secured to the undersurface thereof by wood screws 56 and the frame is slotted at 58 on the undersurface thereof to receive the upper edges of the Walls. At the point of engagement with the top of the posts 28 the frame is cutout as at 68 to permit a tight fit of the roof on the walls.

Openings 62 are provided in the side of the frame 54 which are adapted to aline with openings 64 in the side walls for the reception of removable headed pins 66 whereby the roof is secured to the walls I and keepers 68 pivotally mounted on pins 10 in the frame engage the pins 66 to retain them in securing position.

A door frame 12 in the shape of a shield is secured to the front wall I6 by wood screws 14 and surrounds the doorway 16 formed therein. The frame is formed in half sections to receive the pivot rod 18 on which the door is mounted and the door is cut shorter at its bottom 82 to allow a space thereunder through which the means for fastening the animal to the kennel may pass when the animal is inside the kennel. A metal plate 84 is secured to the door frame 12 at the bottom thereof to prevent damage to the frame by the fastening means for the animal. I

A slide bolt 86 secured to the front wall in a position to engage the door 80 will retain the door in open position in good weather.

To erect the kennel the sides are placed on the ground in parallel position to each other with the members 36 on the inside thereof. The rear wall is then brought into position so that the tongue and groove joints of the

28 and 36 will engage and the side walls enter the grooves 24 in the corner posts 20. Then the front wall is joined to the side walls in like manner. The floor is then dropped into place with the members 32 in the recesses 38 and the bolts are slid forward to retain the floor in place.

The roof is then placed on the walls, the pins 66 are inserted, the keepers 68 moved to rethe occupancy of the animal.

. 5 Thus a kennel hasbeen provided that can be maintained in a sanitary condition at all times since it can be collapsed for the cleaning thereof and combination of parts may be resorted to provided they fall within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claim.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:

A structure of the character described, comprising side, front and rear walls, vertically disposed posts secured along the side edges of the front and rear walls, grooves in said posts, removably receiving the edges of said walls'to form a rectangular enclosure, a removable floor, horizontally disposed strips on said walls for supporting said floor, recesses in said horizontally disposed strips at the wall side thereof, marginal edge framing strips on said floor received in said recesses to retain said rectangular enclosure in alinement at all sides thereof, a horizontally disposed brace on the undersurface of said floor parallel to the horizontally disposed strips on the front and rear walls, sliding bolts on said brace engageable in holes in the horizontally disposed strips on the side walls for retaining said-floor in position, a removablev roof and a rectangular frame on the under side of said roof having downwardly opening slots receiving the upper edges of said walls for retaining said roof in position.
