Description

Nov. 1,1949.
v c. J. SCHUBIGER 'HAIR TWEEZER Filed Nov-. 22, 1947 IN VENT'OR A TTOR/VEYS Patented Nov. 1, 1949 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE HAIR TWEEZER Carl J. Schubiger, J anesville, Wis. Application November 22, 1947, Serial No. 787,531
1 Claim. 1
My invention refers to hair removing tweezers, and it has for its object to provide a coil spring section having finger gripping cups at its ends whereby the open coils of the spring may be inserted over hairs to be removed and thereafter, compressed to cause the hairs to bite between the convolutions of the spring whereby they. may be extracted, it being understood that said coils are preferably rectangular in cross section to facilitate the bite upon the hairs to be extracted.
With the above and other objects inview, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts, substantially as hereinafter described, and more particularly defined by the appended claims, it being understood that such changes in the precise embodiment of the herein disclosed invention may be made as come within the scope of the claims.
In the accompanying drawings is illustrated one complete example of the physical embodiment of the present invention constructed according to the best mode so far devised for the practical application, of the principles thereof.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a hair extracting tweezers embodying the features of my invention with parts broken away and in section to more clearly illustrate structural features.
Figure 2 is an end view of the same.
Figure 3 is a fragmentary elevation of the spring coil under compression and engaging hairs to be extracted from any portion of the head or body of the individual.
Referring by characters to the drawing, I indicates a section of coil spring, the same being rectangular in cross section, as clearly shown in Figure 1 of the drawings.
The ends of the spring section have fitted thereover cupped thimbles 2-2 whereby said expanded spring may be. contracted in a hair extracting operation.
As best shown in Figure 3 of the drawings, when the coils of the spring are compressed tight together after they are fitted over the hairs to be extracted, the hairs a as indicated in Figure 3, are firmly gripped between the spring coils whereby they may be extracted. By this simple arrangement, it is apparent that in order to extract hairs, it is only necessary to insert the spring section of coil over the same and compress it as previously stated. Thus, dispensing with the delicate operation of selectin individual hairs by what may be termed the standard bowed tweezers.
I claim:
As a new article of manufacture a hair extracting tweezers comprising a section of coiled spring for gripping individual hairs the coils being rectangular in cross section, and a manually actuating means for compressing the coiled spring including a pair of cupped thimbles into which the spring ends are seated, the thimbles being provided with concave finger seats.
