The object of this invention is to overcome this difficulty; and it consistsin the construction hereinafter described, and 'particularl y recited in the claim.
A is the discharge-spout, extending from the base of the vertical shell B.
O is the connection with the supply-pipe, which opens into a passage, D, in the shell.
W is the body, constructed with a valve-seat at its lower end to enter and take a seat upon the inlet-passage D, as at a, and also to take a bearing on the outer shell, 13, as atd, with one or more ports or openings, G, from the waterway and between the two bearing-points a d.
'l is the valve-stein, hung upon an eccentric or otherwise in the body W, and provided at its lower end with a valve, P, and so that the valve may be thrown down to open or raised to close, in the usual manner, too well known to require description in this application, the essential feature of the invention being the peculiar connection of the body W to the parts below.
I claim In a faucet having a valve arranged upon a spindle operating vertically, the body.W, entering the water-way from above, and having two seats, a d, with one or more ports, G, substantially as described.
