In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this applicationin which like numerals are employed @toi designate. like parts throughout the h Fig h re o,
Eigure 3 is, a. tranverse section taken on line 3-3 or Figure 1, and
Figure 4 is an exploded perspective view of the attachment embodying my invention.
In the drawings, wherein for the purpose of iilustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, the numeral 5 designates a picker stick and B is a shoe, having an upstanding socket 7. The shoe has the conventional longitudinally curved face I to engage with the upper face of an oscillating stand or foot 8, mounted upon the rocker. shaft 9. The numeral I designates a parallel'tongue arranged between the picker stick and the end wall I I of the opening I2 of the shoe 6. The parallel tongue II) and picker stick are secured to the socket 1 by a heel bolt I3, passing through an opening in the socket I and an opening in the parallel tongue I 0 and also through an opening in a cap I4 and through an opening in a heel strap I5. This heel strap passes about the lower end of the picker stick 5 and is connected with the usual spring actuated drum I6 carried by a bracket". The numeral I8 designates an adjusting screw, having screw-threaded engage- I fi e l s a side leyati on-iofapicker sticlc shoe stand attachment opplied seems -139,f 5 )1j nient within an opening iiortned: socket 7 and having its inner end engaging the :upper end of? the parallel tongue I 0. By adjusting the screw IS the parallel: tongue and picker stick maybe angularly adjusted with respect to the socket I. .The adjusting; screw. l 8 carries a lock ,nut 19. The stand or footil carries anupstanding lug -20, iormed integral therewith, and this lug operates Within a longitudinal slot 21 formed in the shoe 6. ThenumeraldZZ designates alug strap, surrounding the picker stick 5 and supported bya check strap 23, 'The lug strapis operated by the usual means to swing the 'pickerstick inwardly while the ;picker stick is swung by the spring actuated-druinlfi. I, I A e E The construction thus :far, shown and described is-of the conventionalloomstructure. H l In accordancewith my invention, means are provided toIprevent the improper separation of the'fsho'e.GQandstand, 8, ,duringsoperation, and

The side 3| carries a side 33, formed integral therewith and arranged at a right angle thereto and the side 33 carries a head 34 having an opening 35, which is polygonal, to receive the nut I3 of the heel bolt I 3. The heel bolt and nut thus serve to secure the unit 30 in place, and the head 34 also serves as a lock to prevent rotation of the nut I3 of the heel bolt. The elongated slot 32 permits the relative longitudinal adjustment be- I tween the sides 21 and 3|; I
The numeral 36 designates a retaining element, in the form of a metal strap, disposed upon the sides of the shoe and stand 6, and having an inturned portion or end 31, positioned beneath the stand 8, and slightly spaced therefrom, so that it 24 has an opening 2,.6ffor.thepassageof the ad sid'ef2'3 is arranged behind I will not interfere with the normal rocking movement of the shoe 6, but will positively engage the stand 8 and prevent the separation of the shoe parts 28, 36 and 3| are clamped together in the.
selected adjusted position. The elongated slot 38 permits of the vertical adjustment of the the attaching member, said strap having an inwardly facing part arranged beneath the stand.
A'device for use in connection with a picker stick shoe and stand, said device comprising a strap'36.
' It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and describedisto be.
taken as a preferred example of the same and that various changes in the shape, size and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without depart ing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claims. V A
