Description

(No Model.)
I. W. LINCOLN. Combine-d Biscuit Cutter and Sticker.
10.230,294. Y Patented July 20,1880.
UNITED STATES 'PATENT OFFICE.
ISAAC W. LINCOLN, OF ST. JOSEPH, MISSOURI.
COMBINED BISCUIT CUTTER `AND` STICKER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 230,294, dated July 20,
Application filed May 28, 1880. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC W. LINCOLN, a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Joseph, in the county of Buchanan and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in CombinedBiscuitCutter and Sticker; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had tothe annexed drawings, making a part of this specilic-ation, and to theletters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure l of the drawings is a sectional elevation of my invention, and Fig. 2 an underside plan view with a portion of the ejector broken away.
This invention has relation to certain new and useful improvements in combined biscuit cutter and sticker; and it consists in the general construction of its parts, as illustrated inthe drawings, and hereinafter described.4 In the dra\vi ngsA represents the cutter, of cylindrical or other form, having rigidly secured to its interior sides a diaphragm, B, with spurs a extending down to the bottom edge of the cutter A.
An ejector, C, of form to correspond with the form of the cutter, is secured to the llower end of a shaft, b, said ejector having holes through it for the passage of the teeth or spurs a.
The shaftb passes up through the diaphragm Band through a removable cover, D. The shaft b is screw-threaded to receive a screwnut, c, a spiral spring, d, being coiled around the shaft and its ends bearing against the nut and diaphragm.
The diaphragm B has openings c, also the cover D openings j', the object of which is to admit the escape of the air when the ejector is being operated, as without the air-escape it would be difficult to operate the ejector successfully, by reason of the compressed air between the ejector and diaphragm.
After the biscuit has been cut and stuck by the spurs c the pressure of the hand upon the button g will force the ejector C down and the biscuit off the spurs a.
The position of the ejector with relation to the cutting-edge of the cutter A is regulated by adjusting the tension of the spring d, which is done by the screw-nut. y
To obtain access 'to the interior ofthe cutter A, in order to adjust the tension ofthe sprin g, also to clean it of the flour forced up through the air-escape openings e, the button g is first removed and afterward the cover D.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The cutter A, lhaving stationary diaphragm B, with openings c and spurs a, and the removable cover D, with openings j', in combination with the ejector C, spring d, and nut c, substantially as and for the purpose set'forth.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name iu the presence of two witnesses# ISAAC WV. LINCOLN.
