ICE 0R HOT WATER BREA ST BAG- Filed Nov. 21, 1941 Inventor Y v fimaoriih Patented Oct. 13, 1942 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE numbers a Freund, New York, N. 1'.
Substitute for abandoned application Serial No. 726,388, May 18,1934. This application November 21, 1941, Serial No. 420,018
1 Claim. (Cl. 150-22) This invention relates to a bag for holding ice or hot or cold water for treatment of those portlons oi the female body that contain the milk glands, the general object of the invention being to shape the bag somewhat like a brassiere, with means for supporting the bag by a back strap and a neck strap, the subject matter here being in substitution for the subject matter of abandoned application Serial No. 726,388, flied May 18, 1934 and allowed on October 18, 1934.
This invention also consists in certain other features oi construction a :d in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail, reference, will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which: 20
Figure l is a view showing the invention in use.
Figure 2 is a section on line 2-4 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a section on line. H of Figure 1.
As shown in the drawing, the bag A ismade 25 somewhat in the shape of a brassiere, with a convex outer face and a concave inner face, with openings l in the bag for the passage of the breasts. The water or ice is placed in the bag through the nipple 3 which is closed by a plug 30 l threaded in the nipple. The ends of the bag are formed with the tapered hollow extensions 5 to the ends 0;! which are connected the straps 6 which are adapted to pass around the body of the user and to be connected. together by the usual buckle I and holes 3. Two straps 9 are also connected to the upper part oi the bag at the circular por ions thereof and these straps are adapted to extend around the neck of the user and to be connected together by the the tongue of which is adapted to engage any one of a number of holes H in one of the straps.
A pair of substantially cup-shaped bags I! is used when it is desired to cover the entire parts of the breasts and each ofthese bags I! is formed 45 with a filling opening closed by a plug 13 and each bag I! is detachabiy connected to the main bag by the snap fasteners ll, portions of which are carried by the tabs I! on the small bag and portions by the outer face of the largebas, the latter portions surrounding the openings I.
Thus the small bags can be usedor not, as desired.
The hollow extensions 6, of course, form part of the bag and receive the ice or water placed in the main part of the bag and these parts should extend under the armpits so that the bag covers those portions of the body which contain the lacteal or milk glands, so that these glands can be treated by hot or cold applications by the use of the bag, and by using the small bags II, the entire breasts can be treated.
The purpose of this invention is to supply a practical, safe and easy form for cold or hot applications, not only to the breasts themselves, but to the lacteal or milk glands, most of which are located at the base of the breasts and at the sides of the body approximately below the armpits and on a level with the breasts.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within appended claim.
What is claimed is:
Means for treating those portions of the female body containing the milk glands, comprising a rubber bag made in the shape of a brsfssiere and having elongated tapered and hollow end portions extending under the armpits, straps the scope of the 3 connected to the ends of the bag and extending around the back of the user, means for connecting the straps together. a pair of neck straps connected with the top part of the bag, means for 7 connecting the neck straps together, said bag buckle Ill, 0 having a filling opening, a closure for the same,
the front part of the bag having openings therein for the passage of the breasts, a pair of small substantially cup-shaped hollow bags adapted to cover the breasts, means for detachably connecting the small bags to the main bag around the openings in the main bag, each small bag having a filling opening and closure means'for the same.
