cave cover member.
An object of the invention is to provide a simplified construction of safety razor of the above noted type. v
A safety razor, according to the invention, incorporates a cover plate presenting an inner cona handle member for the holder.
Desirably, the cover The blade ing studs, pins or the like which project from plane of the cover member.
The studs or the in the cover member.
As both sides of the cutting edge or edges are exposed, the blade may be easily cleaned Without removal from the holder.
The invention will now be described With the aid of the accompanying drawing in which Fig. 1 is an end view; Fig. 2 a front view and Fig. 3 a plan of a safety razor constructed according to one embodiment of the invention.
Referring to the drawing, I a is the cover plate and I the handle. Projecting from the con cave face of the cover member l are two studs 4 having aligned transverse holes. The cover member I is formed with two spaced parallel so located that when the blade 1 The end of the cover member I adjacent to the I first bend a of the wire I 0 is l2, so that when the studs cotter II, the
provided with a notch 4 are slid on to the The razor of the invention is non-clogging, for example, in the case of surgical shaving, long hairs may be shaved off Without clogging the blade.
I claim: 5
1. A safety razor comprising a wire having a part thereof bent into the form of a loop, with the parts forming the loop being spaced to afford a handle, the portions of the wire beyond one end of the loop being brought together and bent in parallel in the plane of said handle and at substantially right angles to the direction of said handle, and again bent at substantially right angles to the first bend so as in conjunction with the handle to form substantially a Z-shaped figure, one of the portions of the wire being bent at the end of the last bent section in a direction reverse to the first bent portion beyond the handle and forming a cotter pin free at its distal end and supported at its proximal end, the other portion of the wire terminating in a stop adjacent to said proximal end of the cotter pin, a cover member having slots parallel to said cotter pin, spaced studs extending from said cover member and having aligned apertures through which 2 said cotter pin extends, said cover member also having a notch in which the portion of the wire forming said step is received, said cover member having a curved under face, and a thin flexible blade interposed between said cotter pin and said 30 pin free at its allel to said cotter cover member and having cutting edges exposed by the slots in the cover member, said blade being held by said cotter pin in flexed condition against said under face.
2. A safety razor comprising a wire bent to form a handle, the portions of the wire beyond one end of the handle being brought together to form a twin wire, said twin wire being bent in the plane of the handle, one portion of the wire beyond the handle being bent to form a cotter distal end and supported at its proximal end, the other portion of the wire beyond the handle terminating in a stop located adjacent to said proximal end of the cotter pin, a cover plate member extending lengthwise of said cotter pin and having slots extending parpin, said cover member also having a notch in which the portion of the wire forming said stop is received, said cover plate having a concave under surface, spaced studs projecting from said cover member and having aligned apertures through which said cotter pin extends, and a thin flexible blade having cutting edge portions, said blade being interposed between said cotter pin and said under surface and held by said cotter pin in flexed condition against the under surface of the cover member with said cutting edge portions exposed by the slots in the cover member.
