Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ADAM HEIDIJE, OF BRYAN, OHIO.
FAUCET-LOCK FOR BEER-COOLERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 228,069, dated May 25, 1880,
Application filed January 31, 1880.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, ADAM HEIDLE, of Bryan, in the county of Williams and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Faucet-Locks for Beer-Coolers 5 and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being bad to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of a face of my lock, showing the same applied to a faucet. Fig. 2 is a view of the lock in an opened position, and Fig. 3 is a side "iew'.
The nature of my invention relates to the construction and arrangement of afaucet-lock for beer-coolers, as herein fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claim.
A designates a portion of a beer-cooler. in which the keg of beer will be placed upon ice while on tap with the faucet projecting out through an opening, B.
0 G designate two plates, which are hinged or linked together at their upper end, so that they may be spread apart, as shown in Fig.2. These plates are recessed near their hinged ends, as at D D, so that when they are closed the recesses will form an opening for the shank of a knob, E, which is screwed into the side of the cooler A, and its knob part turned down upon the plates, so as to hold them in a closed position upon the cooler. The plates have also two semicircular recesses, -F F, which, when the plates are closed, embrace the faucet G.
When the faucet is withdrawn from the keg and the opening in the cooler, a cover, H, which is pivoted to one of the plates (J, may be swung round so as to cover the recesses F and the opening B in the cooler A.
To open the plates the knob should be turned, so as to relieve its pressure upon the plates. These plates, when brought together, fit closely to each other by means of a tongueand-groove joint.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the hinged plates 0,
having recesses D F, with the knob E and cover H, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
ADAM HEIDLE.
