same as the natural shape of the users lips.
Such devices do not improve the appearance of the user because they are limited by the shape of the users lips. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device for beautifying the mouth of the user, by applying a predetermined shape of lips to the users mouth, different from her own. The present improved device may thus be made up to copy the lip shapes of different movie stars or famous models. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a device to beautify the mouth of the user by imparting thereto, a form more beautiful than its original shape.
A further object of this invention is to provide a device having a concave, part-cylindrical surface and an outline of the combined lip shape of the upper and lower lips. To said surface rouge may be applied and spread so that the device may then be pressed against the closed mouth to apply rouge thereto, in accordance with the shape of said surface.
Yet another object of this invention is to provide a neat and durable device of the character described, which shall be relatively inexpensive to manufacture, easy to manipulate, attractive in appearance, and yet practical and efficient to a high degree in use.
Other objects of this invention will in part be obvious and in part hereinafter pointed out.
The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combinations of elements, and arrangement of parts which will be exemplified in the construction hereinafter described, and of which the scope of application will be indicated in the following claims.
In the accompanying drawing, in which is shown one of the various possible illustrative embodiments of this invention,
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a mouth beautifier embodying the invention;
Fig. 2 is a rear view thereof;
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the improved device illustrating the method of applying lip rouge to the mouth of the user; and
Fig. 4 is a top plan view of the improved device.
Referring now in detail to the drawing, l0 designates a mouth beautifier embodying the invention. The same may be made of Celluloid, plastic composition, metal, wood, or any other suitable substance. Said device l0 may comprise an applicator portion ll of curved, transverse cross-section, or concave, part-cylindrical shape, and straight longitudinally.
The portion H may have the shape of the combined upper and lower lips desired to impart to the user. Thus, the upper edge Ila of part I I will have the outline of the upper edge of the upper lip, whereas, the lower edge Nb of said part will have the outline of the lower edge of the lower lip. The shape of part II may conform to the shapes of the mouths of various movie stars and models.
Attached to the middle of the rear of part H, is a handle [2. The handle l2 may be of U-shaped transverse, cross-section, comprising arms i3, the forward ends of which are attached to the rear of part II on opposite sides of the center thereof, said arms being interconnected by a curved rear portion l4. When the parts ll and I2 are made of Celluloid, the forward ends of the arms l3 may be dipped in Celluloid and then pressed against the rear of part II until dry, to firmly adhere the handle to the applicator I l Said handle, however, may be attached to part II in any other suitable manner.
The method of application of lip rouge to the mouth with the improved device It, will now be described:
The usual lipstick is first rubbed against the inner surface It of part II. The lip rouge is then spread evenly over the entire surface IS with the finger. The user holding the handle l2, and closing the mouth, will then press surface l6 against her mouth to impart lip rouge thereto, to give her a mouth appearance similar to the shape of the part I l.
The device is thus not merely an applicator to apply lipstick, but is for the purpose of creating for the user a mouth appearance different from her own.
The improved device H1 is hence a mouth beautifier since it does not apply rouge merely to the lips of the user, but stamps a new mouth shape over the natural lip line. The improved device thus beautifies the mouth of the user by imparting thereto a form more beautiful than its original shape.
, It will be noted, furthermore, that the part II has a single surface of curved, transverse or horizontal shape, and is straight longitudinally from top to bottom. Said surface is thus in a curved plane, and may be part cylindrical. The device is therefore easy to use and ensures application of rouge from the entire inner surface l6 to the mouth of the user. Each lip form may be a copy of the mouth of a different movie star or famous model.
By making the part I I of transparent material,
the user can more readily tell when the rouge is tion are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.
As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiment above set forth, it is to be understood that all matter hereinset forth or shown in the accompanying drawing is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. Amouth beautifier comprising a part having a surface curved horizontally and straight from top to bottom, and of a shape of the combined upper and lower lips, and a handle on said part.
2. A mouth beautifier comprising a part having an upper edge conforming to the shape of the upper edge of the upper lip, and a lower edge conforming to the shape of the lower edge of the lower lip, said part being curved transversely, but straight longitudinally, and a handle on said part.
3. A mouth beautifier comprising a part having an upper edge conforming to the shape of the upper edge of the upper lip, and a lower edge conforming to the shape of the lower edge of the lower lip, said part being curved transversely, but straight longitudinally, and a handle on said part, said handle comprising a U-shaped portion having arms interconnected by a curved portion, the forward edges of said arms being attached to the outer surface of said applicator part on opposite sides of the mid-portion of said applicator part.
4. A mouth beautifier comprising a part having a curved plane surface of a shape of the combined upper and lower lips, and a handle on said part, said part being transparent.
5. A mouth beautifier comprising a part having a curved plane surface of a shape of the combined upper and loyer lips, and a handle on said part, said part being transparent and made of flexible material.
6. A mouth beautifier comprising a part having an upper edge conforming to the shape of the upper edge of the upper lip, and a lower edge conforming to the shape of the lower edge of the lower lip, said part being curved transversely, but straight longitudinally, and a handle on said part, said handle being attached to the middle of said part and extending radially outwardly therefrom.
7. A mouth beautifier comprising a part having an upper edge conforming to the shape of the upper edge of the upper lip, and a lower edge conforming to the shape of the lower edge of the lower lip, said part being curved transversely, but straight longitudinally, and a handle on said part, said handle being attached to the middle of said part and extending radially outwardly therefrom, said part being made of transparent, flexible material.
8. A mouth beautifier comprising a part having an upper edge conforming to the shape of the upper edge of the upper lip, and a lower edge conforming to the shape of the lower edge of the lower lip, said part being curved transversely, but straight longitudinally, and a handle on said part, said handle comprising a U-shaped portion having arms interconnected by a curved portion, the forward edges of said arms being attached to the outer surface of said applicator part on opposite sides of the mid-portion of said applicator part, said part being made of transparent, flexible material, and said handle extending radially outwardly from said part.
