Description

DANIEL S. BAKER, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND.
WRISTBAND-FASTENER.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 22,274, dated December 14, 1858.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DANIEL S. BAKER, of
Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island` have invented a new and .Improved Tristband-Fastenerg and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying` drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in a metallic spring so constructed and operated as to form a perfect fastener.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the fastener. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal and sectional View.
A in Fig. 2 is the raised part of the shell of the fastener.
B is the flat back which together with the raised part A completes the shell or front of the fastener.
C is the back of the fastener working on the pivot D which pivot D is supported on both sides by uprights attached to the back B.
E is a spring firmly attached to the hollow upright F forming a shoulder at point G against which the heel H of back C bears.
I is a pin attached to the back C working in the hollow upright F.
By bearing on spring E at point J the head H on back C is released from shoulder G allowing back C to turn on pivot D and thereby raising pin I from the hollow up right F releasing the wristband from the fastener. By pressing on back C, the heel Il passes over the shoulder Gv on the spring E and thereby becomes fastened.
lVhat I claim as my invention and wish to secure by Letters Patent is- The spring E firmly attached to the front of the fastener in its application to the heel H, by means of a shoulder Gr and the end J in such manner as to form a perfect fastener gud 1easily operated upon substantially as set ort i.
DANIEL S. BAKER.
Iitnesses A. G. SGHOLFIELD, H. M. SCHOLFIELD.
