lM PROVEMENT IN BOTTLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 222.682, dated December 16, 1879; application' fil d October 27, 1879.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JEREMIAH H. EARLE, of Fall River, of the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bottles; and 1 do hereby declare the same to be described in the .following specification and represented in the cable to others or vessels of like character.
In carrying out my improvement I combine with the bottle, of ordinary shape, a spoonbowl socket and a shank-holdin g projection, as hereinafter explained.
In the drawings, A denotes an apothecarys' vial, having projected from the lower part of its body a cup or socketed projection, B, of
suitable form to receive into it the bowl of a spoon, G, in manner as represented. Above the saidspoon-receiver there is extended from the body, and parallel, or about so, to its side, a projection, D, between which and the body the shank of the spoon is to be inserted, the said projection serving to keep the shank in or about in contact with the body while the bowl may be in the receiver B.
Thus it will. be seen that after having used the spoon, after supplying it with liquid from Q the bottle, such spoon may be supported by the bottle and devices B D, and in case of any liquid running down from or 011' the bowl of the spoon such liquid will be interrupted by the socketed projection B, and thus be prevented from falling or getting on the surface on which the bottle may be resting in an up right position. I
What I claim as my invention is-- I A bottle as made or provided with the spoon receiving and holding projections B D, substantiall y and arranged as set forth.
