What I claim is: I

1. A hair curler consisting of a spindle made at its one end with a body portion and at its opposite end with a handle portion, said body 'portion being made with a pair of relatively parallel longitudinal tines which are spaced apart to provide between them a longitudinal slot that is open at one end and adapted to receive within it a lock of hair, and said tines being made upon their exteriors with longitudinal grooves each adapted to receive one of the jaws of a'bobby pin after a lock of hairhas been'wound upon said tines,'and a lock-holding bow {spring confined in position between said two tines, said bow spring comprising a pair of opposed parallel legs be 'tweenwhich said lock is forced when it is slid into position between said tines and by which said lock is held within said slot While itiis being wound upon said tines.

4. A hair curler consisting of a spindle made at its one end with a pair of longitudinal relatively parallel tines which. are spaced apart to provide between them a longitudinal vslotthat is open at one end and adapted to receive within it a lock of hair, oneiof said tines being made longer than the other and having its extremity beveled upon its inner side to guide a lock of hair into said slot.

5.
