of Fig. l; and
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the invention.
In the embodiment selected to illustrate my invention, I make use of a wire frame it which is bent to provide a half circle i2 to lie within the tub M.
The half circle 52 is bent to provide hooks l6, l8 and 2G, with the hooks l8 and 2B terminating in reaches 22 lying in close relation with the bottom it of the tub and terminating in hooks 26.
The half circle !2 is also bent to provide offset reaches 28, about which the ends of resilient straps 3B are looped. The ends of the straps may be bent back upon themselves and vulcanized as at 32.
The inner ends of the straps 30 comprise integral extensions of the resilient sheet 34, which is preferably elliptical in contour and provided with a central opening 36. The two straps 38 are connected with a cross strap 20, which in turn is connected with two fastening straps 42 having openings 4 for connection with the hooks 26.
In operation, the infant indicated generally at 56 is positioned with its head upon the sheet 35. The head of the infant lies partly within the opening 36 to afford a bracing action therefor. The two straps 42 are brought over the body of the infant and crossed for connection with the hooks 25, at which time the infant is strapped in position. Thus, the infant is supported in a slightly inclined position, with the'head held above the water.
necessity of supporting the child with one hand, thus permitting the use of both hands for bathing purposes. The straps 42 extend underneath the arms of the infant, thus preventing )the child from working out of the support. The hooks it, i8 and 20 have firm connection with the tub.
Without further elaboration, the foregoing will so fully explain my invention that others may, by applying current knowledge, readily adapt the same for use under various conditions of service.
I claim:
1. An infants support comprising a Wire frame bent to provide hooks for detachably connecting the frame with a bathtub, said wire frame being fashioned to provide offset connecting runs, a supporting sheet having an opening for partial reception of the infants head, strap connections between said sheet and said offset connecting runs, said wire having its ends fashioned to provide attaching elements, and strap means connected with said sheet and adapted to pass underneath the arms and over the shoulders Q of the infant for connection with said attaching elements.
2. An infants support comprising a wire frame bent to provide hooks for detachably connecting the frame with a bathtub, a resilient supporting sheet means having an opening for partial reception of the infants head, straps radiating from said supporting sheet means for connection with said frame, and strap means connected with said sheet means adapted to pass underneath the arms and over the shoulders of the infant for connection with said frame, to strap the infant to the supporting sheet means in an inclined position in the bathtub.
