This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a guiding holder for writing implements.
The invention has for an object the construction of a holder as mentioned which is adapted to be mounted upon a pencil and which is capable of being engaged upon ones finger in a manner to assist in holding the writing instrument.
Still further the invention contemplates constructing the guiding holder of a sheet metal body having a strip portion formed in a certain manner to engage about ones finger and continuing into coiled portions adapted to engage upon the writing instrument in a certain manner.
Still further the invention proposes to so arrange the parts that the portion engageable on ones finger is capable of expanding and contracting to be adjusted to fingers of difierent s1zes.
For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.

The guiding holder, for writing implements according to this invention, includes a sheet metal body having a strip portion Ill coiled annularly for engaging about ones finger, one end i! of said strip portion continuing substantially tangential oi the said annular shape and connecting with a section 82 extending at right angles thereto. The other end of the strip l0 continues into a loop portion l5 which is slidably engaged upon an area of the strip portion I0, specifically at the tangential portion II to control the size of the annular shape. In the form of the invention illustrated in Figs.
3 and 4, a modified form is shown in which the 15 right angle portion l2 of the strip portion I0 is separate from and relatively adjustably connected with the tubular socket formed by the coiled side portions 13. At the front end the coiled side portions l3 are formed with a loop 20 portion I8 which slidably engages on the right angle extending portion I2. With this arrangement it is possible to relatively move the sockets formed by the coiled portions l3 and the coiled portions E6. This will facilitate supporting of 25 the pencil or other writing implements. In other respects this form of the invention is similar to the previous form.
In Figs. 5 and 6 another embodiment is disclosed in which there is a strip portion 2? coiled 3 annularly for engaging ones finger and one end of the strip portion continues into a shank portion 28 substantially tangential of the annular shape. This shank portion has side projections 9 and 30 turned into a tubular socket adapted 35 to hold a pencil or other writing implement. The other end 21' of the strip portion is soldered to the adjacent material of the shank 28.
While I have illustrated and described the preferred embodiments of my invention, it is to be 40 understood that I do not limit myself to the precise constructions herein disclosed and the right is reserved to all changes and modifications coming within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims. 45.

A guide holder for writing implements, comprising a sheet metal body having a strip portion coiled annularly for engaging about ones finger, one end of said strip portion extending substantially tangentially outwards, a member having a first tubular socket slidably mounted on said tangential end, the other end of said strip portion continuing into a loop portion slidably engaging an area of said strip portion to control the size of said annular shape, and said strip portion having coiled side portions forming a second tubular socket coaxially with said first socket for assisting in holding said pencil, said member comprising a loop portion for slidably engaging the tangential portion, and lug portions coiled to form said first tubular socket. A guide holder for writing implements, comprising a strip of material having one of its ends coiled for engaging about ones finger, said strip having its other end bent to extend substantially tangentially outwards, side portions continuing from said coil and bent to form a first tubular socket through which a writing implement may be extended, a member having a second tubular socket arranged coaxially with said first tubular socket and through which said writing implement is also adapted to extend, and means for slidably supporting said member on the tangentially extending end of said strip to permit said member to be shifted relative to said first tubular member to cause said tubular members to engage and rigidly hold writing implements of dififerent lengths.
