figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure l of the drawings is a representation of a perspective of my bake-oven, and Fig. 2 is a View showing my device folded up.
Identical parts in the drawings are designated and referred to by the same letters.
My invention relates to portable ovens; and it consists in removable side pieces and the manner of placing and holding them in position; also, in a leaf-top for regulating the heat and closing the oven together in a compact folded condition, forming a packing-box, as will more fully appear herein.
A is the bottom piece of the oven, with flanges a a and a forming sides. The bottom is provided with hinged legs A, for the purpose of giving any desired inclination to the oven. It is also provided with loops a for receiving the angled arms I) of the shelf or rackB.
O are triangular end pieces, provided with the double flange or grooves c, to embrace and rest upon the upper edges of the ends a (I.
These side pieces 0 are also provided with loops 0, toreceive the arms I) of the shelf or rack B, by which means the bottom, the side pieces, the rack, and flange a are securely united and held in proper position.
D is the top of the oven, hinged to the flanged edge a and having three sides, (I, d, and d. The sides (1 d are double flanged in the same manner as the end pieces 0, for the purpose of shutting down securely over the upper edges of O.
O is a leaf-top or extension of the top D, hinged to the front edge of the top, and held in adjustable position by means of the pawl and rack d and d, as shown.
Proper cooking-vessels may be placed on the rack B or on the bottom A.
E is a loop, attached to the bottom A, and, passing through the handle 0 of the end pieces, serves to strengthen the oven, and, extending above the top, serves as handles to the oven while in use.
There is a loop, a in the bottom to receive the hook (I of the pawl, to hold the oven in a box shape. Other camp-eqnipage may be packed in this box, as so constructed, and the same securely closed by means of the bolt f, attached 'to the leaf 0 and entering the loop f of the bottom of the oven.
What I claim is 1. In a portable oven, the side pieces 0, provided with the grooves c, and the loops or handles O in combination with the sides a a of the bottom and d d of the top and the arms I) of the rack or shelf B, as and for the purposes set forth.
2. In a portable oven, the top D, provided with the double-flanged sides at d, and pawl (1 in combination with the leaf-top 0, provided with the rack (1 as and for. the purposes substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in thepresencc of two witnesses.
JAMES WATSON.
