One object of this invention is to provide a bill fold having a novel and improved, simple and accessible secret or normally invisible pocket, in which bills of large denomination or important papers may be concealed from view during normal use`of the bill fold, but which can be conzeniently and quickly opened for access toits con- Another object is to provide such a bill fold in which the secret bill receiving vpocket shall be separable or removable from the main portion or the body of the bill fold for easy and quick insertion of bills or papers in the pocket.

A further object is to provide a bill fold with a secret pocket of the general character described which shall embody novel and improved features of construction whereby the' contents of the secret pocket can be easily and quickly removed without,y

removal of the pocket from the bill fold and Without exposing the contents of the secret pocket.

Another object is to provide such a bill fold wherein a slit or opening shall be provided for access to the contents of the secret pocket, and said'slit or opening shall be normally entirely covered and concealed by other portions of the bill fold.

Other objects, advantages and results of the invention will be brought out by the following de? scription when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bill fold embodying my invention showing the bill fold completely unfolded.

Specically describing the invention, thebill fold comprises a main body I which is shown as consisting of a single piece of leather or the like having its end portions folded and returned as at 2 and 3, the returned portion 2 being secured to and overlying another strip of leather 4or like material l to form a card receiving pocket.. The end portion 3 cooperates with a :flap 5 to form an auxiliary case for identification cards and the like, separable fastener elements Asuch as heads and sockets 6 and 1 being provided for separably connecting the portion 3 to the flap 5.

In accordance with the invention, the bill fold includes a removable or separable bill receiving pocket A which is shown as formed of a singlepiece of leather folded upon itself, with the layers of the fold stitched together at one end as at 8, the pocket thereby being open along one longitudinal edge and at one end, the other longitu- 5 dinal edge constituting the fold 9. An integral closure ap Ill is provided for closing the opening along the longitudinal edge. The end of one layer of the fold extends beyond the corresponding end of the other layer as at II. With this 10 construction, it will be observed that with the pocket removed from the bill fold as shown in Figure 5, the layers of the fold may be separated and bills or other papers B can be easily, quickly inserted into the pocket.

The main body has means for separably or removably securing the pocket A to the main body; holding the closure iiap I0 closed and permitting access to the open end of the pocket.

As shown, two sockets C and D are secured on one side of the main body I in spaced relation longitudinally of the body and with their open ends facing each other. One socket C is shown as comprising two layers I2 and 4 of leather or other suitable material which are secured together v at one end and to one longitudinal edge of the main body portion as indicated at I 5. The opposite longitudinal edges of the layers I2 and 4 are secured together but not directly .to the body I. 'I'heother socket D is shown as comprising two 30 layers of material I6 and I'I which are secured together at one end and to the body I as by stitches I8 and along one longitudinal edge of the body as at I9. The opposite longitudinal edges of the layers I6 and I'I are secured Vtogether but not di- 35 rectly to the body I.

In assembling the secret pocket A on the main body I, one end of the secret pocket is inserted into one of the sockets, for example the left hand socket C in Figure 2, while the other end of the 40 secret pocket is inserted into the other socket D at the right hand side of Figure 2, with the closure flap I0 closed and at the sides of the sockets'opposite those connected to the body I. For limiting the insertion of the secret pocket into the left hand socket C of Figure 2, a line of stitches 20 may be provided connecting the two layers I2 and I 3. To permit access to the secret pocket for removal of its contents while it is connected to the main body, the outer Wall I1 of the right 50 handsocket. D in Figure 2 has a slit or opening 2| in register with the open end of the pocket A.

With this construction, it will be seen that the secret pocket A can be easily and quickly removed from the mam body l for insercion of buis or the likeintothepocket, andcanbeeasilyand quicklyconnectedtothemain withtheopenend ofthepocket-freely accessible forremovaloi'the contentsofthepocket. Whenthe .pocketisconnectedtothemain/body,theclosureilap llis helacledbytiiemeta mpocketbemg' connectedtothem'ainbodyonlybrythesockets,v -andthesocketsbeingconnectedtothemainbody on the outer wall I1 of the corresponding socket by securing to said wall 'a layer 22 of leather or the like with one end 23 oi' said layer free-and adapted to overlie -the slit or opening 2|; If desired, an identiilcation card holder or envelope 2l having transparent walls may be vhingedly connected at one end lto the wall I1', as at 25, so as to be inclosed in the auxiliary case.

Many changes in the details of construction and combinations of other pockets, flaps and the like, will occur to those skilled in the art as being within the scope of my invention.

Having thus described my invention, what claim. is:

1. A bill fold comprising a main body foldable upon itself, and a bill receiving pocket open along.

one longitudinal edgeand one end and having a closure flap for ,said longitudinal opening, and means separately securing said pocket at its ends on one side of said body, holding said closure iiap closed and permitting access to said open end for removal of the contents of said pocket.

2. A bill fold comprising a main body foldable upon itself, and a bill receiving pocket open along one longitudinal edge and one end and having a closure iiap for said longitudinal opening, and

means on said .body for separably receiving and holding the ends of said pocket to removably moimt the .pocket on said body, said means having a slit registering with said open end of the pocket for removal of the contents of the pocket.

A bill fold comprising a main body foldable upon itself, and a bill receiving pocket opal along y one longitudinal edge and one end and having a closure flap for said longitudinal opening, and means on said body i'or separably receiving and holding the ends of said pocket to removably mount the pocket on said body, said means havto and spaced longitudinally of one side of said body with their open ends facing each other,l a bill receiving pocket open at one end and having one end separably ttd into each of said sockets for separably securing'said pocket on said body, oneof said sockets having a slit registering with the open end of said 'pocket for removal of the contents of the pocket.

5. The bill fold set forth in claim 4 wherein said bill receiving ket is alsoopen along one longitudinal edge .and has a closure iiap for .permitting bills to be inserted into said pocket easily when the pocket is separated from said body, and said closure ap is held in closed position by said sockets when the pocket is secured on said body.

6.l The bill fold set forth in claim 4 wherein said sockets'are connected to said body at their ends opposite the openings of the sockets and along. one longitudinal edge of said body and said 'bnl receiving pocket 1s connected to said Vbody only by said pockets, whereby a second bill receiving pocket is formed between said body, said sockets and the rst bill receiving pocket.l
