IM PROVEMENT lN PLOWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 213,878, dated April 1, 1879; application filed November 9, 1878.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES V. DYER, of Elgin, in the county of Bastrop and State of Texas, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Flows; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the an-. nexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of a side elevation of my plow; and Fig. 2 is a rear view, showing the mold-board re- ,rnoved.
My invention relates to a device for removing clay, soil, and the like from the moldboard of plows; and the novelty consists in providing the said mold-board with a slot having an enlarged end, in which operates a scraper-connection. The scraper passes over the face of the mold-board to remove the dirt, 850., clinging thereto, and it is operated by a lever which extends upward behind the moldboard.
Referring to the drawings, A represents the mold-board, and it is provided with a slot, A, having an enlarged portion, a.
B represents the scraper, which passes over the face of the mold-board. It is connected to a lever, G, by a suitable bolt, or otherwise, which device operates in the slot. The enlarged portion a of the slot allows the dirt, 850., pressed down from the slot to fall through. The other parts of the plow are of ordinary construction and form no part of this invention.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The plow-attachment for cleaning the moldboard of plows described, consisting of the said mold-board A, having slot A a, the scraper B, lever O, and their connections, as and for the purpose set forth.
