The purpose of this invention is to provide means for easing or relieving the pressure between the supporting means of a garment, supported from the waist, at the back of the wearer 5 ofthe garment, which is positioned on the inside of the garment being supported and between the garment and other inner garments.

The invention is a device in the form of a belt formed with longitudinal strands of horse hair held in position by layers of material, preferably of the type that is impervious to moisture, with the edges thereof held by suitable binding, and in which the binding is used as the supporting means for holding the device in position.

Garments of this type, which are supported by belts or other means exert pressure on the wearer, particularly across the back, and this causes a pressure on the kidneys and other organs which is injurious to health, and therefore it is desired to provide a belt which will extend across the back and to the hip bones at the sides which eliminates this pressure and, at the same time, provides comfort to the wearer.

The object of the invention is, therefore, to

provide a simple belt that may be inserted on the inside of a garment, which will extend across the back, which will relieve the pressure of a belt or other supporting means.

Another object is to provide a health belt to relieve the pressure of supporting means and which does not causet heat to develop while in use.

Another object is to provide a health belt to be worn inside of a garment supported at the Waist which is impervious to moisture.

A further object is to provide a health belt adapted to be worn inside of a garment which provides a cushion for the back and extends to the hips at the sides providing a relatively soft contact and relieving the pressure of the supporting means.

And a still further object is to provide a health belt adapted to be worn across the back of a garment supported at the waist, which is relatively simple and economical.

With these ends in view the invention embodies a belt formed of layers of material with horse hairs held in position therebetween with diagonal and cross stitching with suitable binding lat the edges.

Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description, taken in connection with the drawing, wherein:

Figure 1 is a View showing a side elevation of the belt with part broken away showing the interior thereof.

Figure 2 is a view showing the belt in place as it is used across the back and on the interior of a pair of trousers.

Figure 3 is a view showing a cross section through the belt on an enlarged scale.

In the drawing the belt is shown as it may be made wherein numeral I indicates horse hair within the belt, numerals 2 and 3 material forming the sides of the belt and numerals 4 and 5 binding at the upper and lower edges thereof, and extending continuously around the belt. The belt is formed primarily of horse hair which forms a cushion and this is bound by layers of waterproof material 2 and 3 at the sides with the horse hair held in place by diagonal stitching, as indicated by the numeral 6, which is crossed upward and downward throughout the length of the belt. 'I'he continuous binding is provided around the edges which, in the design shown, is held by stitching 1 and 8 although it will be understood that it may be held by any other means.

The belt may be made of any desired width or length, however, it is preferred to use a length suflicient to extend across the back and around the sides to the hips so that it forms a cushion between the inner surface of the garment and the body, and the belt may be used as shown in Figure 2 with the binding stitched to the inner surface of the garment as shown at the points 9 and l0 and with the ends extended to the points Il and l2 which correspond with the hips or approximately one-half of the way around the sides.

It will be understood that other changes may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. One of which changes may be in the use or any number of layers of horse hair or material, another may be in the use of a belt of different widths or lengths or in the changing of the relative proportions of the width or length, and still another may bein the use of other means for holding the horse hairs in place or for binding the edges thereof.

The construction will be readily understood from the foregoing description. In use these belts may be provided and sold in separate units to individuals or may be incorporated within garments or used or sold in any manner or by any means, and when in use the belt forms a cushion between the inner part of the garment and the body relieving the pressure as hereinbefore described.

Having thus fully described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
