Section 9 is formed with a series of longitudinal fail to register with the opening I8 in the strike plate due to sagging of the door or other conditions, it is merely necessary to grip the connecting web l9 with a pair of pliers and exert a slight outward pull thereon against the tension of the springs 26 until the teeth on the attaching plate and strike plate become disengaged when, by moving the strike plate l6 either vertically or laterally of the door jamb, the opening l3 in the strike plate may be properly alined with the sliding lock bolt of the door look, as will be readily understood. When the proper adjustment of the strike plate has been effected, the springs 2-1 will automatically return the strike plate iii to normal position and in which position the teeth will interengage and prevent further movement of said strike plate.
While it is preferred to make the attaching plate in two sections, it will, of course, be understood that said attaching plate may be of integral 20 construction, if desired. It will also be understood that the lcck strikes may be made in different sizes and shapes to accommodate any style or type of door without departing from the spirit of the invention.
