The primary object of my invention is to provide a clothes hanger with keepers adapted to press against a horizontal member thereby preventing a garment on the clothes hanger from sliding off or being displaced.

Another object of my invention is to provide a clothes hanger that may be used in the ordinary way to hang coats, skirts, dresses and trousers, and also to provide means to clamp a garment thereto to prevent it from being dislodged from the hanger.

Still other objects and advantages of the improvement will appear in the further description thereof.

Referring to the accompanying drawing form- L ing part of this application in which like reference characters indicate like parts:

Figure 1 is a front elevation view.

Figure 2 is a side view showing the keepers In in a clamped position.

Figure 4 is a side view of Figure 3.

The numeral I represents a horizontal member fastened to the frames 5 in such a manner that the frames 5 cannot twist or turn. The frames 5 extend upward and are formed into loops 4, and continue upward and form further loops 3, and extend upward from the loops 3, as indicated by the numeral 2, and twisted together at l with one of the frames 5 forming the hook 8.

The loops 4 have fastened thereto oval shaped loops I5 with the lower end of the oval shaped loops superimposed on the frames 5. The purpose of the oval loops is to prevent a coat or skirt or other garment placed over the frames 5 from wrinkling or being creased when suspended on the hanger.

A keeper 9 comprising arms H) which arms are inserted through the loops 3 with the lower ends formed into loops l I. The arms are bent at right angles at the top so that when the keeper is in a clamped position this bent portion will rest in a level transverse position with the loops 3. The arms extend at an angle at the top and are twisted together as indicated by the numeral l3 with one of the arms extending and forming the loops l4. 7

The arms In of the keeper 9 are made long enough to extend beyond the center of the horizontal member I so that when in a clamped position the center of the loops H will rest against the center of the horizontal member.

The device is operated as follows:

When the device is in the position as indicated in Figure 3, a garment I2 is placed over the hori- The keeper 3 is then pushed forward and when the bent position at the top of the arms I0 is placed in a transverse position in the loops 3, the loop portion I4 is brought forward and hooked around the lower portion of the hook 8 thereby clamping the garment l2 against the horizontal member I.

What I claim is:

A clothes hanger comprising a horizontal member, a frame with a hook portion connected to the horizontal member and extending upward therefrom, said frame provided with loops on the upper portion, a U shaped keeper extending through the said loops in a direction transverse to said horizontal member and adapted to lock to the hook portion of the frame to cause the lower portion of the keeper to press against the horizontal member.
