TOY VEHICLE WITH SPARK PRODUCING DEVICE Filed Nov. 1, 1935 I I I I 1 5 I I I l l I I I I I 2&0" o I I I I I m J l I l T I I I L I J12 vazzZor:
Patented Apr. 13, 1937 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE TOY VEHICLE WITH SPARK PRODUGING DEVICE Carl Arnold, Nuremberg, Germany 3 Claims.
The invention relates to a toy vehicle, for instance in the form of an armoured car, tank or the like with spark producing device and characterlzed in that during the running of the cara turret fitted with gun barrels is rotated by suitable means, a spark producing device also rotated being actuated at the same time. By this arrangement the sparks produced are thrown during the running of the car towards all sides from the turret, whereby a perfect effect is obtained.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawingin which:-
Fig. 1 shows the toy in section.
Fig. 2 is a top planview of the toy, the turret being removed.
The vehicle a is propelled by a spring motor b which at the same time serves for actuating the spark producing device and for rotating this device and also the armoured turret. With this object in view a bridge c is fixed on the casing of the spring motor I). This bridge 0 has a rivet d, ing or the like. Through the bridge and the rivet d an axle g, carrying a crown wheel 1, is loosely guided and engages by a gear h with the spring motor b. The crown wheel 1 in turn rotates different pinions and gear wheels i by which the spark producing mechanism It is actuated. By the crown wheel gear I and parts, g, h, i a rapid rotation is communicated to the spark producing mechanism. The gears Li and the spark producing device are rotatabiy mounted in and enclosed by a casing l arrangedon a star-shaped plate m. This plate m is loosely movable on the rivet d and is turned by a cam disc n or the like, situated on the outer side of the casing of the spring motor, and driven from the spring motor so that v the star-shaped plate rotates together with the gears f, i, and the spark device.
40 An armoured turret o is mounted on the spark device casing and gun barrels project from the same. This turret 0 has apertures 17 through which the sparks are thrown out. It rotates with the casing and is guided in an aperture q 45 of the toy vehicle a.
If the driving mechanism b has been wound, the
the crown wheel gear and a rotating movement of the star-shaped plate, the spark casing and the armoured turret are obtained. The sparks produced by the spark producing mechanism are rotated and produce a splendid effect.
I ciaim:--
1. A toy vehicle in the form of' an armoured car, tank or the like, comprising a spring motor adapted to propel the toy, a casing rotatably mounted on said motor, a crown wheel drive driven by said motor, a spark producing device in said casing actuated by said crown wheel drive, a rivet at the bottom of said casing, a star wheel loosely mounted on said rivet and rigidly connected with said casing, and a cam disc, driven by said motor and adapted to rotate said star wheel, said casing and said spark producing device.
2. In a toy vehicle as specified in claim 1, an armoured tower removably flttedon said casing and having apertures for the passage of the sparks, said armature. being rotated with 'said casing through the intermediary of said star wheel and said cam disc.
3. A toy vehicle as specified in claim 1, in which the rivet carrying the star wheel is 'arranged on a bridge fixed on the spring motor and a crown wheel axle of the crown wheel drive actuating the sparking device extends through said rivet.
