IMPROVEMENT IN BAG-HOLDERS.
Specifica-tion forming part of Letters Patent No. 203,891, dated May 21,1878; application filed March 26, 187B.

In the drawing, A is a standard supported by the feet B, which consist of two bars apertured in the middle to receive the lower end of the standard that forms a pivot on which the bars swing. A sliding support, C, is placed on the standard A, and provided with a thumbscrew, a, for clamping it in any desired position. To this support an arm, D, is pivoted, which is offset or dropped down at its outer end, and is provided with a pivot, b, upon which is placed an L-shaped piece, E, which supports the bar F. The bar F has upon each end a clip, a', for receiving the rightangled bars G, which are provided with clips b', which embrace the bar F, forming a sliding joint, which permits of moving the right-angled bars G out or in on the bar F.
Upon the forward ends of the angled bars G there are clips o, for receiving the short bars H, which are provided with clips d, that em- -brace the angled bars G and form a sliding joint. The out-er ends of the bars H, the corners ofthe rightangled bars G, and the back of the bar F are provided with spurs e, for receiving the edges of the mouth of the bag to be Iilled.
The frame composed of the bars F G H may be extended or contracted to adapt it to bags of different sizes, and it may be adjusted to any desired height on the standard A..
When the holder is used in connection with a thrashing-machine the standard is fastened to the frame of the thrashing-machine, so that the holder may be raised or lowered in accordance with the length ofthe sack. The feet B are then dispensed with.
Having thus fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination, with a frame, F G H, of the pivoted an gle-bars D E, slide C, and standard A', the latter pivoted in the base B, as and for the purpose specied.
