BENJAMIN G. FROBISHER, OF BROOKTON, ASSIGNOR TO BEGELOW O. MORSE,
OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
IMPROVEMENT IN BRUSHES.
V Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 203,256, dated May '7, 1878; application filed May 19, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN C. FROB- ISHER, of Brockton, in the county of Plymouth, State of Massachusetts, have invented certain Improvements in Stencil-Brushes, of which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to provide a fountain stencil-brush; and it consists in a fountain from which the ink can be supplied at will by means of a piston, in combination with an outer casing, by which the length of the bristles exposed can be regulated, and'a cap, by which the end of said casing can be closed when not in use, whereby a safe and convenient implement that can be carried in the pocket is produced.
In the accompanying drawing the figure represents a vertical central section of my inare secured and substantially fastened. In the center of the bristles is arranged a tube, H, having in its sides the perforations a. a, through which the ink from the, reservoir can be forced by forcing down the piston. 1 represents an outer casing, arranged on the exterior of the tubular reservoir, and adapted to slide thereon in such manner that it can be moved down over the brushes to regulate the length of the exposed bristles to impart the requisite stiffness to the bristles, which is sometimes essential. This outer casing can be so adjusted as to entirely cover the bristles, when the removable cap J can be slipped over the end of the said outer casing, thereby permitting the device to be carried in the pocket, and furnishing a most simple and very convenient fountain stencil-brush.
Having described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,
The combination of the brush, provided with screw-threaded thimble F and tube H, with cylinder A, piston B, casing I, and cap J, substantially as described.
