Appearance and general ambient feel have become more important to people seeking refuge from their increasingly stressful lives.
- An improved bath tub is needed that could be installed in a standard bathroom, but which allows the user to determine the size, shape and level of customization, adding the desired amount of decorative materials to produce a beautiful and restful or stimulating experience.

Abstract
A customizable bath tub and method of manufacture which provides decorative bath tubs in standard sizes, which may be customized to appeal to a wide variety of users using such materials as stone, tile, granite and marble and may additionally incorporate lighting and sound installations and be built in a wide variety of shapes and sizes to create custom ambient surroundings.
Description
- The present invention relates to custom bath tubs. More particularly, this invention relates to customizable bath tubs and their method of manufacture. These bath tubs are available in standard sizes but may be customized to appeal to a wide variety of users using such materials as stone, tile, granite and marble and additionally may incorporate lighting and sound installations to create custom ambient surroundings in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
- Many different types of bath tubs exist, most being of standard size and composition. Mass produced bath tubs exist to easily fit into any bath room. They are generally made of thermo-formed acrylic, fiberglass-reinforced polyester or porcelain-enameled steel in an effort to minimize cost, Many people, however are looking for more. Appearance and general ambient feel have become more important to people seeking refuge from their increasingly stressful lives.
- An improved bath tub is needed that could be installed in a standard bathroom, but which allows the user to determine the size, shape and level of customization, adding the desired amount of decorative materials to produce a beautiful and restful or stimulating experience.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved customizable bath tub.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide a new and improved customizable bath tub which may be constructed in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide a new and improved customizable bath tub which may be constructed incorporating a wide variety of decorative materials.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide a new and improved customizable bath tub which may be constructed to incorporate ambient sound and lighting systems.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide method of manufacturing a new and improved customizable bath tub which may be constructed in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

FIG. 3 is an elevation view the inside of the customizable bath tub showing another embodiment of the present invention. - It is to be understood that variations and modifications of the present invention may be made without departing from the scope thereof. It is also to be understood that the present invention is not to be limited by the specific embodiments disclosed herein, but only in accordance with the appended claims when read in light of the foregoing specification.
Claims (12)
1. A customizable bath tub, comprising:
plywood that has been cut to the desired shape and size;
said plywood assembled to the desired shape and size;
water proof liquid applied to all surfaces of said plywood;
decorative substances applied where desired to said plywood using thin set mud;
plastic water proof grout applied to said decorative substances;
clear liquid plastic acrylic, preferably one quarter inch thick, poured over all surfaces to create smooth surfaces and completely seal the base of said bath tub;
the top surface of said bath tub finished with AZEK brand water proof material;
said top and the face said of said bath tub sprayed with any type of water base color.
2. The customizable bath tub according to claim 1 , in which said decorative substance is stone.
3. The customizable bath tub according to claim 1 , in which said decorative substance is tile.
4. The customizable bath tub according to claim 1 , in which said decorative substance is marble.
5. The customizable bath tub according to claim 1 , in which said decorative substance is granite.
6. The customizable bath tub according to claim 1 , in which said decorative substance is mosaic tile.
7. A method of making a customizable bath tub comprising:
cutting plywood to the desired shape and size;
assembling said plywood to the desired shape and size;
applying water proof liquid to all surfaces of said plywood;
applying decorative substances where desired to said plywood using thin set mud;
applying plastic water proof grout to said decorative substances;
pouring clear liquid plastic acrylic, preferably one quarter inch thick, over all surfaces to create smooth surfaces and completely seal the base of the bath;
finishing said top surface of said bath with AZEK brand water proof material;
spraying said top and the face of said bath with any type of water base color.
8. The method of making a customizable bath tub according to claim 7 , in which said decorative substance is stone.
9. The method of making a customizable bath tub according to claim 7 , in which said decorative substance is tile.
10. The method of making a customizable bath tub according to claim 7 , in which said decorative substance is marble.
11. The method of making a customizable bath tub according to claim 7 , in which said decorative substance is granite.
12. The method of making a customizable bath tub according to claim 7 , in which said decorative substance is mosaic tile.
