the seat being able to go from an unfolded position to a folded position, by folding the third part into contact with the second part, and the assembly formed by the second part and the third part then being folded into contact with the first part, this assembly cooperates at the fastening rings, with the fastening strap via the fastening elements,
the seat also being provided with other fastening straps, the modularity of the fastening straps allowing the seat to acquire a function of child carrier if necessary, the assembly of the fastening straps allowing to form at least three fastening points on the chair, the umbrella stroller or the rolling suitcase,
the seat also being provided with a harness allowing to maintain the child in the seat, and lateral safety straps.

Description

    TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The field of the invention is the movement of children and child seats, more particularly in mobile use.
  • The parents of infants are quickly confronted with the question of knowing how to seat their children. “Sedentary” child seats must be stable in order to prevent their turning over when children are placed therein. Sedentary child seats must also be enveloping in order to avoid children being able to get out of their seat on their own. These aspects generally impose that these seats be imposing and must be disassembled to be transported.
  • Nevertheless, seating children remains a problem when mobile and outside of the home. In these moments, it is not possible to use sedentary child seats.
  • Therefore, a mobile seat having the capacity to become a child carrier allows easy transport of the seat and of the child at the same time. For multi-child families, the capacity to add it as an additional seat on an umbrella stroller without having to take another accessory allows savings in terms of time and space with an additional seat just as secure as the seat of the stroller via a five-point harness.
  • Moreover, it is known to use booster seats to sit children on an adult chair, in the absence of a suitable child seat. Nevertheless, their use is limited to certain situations outside of the home in which an adult chair is available. It does not therefore apply to other mobility situations. In addition, the seat provided by such booster seats does not allow to respect the morphology of the child or to seat a child that is too young because of the absence of a harness or of a backrest allowing to maintain it laterally in place.
  • There is therefore a need for a child carrier and child seat providing a seat for a child that is traveling or outside of the home and which respects the morphology thereof.
  • DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
  • The object of the invention is a foldable child seat to be fastened onto a chair, an umbrella stroller or a rolling suitcase, comprising:
  • a first part intended to be in contact with the back of the child, a second part intended to form the seat of the seat and a third part intended to be in contact with the feet of the child,
  • the first part comprises a ring fastener near a first edge and a fastener on an edge opposite to the first edge of the second part also via rings, the second part comprising a ring fastener on an edge opposite to the first edge at a first edge of the third part, a fastening strap provided with fastening elements at its ends making the opposite rings joined,
  • the seat being able to go from an unfolded position to a folded position, by folding the third part into contact with the second part, and the assembly formed by the second part and the third part then being folded into contact with the first part, this assembly cooperates at the fastening rings, with the fastening strap via the fastening elements,
  • the seat also being provided with other fastening straps, the modularity of the fastening straps allowing the seat to acquire a function of child carrier if necessary, the assembly of the fastening straps allowing to form at least three fastening points on the chair, the umbrella stroller or the rolling suitcase,
  • the seat also being provided with a harness allowing to maintain the child in the seat.

  • The seat can form a child carrier and the fastening straps can become the shoulder straps and the maintaining belt of this child carrier.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The child seat according to the invention is a transportable and foldable seat made of three parts rigidly connected two by two, a first back part, a second seat part and a third protective part. The three parts can be made from any materials, in particular plastic, textile, synthetic, polystyrene or a combination of materials.
  • The seat is foldable in a reduced format. The figure [FIG. 1 ] illustrates the seat 1 in a folded position, in which the various parts are maintained by a first fastening strap 3 provided with two fastening elements 4 disposed at each end of the strap. It is thus possible to use the fastening elements 4 as follows: one of the ends of the strap being connected to the rings 26 and 28 while the other end cooperates with the rings 27 and 29 by these fastening elements 4 so as to maintain the seat 1 in a folded transport position when it is not used. The fastening element 3 can be adjustable. The fastening elements 4 can form in particular a quick-release buckle.
  • The figure [FIG. 2A] is a view of a first face of the seat 1 in an unfolded position, in which the parts 2 a, 2 b, 2 c are unfolded. As specified above, the seat 1 comprises a first part 2 a intended to be in contact with the back of the child, a second part 2 b intended to form the seat of the seat and a third part 2 c intended to be in contact with the feet of the child. Each part 2 a, 2 b, 2 c comprises a first face and a second face opposite to the first face. In the figure [FIG. 2A], the first face of each part 2 a, 2 b, 2 c is visible, while in the figure [FIG. 2B], the second face of each part 2 a, 2 b, 2 c is visible.
  • In reference once again to the figure [FIG. 2A], it is visible that the first face of the first part 2 a comprises a fastening near a first edge by the rings 26, 27 and a fastening on an edge opposite to the first edge of the first face of the second part 2 b by the rings 28 and 29. The first face of the second part 2 b comprises a fastening on an edge opposite to the first edge at a first edge of the first face of the third part 2 c. It is thus understood that when the seat goes from an unfolded position to a folded position, the third part 2 c is folded into contact with the second part 2 b, and the assembly formed by the second part 2 b and the third part 2 c is then folded into contact with the first part 2 a. The seat in a folded position as illustrated by the figure [FIG. 1 ] is thus obtained. The second face of the first part 2 a, the second face of the second part 2 b and the second face of the third part 2 c are thus protected. It is understood that the first face of the seat is intended to be in contact with a suitcase or a chair, the second face of the seat being intended to be in contact with the child.
  • Still in the figure [FIG. 2A], a fastening strap 42 that joins with the second face of the lower part of 2 a in order to form the lateral straps 18 of a five-point harness is visible. Such a positioning of the fastener allows to ensure better comfort for the child who does not perceive the fastener, while reinforcing the solidity.
  • Also in the figure [FIG. 2A], in the part 2 a several fastening rings 26, 27, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and in the part 2 b the fastening rings 28, 29, 36 and 37 are visible, all intended to receive the fastening straps 3, 40 and 41 for the use and the fastening of the seat in its various operating modes: child carrier, seat on a rolling suitcase, booster seat and additional seat on an umbrella stroller. A person skilled in the art will understand that the fastening rings 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37 are independent from one another in operation. Various fastening modes of the invention can thus comprise all or a part of these rings. The fastening two by two of the rings 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37 onto the fabric by the stationary straps 42, 43, 44 and 45 ensures additional solidity in all the operating modes.
  • The fastening straps 3, 40 and 41 are illustrated in the figure [FIG. 2C]. They can be made from any materials, in particular nylon, plastic, textile, synthetic, or a combination of materials. A combination of materials can house a shock-absorbing material. They become rigidly connected to the seat and to its various supports: human being, chair, umbrella stroller or rolling suitcase, by fastening elements placed at each end of the straps. Thus the fastening elements 4 at the ends of the strap 3, the fastening elements 38 at the ends of the strap 40 and the fastening elements 39 at the end of the strap 41 are visible. These fastening elements can form in particular quick-release buckles. The straps 40 can cooperate with the strap 41 via the straps 46 a and 46 b and their complementary fastening elements 47 a at the end of the strap 46 a and 47 b at the end of the strap 46 b. These complementary fastening elements can be quick-release buckles.
  • Moreover, still in the figure [FIG. 2A], the first part 2 a is provided with three housings 12, 12 a, and 12 b. The housing 12 like a storage pouch with a possibility of opening and closing. The housings 12 a and 12 b like a pouch, in each of which a shock-absorbing material, rigid or an inflatable cushion, is disposed. The second part 2 b is also provided with housings 13 a, 13 b, in each of which a shock-absorbing material or an inflatable cushion is disposed. More precisely, a first housing 13 a is disposed in contact with the first face of the second part 2 b of the seat. The first housing 13 a is visible in the figure [FIG. 2A]. A second housing 13 b is disposed in contact with the second face of the second part 2 b of the seat. A person skilled in the art will understand that the housings 12, 12 a, 12 b, 13 a, 13 b are independent from one another, in structure like in function. Various embodiments of the invention can thus comprise all or a part of these housings. In one embodiment not illustrated, the third part 2 c can comprise at least one housing provided with an opening system for example a zipper located on the opposite edge of the third part 2 c. This housing like a storage pouch can be intended to place the straps not used in a folded transport position.
  • The figure [FIG. 2B] is a view of a second face of the seat 1 in an unfolded position. First fastening means 26 and 27 allowing, inter alia, to fasten upper straps of a five-point harness are visible. Second fastening means 11 allow to fasten the stationary strap 42 and lateral straps 18 of the five-point harness at the opposite border of the first part 2 a. Third fastening means 16 allow to fasten a crotch strap of the five-point harness in a central part of the second part 2 b. These fastening means can be enlarged.
  • The fastening means 11, 16, 26, 27 can be of the repositionable or via sewing type. For reasons of clarity, the straps of the five-point harness also are not illustrated in this drawing.
  • Various modes of use of the seat will now be described. The figures [FIG. 3A] and [FIG. 3B] illustrate the use of the seat on a rolling suitcase with one or two branches. Rolling suitcase means a suitcase provided with a retractable handle and with at least two wheels allowing to roll the suitcase by the side of the user or behind them while holding the handle.
  • The figure [FIG. 4 ] illustrates the use of the seat on a chair, the figure [FIG. 5 ] illustrates the use of the seat on an umbrella stroller. Umbrella stroller means a stroller consisting of a canvas stretched by a foldable chassis. The figure [FIG. 6 ] illustrates the use of the seat in a child carrier function.
  • In reference to the figure [FIG. 3A], it is visible that the seat is disposed on a rolling suitcase 20, the handle 21 of which is fastened to a branch connecting it in a retractable manner to the suitcase.
  • In the rest of the present description, the elements forming the suitcase 20 to which reference is made are defined for a suitcase disposed so that the branch connecting the handle to the suitcase is vertical. The branch is considered to be near the rear face of the suitcase.
  • The first part 2 a is disposed against the branch connecting the handle 21 to the suitcase 20. The second part 2 b is disposed on the upper face of the suitcase 20, while the third fabric part 2 c is disposed against the front face of the suitcase 20.
  • The first fastening strap 3 is disposed parallel to the branch of the suitcase 20, and is rigidly connected to the handle 21.
  • Likewise, the fastening straps 40 and 41 are unwound from the fastening rings 28 and 29 over all or a part of the upper, front, and lower face and on the rear face of the suitcase so as to cooperate with the fastening rings 34 and 35. The straps 40 and 41 cooperate with the rings 28, 29, 34 and 35 via the fastening elements 38 and 39 disposed at their respective ends.
  • In reference to the figure [FIG. 3B], it is visible that the seat is disposed on a rolling suitcase 20, the handle 21 of which is fastened to two branches connecting it in a retractable manner to the suitcase.
  • The first part 2 a is disposed against the branches connecting the handle 21 to the suitcase 20. The second part 2 b is disposed on the upper face of the suitcase, while the third fabric part 2 c is disposed against the front face of the suitcase.
  • The first fastening strap 3 is disposed parallel to the branch of the suitcase, and is rigidly connected to the handle 21.
  • Likewise, the fastening straps 40 and 41 are unwound from the fastening rings 28 and 29 over all or a part of the upper, front, and lower face and on the rear face of the suitcase so as to cooperate with the fastening rings 34 and 35. The straps 40 and 41 cooperate with the rings 28, 29, 34 and 35 via the fastening elements 38 and 39 disposed at their respective ends. The straps 40 and 41 cooperate via the straps 46 a and 46 b. The straps 46 a and 46 b are unwound behind the branches of the suitcase and cooperate via the complementary fastening elements 47 a and 47 b disposed at their respective ends. In the figures [FIG. 3A] and [FIG. 3B] the repositionable and adjustable in length straps 54 that cooperate by the fastening elements 55 located at their ends with the part 2 a of the seat by the fastening rings 30 and 31, and with the part 2 b of the seat by the rings 36 and 37, are visible. In this manner, these straps guarantee additional lateral security for the seat.
  • In reference to the figure [FIG. 4 ], it is visible that the seat is disposed on a chair 24, 25, 26, provided with a seat 24, a backrest 25 and feet 26.
  • The first part 2 a is disposed against the backrest 25 of the chair. The second part 2 b is disposed on the seat 24 of the chair, while the third part 2 c is disposed at least partly on the seat 24 of the chair. It is understood that the third part 2 c can extend at least partly beyond the seat 24.
  • The first fastening strap 3 is disposed transversely to the backrest and cooperates with two fastening elements 4 disposed at its ends, they themselves cooperate with the seat by the fastening rings 30 and 31. It is thus possible to form a buckle with the first fastening strap 3.
  • Likewise, the strap 40 is unwound under the seat of the chair. The strap 40 cooperates via the fastening elements 38 disposed at its respective ends with the fastening rings 36 and 37.
  • The strap 41 is unwound behind the backrest 25 of the chair on which the first part 2 a of the seat is disposed. The strap 41 cooperates via the fastening elements 39 disposed at its respective ends with the fastening rings 34 and 35.
  • It can be seen that the repositionable and adjustable in length straps 54 cooperate by their fastening elements 55 located at their ends with the part 2 a of the seat by the fastening rings 30 and 31, and with the part 2 b of the seat by the rings 36 and 37. In this manner, these straps guarantee additional lateral security for the seat.
  • It can also be seen that an additional seat element is disposed in the second housing 13 b of the second part 2 b. This additional seat element allows to compensate for the difference in shape between the anatomy of the child placed in the seat and the upper face of the suitcase or the seat of the chair. Similarly, other additional elements can be inserted into the housings 12 a and 12 b in order to compensate for the difference in shape between the anatomy of the child placed in the seat and the at least one branch of the suitcase or the backrest of the chair. Alternatively, an inflatable cushion can be substituted for the additional seat element. In a specific embodiment, an inflatable cushion disposed in the first housing 13 a of the second part 2 b of the seat allows to correctly position a child with respect to the top of a table by compensating for the difference in size of their chest with respect to that of an adult of which the table and the chair are provided. When they are provided with an inflatable cushion, the housings 12 a, 12 b, 13 a, 13 b have an extensible nature allowing to adapt it once inflated. Moreover, by being able to be deflated, such an inflatable cushion allows easy folding of the seat.
  • In a non-illustrated specific embodiment, the chair comprises a backrest at least partly hollowed out. The first fastening strap 3 can thus be fastened by cooperating by the fastening elements 4 with the fastening rings 30 and 31, by forming a buckle on the upper part of the backrest through a recess.
  • In reference to the figure [FIG. 5 ], it is visible that the seat is disposed on an umbrella stroller 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, provided with a seat 46, a backrest 47, a hood 48, a handle 49, a leg rest 50, a chassis 51, a basket 52, and wheels 53.
  • Umbrella stroller means a stroller consisting of a canvas stretched by a foldable chassis in a reduced format in order to transport it easily.
  • The first part 2 a is maintained by the tension of the straps 40 and 41. The second part 2 b of the seat is disposed against the seat 46 of the stroller while the third part 2 c is disposed at least partly against the leg rest 50 of the stroller. It is understood that the third part 2 c can extend at least partly beyond the leg rest 50.
  • The first fastening strap 3 is disposed transversely under the seat 46 and cooperates via the fastening elements 4 with the fastening rings 36 and 37.
  • The strap 40 is unwound around the chassis 51 of the stroller while running along the back of at least a part of the outer edge of the backrest and of the seat of the stroller. The strap 40 cooperates via the fastening elements 38 located at its ends with the fastening rings 30 for the upper fastener and 28 for the lower fastener.
  • Likewise, the strap 41 is unwound around the chassis 51 of the stroller while running along the back of at least a part of the outer edge of the backrest and of the seat of the stroller. The strap 41 cooperates via the fastening elements 39 located at its ends with the fastening rings 31 for the upper fastener and 29 for the lower fastener.
  • It is understood that the straps 40 and 41 are unwound at the chassis in an opposite manner, each running along an outer edge, so as to ensure a lateral fastening on either side of the stroller.
  • Thus, the fastened seat allows to securely carry a second child on an umbrella stroller with the five-point harness. In a specific embodiment not illustrated the seat has lateral security barriers. These security barriers can be adjustable and repositionable maintaining straps.
  • In reference to the figure [FIG. 6 ], the use of the seat as a child carrier, with the child carried against the chest and the stomach of its wearer, face to face, is visible.
  • The first part 2 a is disposed against the back of the child, the second part 2 b is disposed at the pelvis of the child, while the third part 2 c is disposed at least partly against the front face of the pelvis of the wearer. It is understood that the third part 2 c can extend at least partly beyond the pelvis of the wearer.
  • The first fastening strap 3 is disposed around the pelvis of the wearer (or their abdomen) and cooperates with two fastening elements 4 disposed at its ends. Its fastening elements 4 cooperate in turn with the fastening rings 36 and 37. It is thus possible to form a belt that ensures the maintaining of the seat of the baby.
  • The straps 40 and 41 are unwound behind the back of the wearer and cooperate respectively by the fastening elements 38 and 39, located at the ends of the straps, with the fastening rings 31 and 30 for their upper fasteners and the fastening rings 33 and 32 for their lateral fasteners.
  • The strap 46 a cooperates with the strap 46 b via the complementary fastening elements 47 a and 47 b. These straps ensure the security and the cooperation of the straps 40 and 41 and also comfort in the distribution of the forces.
  • It is thus understood that the assembly formed by the seat 1 and the straps 3, 40, 41 allows to maintain the child against its wearer securely while physiologically maintaining them.
  • It is also understood that in each of the embodiments illustrated by the figures [FIG. 3A] and [FIG. 3B], the first fastening strap 3 is tied around the handle 21. Other embodiments are possible in which the first fastening strap 3 is rigidly connected to the handle 21 by other fastening means (repositionable strip, links, . . . ).
  • In the various embodiments illustrated by the figures [FIG. 3A], [FIG. 3B], [FIG. 4 ] and [FIG. 5 ], it is understood that three fastening points result from the positioning and the fastening of the fastening straps 3, 40 and 41. These three fastening points allow to rigidly connect the seat onto the suitcase, the stroller or the chair.
  • The fastening straps 3, 40, 41 also allow easy transport of the seat in a folded position either over the shoulder or while being fastened onto a suitcase.
  • Likewise, the materials present in the housings 12 a, 12 b, 13 b made respectively in the first part 2 a for the first two and in the second part 2 b for the last one allow to compensate for the difference in shape between the anatomy of the child placed in the seat and the surface of the suitcase or of the chair against which the first part 2 a or the second part 2 b, respectively, is disposed.
  • The five-point harness allows to maintain the child in the seat and on the suitcase, the chair or the stroller and is adaptable to take into account the various sizes and morphologies. It can comprise a shock-absorbing reinforcement in the pelvis area and at the pectoral straps.
  • As presented above, each part 2 a, 2 b, 2 c of the seat has a first face and a second face. The first face is substantially intended to be in contact with the outside while the second face is intended to be in contact with the child. In a specific embodiment, the materials used for each face are different. Materials resistant to abrasion and/or impermeable and/or water-repellent are thus preferred for the first face of the various parts.
  • Likewise, soft and/or hypoallergenic and/or impermeable and/or water-repellent materials are preferred for the second face of the various parts.

Claims (14)

1. Foldable child seat to be fastened onto a chair, an umbrella stroller or a rolling suitcase, characterised by the fact that it comprises:
a first part (2 a) intended to be in contact with the back of the child, a second part (2 b) intended to form the seat of the seat and a third part (2 c) intended to be in contact with the feet of the child,
the first part (2 a) comprises a ring fastener (26 and 27) near a first edge and a fastener on an edge opposite to the first edge of the second part (2 b) via rings (28 and 29), the second part (2 b) comprising a fastener on an edge opposite to the first edge at a first edge of the third part (2 c), a fastening strap (3) provided at its ends with fastening elements (4) making the rings (26 and 27) of the first edge of the first part (2 a) cooperate two by two with rings (28 and 29) on an edge opposite to a first edge of the second part (2 b),
the seat being able to go from an unfolded position to a folded position, by folding the third part (2 c) into contact with the second part (2 b), and the assembly formed by the second part (2 b) and the third part (2 c) then being folded into contact with the first part (2 a),
the seat also being provided with other fastening straps (40,41), the assembly of the fastening straps (3, 40, 41) allowing to form at least three fastening points on the chair, the umbrella stroller or the rolling suitcase,
the seat also being provided with lateral safety straps (54), the seat also being provided with a harness allowing to maintain the child in the seat.
2. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the harness is a five-point harness.
3. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the harness is fastened in a repositionable manner.
4. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein each part (2 a, 2 b, 2 c) of the seat comprises two opposite faces, each made from different materials.
5. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the fastening straps (3, 40, 41, 46 a, 46 b, 54) are provided at their ends with fastening elements (4, 38, 39, 47 a, 47 b, 55).
6. Foldable seat according to claim 5, wherein a fastening element (4, 38, 39, 47 a, 47 b, 55) is a quick-release buckle.
7. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the fastening straps (3, 40, 41, 46 a, 46 b, 54) are fastened in a repositionable manner.
8. Foldable seat according to claim 1, comprising at least one housing (12 a,12 b) in the first part (2 a), intended to receive a shock-absorbing material and/or an inflatable cushion and/or a rigid or semi-rigid maintaining material.
9. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the first part (2 a) comprises at least one housing (12) intended to be a storage pouch.
10. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the second part (2 b) comprises at least one housing (13 a,13 b), intended to receive a shock-absorbing material and/or an inflatable cushion.
11. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the third part (2 c) comprises at least one housing, intended to place the unused straps.
12. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the lateral maintaining straps (54) are adjustable.
13. Foldable seat according to claim 1, wherein the lateral maintaining straps (54) are fastened in a repositionable manner.
14. Foldable seat according to claim 1, allowing to form a child carrier by the assembly of the fastening straps (3, 40, 41, 46 a, 46 b), characterised by the fact that it comprises:
a first part (2 a) intended to be in contact with the back of the child, a second part (2 b) intended to form the seat of the child carrier and a third part (2 c) intended to be in contact with the pelvis and the thighs of the wearer,
a fastening strap (3) cooperates with rings (36 and 37) by fastening elements (4) and is placed around the waist of the wearer,
other fastening straps (40,41) cooperate with other rings (30, 32, 31, 33) by fastening elements (38,39) and are placed at the shoulders and the back of the wearer like shoulder straps of a backpack, and
other straps (46 a,46 b) cooperate by fastening elements (47 a,47 b) and ensure the rigid connection and the security of the dorsal straps (40,41) and comfort for the wearer.
