Abstract

A baby carrier, according to the utility model, containing a carrying harness formed by the hip strap and at least two shoulder straps, and attachment means for the carrying harness to the child support portion, which has a torso support portion and a hip and thigh support portion. The attachment means for the carrying harness to the child support portion is the hip belt the central part of which is located in the tunnel, with the ends of the hip belt passing through the openings in the hip strap.

Description

  • The subject of the utility model is a baby carrier.
  • From the description of the invention to the international application number WO03/009728 a baby carrier is known, consisting of a carrier having a rear element, a front element and two side elements, the side elements being connected to the front element by length-adjustable side straps, so that said elements form a seat element in the form of skimpy pants. Additionally, each of the length-adjustable side straps may be alternatively provided with a fastener, for the possibility of a detachable connection to the front element, which may include suitable fasteners. The fasteners may be in the form of snap fasteners. From the upper rear part of the back element, two straps of adjustable length are extending, which are attached to the front element, preferably provided with fasteners that match the corresponding fasteners fixed on the front part, preferably in the form of snap fasteners.
  • From the description of the invention to the international application number WO 2005/025383 A2 a baby carrier is known, comprising a holding body with an upper edge, a lower edge and two opposing side edges. In addition, the carrier has a carrying harness system with a hip strap, two shoulder straps and a chest strap. The hip strap is suitable for embracing the hips of the wearer. It has an upper edge which is connected to the lower edge of the holding body such that the holding body is substantially centred above the hip strap. The upper end of each shoulder strap is connected to the upper corner of the holding body and the lower end of each shoulder strap is connected to the holding body below the upper end of the shoulder strap so that each shoulder strap forms a loop. The chest strap is slidably connected at each of its ends to the shoulder straps. In addition, the carrier has a head portion that includes an upper edge, a lower edge and two opposing side edges, the lower edge of the head portion being attached to the upper edge of the holding body such that the head portion is substantially centred above the holding body. In addition, fastening elements in the form of loops are attached to each upper corner of the head portion, whereas the fastening elements are held by detachable fasteners on the chest strap. This construction creates a carrier in which an infant or a toddler can be held between the holding body and the back or chest of the wearer, according to the selection, whereas the pressing force required for this purpose is generated by the respective closing and adjustment of the shoulder straps, hip strap and chest strap. However, a significant disadvantage of this carrier is that it cannot be adapted to the size of the infant or child held in the carrier. For example, newborns may sink or slide into the holding body, while the back area of larger toddlers is no longer sufficiently supported.
  • From the description of the invention to the European patent number PL/EP 2148594 a baby carrier is known with a holding system for holding an infant or toddler, wherein the holding system has a holding body shaped such that at least an area of the rear side of the child can be held and/or supported in it, and a harness system for attaching the holding system on the wearer. According to the invention, the holding body is shaped such that its height can be varied. Due to this height-adjustable possibility, the holding body can always be optimally adapted to the size of the infant or small child received in the carrier, so that infants from birth up to toddler age, i.e. up to approximately 20 kg, can be carried in the carrier. Preferably, the holding body is at least in sections a holding body in the form of a scarf or a pad, which is suitable for adapting to the shape of the body of that area of the back side of the infant or small child, relatively, which is received in the holding body or which is supported by it. To realize the possibility of adjusting the height of the holding body, the carrier has at least one extension element which can be positioned on the holding body such that the holding body is extended by the extension element in a vertical direction. The extension element is preferably also shaped as a scarf and/or pad so that it can also be adapted to the body of a small child. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the extension element can be detachably attached to the holding body. When a larger toddler is to be carried in the carrier, the extension element is positioned on the holding body so as to extend it. Otherwise, when the small child is still small, i.e. still a baby, the extension element is simply omitted, removed or folded. According to an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the extension element is formed in one piece with the holding body, whereas it can be represented between at least two positions, namely a first position in which it does not increase the height of the holding body, and a second position in which the extension element increases the height of the holding body. Preferably, the extension element can be folded from the first position to the second position and vice versa. Alternatively, the extension element may be rolled up and unrolled from the first position to the second position, or vice versa. Preferably, a fixing device is provided to fix the extension element in its first position. The fixing device may have, for example, a zip and/or snap fasteners and/or hook-and-loop fasteners. In the case of hook-and-loop fasteners that have hook surfaces and loop surfaces, the carrier preferably has covering means with which hook-and-loop fastener areas, in particular hook surfaces, can be covered. The covering means prevents the child from coining into contact with the interfering areas of the hook-and-loop fasteners, so that the child sits more comfortably in the holding body. In order to be able to adjust the shape of the holding body of the carrier even better to the size of the infant or toddler held in the carrier, and to increase both safety and wearing comfort, the carrier preferably comprises a device for reducing the seat. It can advantageously be positioned on the holding body so that the infant or toddler is held higher and thus in an elevated position in the holding body. Similarly to the holding body and the extension element, the seat reducing device is also designed as a scarf and/or pad at least in sections, so that it can adapt flexibly to the shape of the part of the body of the toddler held in it. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the seat reducing device may be detachably attached to the holding body and may be placed on the holding body as required or can be omitted. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the seat reducing device is formed in one piece with the holding body, whereas it is adjustable between at least two positions, namely a first position in which it reduces the seat of a small child in the holding body, and a second position in which it does not reduce the seat of a small child in the holding body. In the latter case, the seat reducing device is preferably shaped in a foldable form in such a way, that it can be stored in its second position, so that it does not impair the function of the carrier. In order to fold the seat reducing device, it preferably has predetermined folding lines, for example in the form of coloured stitched seams or the like, which assist the person folding it. For storing the seat reducing device, the holding body preferably has a bag, which preferably includes closing means for closing it. The harness system of the baby carrier according to the invention preferably has a shoulder strap device with shoulder straps. The shoulder strap device preferably has at least one adjusting device for changing the length of the shoulder strap so that the shoulder strap device can be adapted to the shape of the body and size of the wearer. For padding the shoulder zone, the shoulder strap device further preferably has shoulder pad sections, wherein the shoulder strap device preferably has at least one adjusting device for varying the effective position of the shoulder pad sections, thereby allowing the carrier to be worn comfortably by the wearer. The shoulder straps preferably have closure elements for opening and closing the shoulder straps, the closure elements being preferably secured by a safety device that prevents immediate release of the shoulder straps when the closure element is opened. In this way it can be ensured that the child held by the carrier does not immediately fall out of the carrier after releasing the closure elements on the shoulder straps. The safety device can, for example, be shaped in the form of a loop, namely in such a way that the closure elements of the shoulder straps remain suspended on the safety device shaped as a loop after they have been released. The shoulder straps are then released from the side loops on the holding body, but the child held by the carrier cannot fall out. Furthermore, the harness system of the baby carrier according to the invention preferably comprises a hip strap device with a hip strap. The hip strap device preferably comprises at least one closure element for opening and closing it, the at least one closure element being also preferably secured by a safety device of the type described above which prevents the hip strap from being immediately released or opened when the closure element is opened. Furthermore, the harness system of the baby carrier according to the invention preferably comprises a chest strap device with a chest strap which is preferably attached to the shoulder device. Thanks to the arrangement of the harness system with the shoulder strap device, the hip strap device and the chest strap device, both the safety and wearing comfort of the carrier according to the invention are optimised. Furthermore, the carrier according to the present invention preferably comprises a head portion which supports the head and/or neck of the child held in the carrier and/or serves as sun protection. Also, the head portion is preferably formed as a scarf and/or pad and is detachably or permanently connected to the holding body. Preferably, the head portion has fastening elements that can be positioned on the harness system to position the head portion in a predetermined manner, the fastening elements being shaped such that they can tighten or strap the head portion. The latter can be implemented, for example by using elastic bands or the like as fastening elements. Furthermore, retaining elements for receiving the fastening elements on the carrying harness system, in particular on the shoulder straps, are preferably provided. They are preferably formed on the shoulder straps and arranged movably in order to provide a possibility of placing the head portion in different positions and tightening it if necessary, wherein the retaining elements are configured such that they can be fixed selectively in a selected position on the carrying harness system or on the belt shoulder.
  • From descriptions of the European patent inventions number PL/EP 3 556 256 B1, and PL/EP 3 556 257 B1 baby carriers are known, comprising a carrying harness and a child support portion. Such carriers are suitable for carrying and transporting the child close to the caregiver's body. The carrying harness can wrap around the caregiver's body when the baby carrier is fitted and used to transport the baby. The carrying harness includes a hip strap and two shoulder straps. Each of the two shoulder straps has one fixed end that is permanently connected to the hip strap and a distal end that can be detachably fastened to the hip strap or the child support portion. The child support portion can be connected to a carrying harness. The child support portion may be suitably connected to the shoulder straps and to the hip strap at two opposite end parts of the child support portion. The child support portion may include a neck support portion, a torso support portion having an inner surface and an outer surface on opposite sides thereof, a hip support portion, and two thigh support portions. The child support portion, comprising the neck support portion, the torso support portion, the hip support portion and the thigh support portion, may include elastic materials that include, without limitation, fabrics, soft articles and the like. The hip support portion is placed between and is suitably connected to the hip strap and the torso support portion. The two thigh support portions are respectively placed transversely and opposite each other on the left and right sides of the hip support portion, and are respectively connected to the hip support portion. According to an exemplary construction, the two thigh support portions can respectively be angled relative to the hip support portion and can bend towards the waist strap. In addition, each thigh support portion may have a curved shape comprising two opposite conical ends and a centre which is thicker than the two conical ends, for example crescent-shaped. The centre of the thigh support portion may, for example, include a padding material to increase its thickness. In use, the hip support portion and the two thigh support portions are folded relative to the waist strap and may at least partially delimit the receiving space for seating the child. The thicker centre of each thigh support portion can provide adequate support for the thigh so that the baby can sit in a position with knees at the level of the hip joint, which can provide a healthier sitting position that can facilitate natural development of the hips. The torso support portion is foldable relative to the hip support portion and can provide support for the child's torso. The neck support portion may be folded over and connected to the upper portion of the torso support portion and may be positioned adjacent to the child's neck to provide aid in supporting the child's head. The baby carrier may include a hip support adjustment provided on the hip support portion. The hip support adjustment can be used to modify the width of the hip support portion according to the size and/or seating configuration of the child. The width of the hip support portion may, for example, be defined as the lateral distance between two thigh support portions. However, it should be noted that the width may be defined as any distance between any two points on the hip support portion along the lateral direction. According to an example of construction, the hip support adjustment may include an adjusting portion connected to the hip support portion. The adjusting portion may include a band, strap, belt, panel or the like. Examples of suitable materials for the adjusting portion may include elastic materials such as fabrics, elastic bands and the like. The adjusting portion may extend transversely along the width direction of the hip support portion and may be used to urge the hip support portion for lateral shortening, in order to reduce the width of the hip support portion. For example, the adjusting portion may have at least one distal end portion that can be used for attachment in a releasable way to the hip support portion at one or more predetermined connection points thereon to adjust the width of the hip support portion. The adjusting portion may, for example, have a fixed end fixedly attached to the hip support portion and a distal end portion that can be used for attachment in a releasable way to the hip support portion at a place spaced from the fixed end. The fixed end a of the adjusting portion may be fixedly attached to the hip support portion at a position adjacent to one of the two thigh support portions. In order to attach in a detachable manner the distal end part of the adjusting portion to the hip support portion, any respective fastening structure can be used. For example, the adjusting portion may have an opening spaced apart from the fixed end of the adjusting portion, and the hip support portion may have a button that can engage with and disengage from the opening of the adjusting portion. According to the exemplary construction, only one opening is provided in the adjusting portion. The adjusting portion may include a plurality of openings. Moreover, the distance between the fixed end of the adjusting portion and the opening may be less than the width of the hip support portion. The button is permanently attached to the hip support portion at a location spaced from the fixed end of the adjusting portion along the width direction of the hip support portion. The hip support adjustment may be in a fastened state when the distal end portion of the adjusting portion is attached to the hip support portion by engaging the button with the opening, and may be in an unfastened state when the distal end portion of the adjusting portion is disengaged from the hip support portion by detaching the button from the opening. When the hip support adjustment is in the fastened state, the hip support portion can be at least partially folded and laterally shortened, which reduces the width of the hip support portion. When the hip support adjustment is in the unfastened state, the hip support portion can be laterally extended, which increases the width of the hip support portion. Accordingly, the width of the hip support portion may be smaller when the hip support adjustment is in a fastened state than when the hip support adjustment is in an unfastened state. In this way, the hip support portion can be adjusted to accommodate children of different sizes and/or different seating configurations.
