Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide an armrest for a chair capable of receiving writing instruments as well as supporting the arm. To this end, the armrest for the chair of the present invention is an armrest for a chair provided on a seat part through a supporter and supporting a user's arm, which includes a receiving case for supporting the arm which is provided on the upper end of the supporter and elongated in a front-rear direction with respect to the seat part, and has an upper opening part; and an arm rest cover opening and closing the upper opening part and supporting the user's arm.

Description

    TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The present invention relates to a chair.
  • BACKGROUND ART
  • In general, a chair is one piece of furniture for a person to sit on and includes a backrest, a seat and a leg. Various types of these chairs have been invented depending on various conditions such as materials to be applied as well as usage and structures, and are widely used for students and office use.
  • FIG. 1 is a view schematically illustrating a conventional chair.
  • As illustrated in FIG. 1, the conventional chair includes a leg 1 supporting from the ground, a seat part 2 on which a user's hip is seated, a backrest 3 supporting the back, wheels 4 provided in the leg 1 to apply movability, and armrests 5 provided at both sides of the seat part to support user's arms. Here, the seat part may be formed of a seat plate, and may also include a tilting device capable of tilting the backrest on the bottom surface of the seat plate.
  • Among them, the armrest for the chair is a device for comfortably supporting the user's arm when the user sits on the chair, and as illustrated in FIG. 1, includes a supporter 6 vertically provided to both sides of the seat part 2, and a holder 7 made of a synthetic resin and the like while being installed horizontally in a front-rear direction on the upper end of the supporter 6.
  • However, there is a problem in that the conventional armrest for the chair is limited to the purpose of supporting the arm.
  • DISCLOSURE Technical Problem
  • An object of the present invention is to provide an armrest for a chair capable of receiving writing instruments as well as supporting the arm.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide an armrest for a chair capable of holding a cup.
  • Technical Solution
  • In order to achieve the object, an armrest for a chair according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is an armrest for a chair provided on a seat part through a supporter and supporting a user's arm, which includes a receiving case for supporting the arm which is provided on the upper end of the supporter and elongated in a front-rear direction with respect to the seat part, and has an upper opening part; and an arm rest cover opening and closing the upper opening part and supporting the user's arm.
  • The armrest for the chair may further include a cup holder provided between the upper end of the supporter and the receiving case for supporting the arm and holding a cup.
  • The armrest for the chair may further include a case rotating part which rotatably provides the receiving case for supporting the arm on the cup holder so that the cup holder is covered or exposed to the outside by the receiving case for supporting the arm.
  • The cup holder may include a cup holder body having a plate shape, and one or more cup seating holes which are formed in the cup holder body to seat the cup.
  • The cup holder body may have the same size and the same shape as the bottom surface of the receiving case for supporting the arm.
  • The case rotating part may include a vertical hinge shaft which is provided on one of the cup holder body and the receiving case for supporting the arm and vertically provided on the upper surface of the cup holder body; and a vertical hinge hole which is provided in the other one of the cup holder body and the receiving case for supporting the arm and rotatably inserted into the vertical hinge shaft.
  • The receiving case for supporting the arm may include one or more partition walls partitioning an inner space thereof.
  • The armrest for the chair according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention may further include a cover rotating part which rotatably provides the arm rest cover to the receiving case for supporting the arm; an opening elastic body which is provided on the cover rotating part and applies an elastic force in a direction in which the arm rest cover is opened; and a cover locking part which is provided between the receiving case for supporting the arm and the arm rest cover, so that the arm rest cover is in a closed or open state with respect to the upper opening part.
  • The cover locking part may include a locking member which is provided to protrude from the bottom surface of the arm rest cover and has a locking hole; a pinion which is rotatably provided in the receiving case for supporting the arm; a first rack which is engaged with the pinion and has an insertion end corresponding to the locking hole; a second rack which is engaged with the pinion and moves in an opposite direction to the first rack, and has a pressing end exposed to the outside of the receiving case for supporting the arm; and a locking elastic body which is provided between the pinion and the receiving case for supporting the arm and applies a rotational force in a direction in which the insertion end of the first rack is inserted into the locking hole.
  • The upper surface of the insertion end may have a shape that is gradually inclined downward in the inserted direction.
  • The armrest for the chair according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention may further include a cushion member provided on the upper surface of the arm rest cover.
  • Advantageous Effects
  • As described above, the armrest for the chair according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention may have the following effects.
  • According to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, since there is provided a technical configuration of including the receiving case for supporting the arm and the arm rest cover, the user can receive articles such as writing instruments and the like through the upper opening part of the receiving case for supporting the arm by opening the arm rest cover while supporting the arm using the arm rest cover, that is, receive the articles such as writing instruments in the armrest for the chair of the present invention closest to the user's hand. Accordingly, it is possible to not only rapidly and easily use the received articles, but also efficiently use a space on a desk even without providing a separate writing instrument shelf or writing instrument case for a narrow desk.
  • Further, according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, since there is provided a technical configuration of further including the cup holder, a cup can be held on the armrest for the chair of the present invention closest to the user's hand. Accordingly, it is possible to not only use quickly and easily the held cup and efficiently use a space on a desk even if the cup is not placed on a narrow desk.
  • Further, according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, since there is provided a technical configuration of further including the case rotating part, the cup holder may be covered or exposed to the outside by rotating the receiving case for supporting the arm. Accordingly, when the use of the cup holder is not required, the cup holder is positioned under the receiving case for supporting the arm, so as to efficiently use a space occupied by the armrest for the chair of the present invention.
  • Further, according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, since there is provided a technical configuration of further including partition walls portioning the inner space of the receiving case for supporting the arm, the articles such as writing instruments and the like may be separated stored, thereby more efficiently using the inner space of the receiving case for supporting the arm.
  • Further, according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, since there is provided a technical configuration of further including the cover rotating part, the opening elastic body, the cover locking part, the arm rest cover may be automatically opened by the elastic force of the opening elastic body only by manipulation of the cover locking part without loss of the arm rest cover, and the arm rest cover may be automatically locked by the cover locking part while the user applies an opposite force.
  • Further, according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, since there is provided a technical configuration of further including the cushion member, it is possible to provide a sufficient cushioning feeling when the user puts his or her arm on the arm rest cover.

However, the present invention may be implemented in various different forms and is not limited to the embodiments described herein.

  • FIG. 6 is a diagram of the armrest for the chair of FIG. 2 taken along line VI-VI and FIG. 7 is a view schematically illustrating a state in which a receiving case for supporting the arm is rotated so that a cup holder of the armrests for the chair of FIG. 2 is exposed to the outside.
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 7, an armrest 100 for a chair according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is an armrest for a chair provided on a seat part 2 through a supporter 6 and supporting a user's arm, and may include a receiving case 110 for supporting the arm and an arm rest cover 120. Hereinafter, respective components will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 2 to 7.
  • The receiving case 110 for supporting the arm is a component for not only supporting the load of the user's arm, but also receiving articles such as writing instruments. Such a receiving case 110 for supporting the arm, as illustrated in FIG. 2, may be provided on the upper end of the supporter 6, and may be elongated in a front-rear direction with respect to the seat part 2, and as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 6, may have an upper opening part 112 that communicates with an inner accommodation part 111.
  • In addition, as illustrated in FIG. 6, the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm may include one or more partition walls 113 that partition the inner accommodation part 111 as the inner space thereof. Accordingly, it is possible to separately store articles such as writing instruments through the one or more partition walls 113 to more efficiently use the inner accommodation part 111 of the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm.
  • The arm rest cover 120 is a component for not only supporting the user's arm, but also opening and closing the upper opening part 112 of the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm. As illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 5, the arm rest cover 120 may be rotatably provided in the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm.
  • Accordingly, since these components are provided, the user may receive articles such as writing instruments in the inner receiving part 111 through the upper opening part 112 of the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm by opening the arm rest cover 120 while supporting the arm using the arm rest cover 120, that is, receive the articles such as writing instruments in the armrest 100 for the chair of the present invention closest to the user's hand. Accordingly, it is possible to not only rapidly and easily use the received articles, but also efficiently use a space on a desk even without providing a separate writing instrument shelf or writing instrument case for a narrow desk.
  • In addition, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 7, the armrest 100 for the chair according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention may further include a cushion member 130 provided on the upper surface of the arm rest cover 120. Therefore, when the user places the arm on the arm rest cover 120, a sufficient cushioning feeling may be provided.
  • In addition, the armrest 100 for the chair according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention may further include a cup holder 140, as illustrated in FIGS. 2, 3, and 5 to 7. The cup holder 140 is a component for holding the cup. As illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the cup holder 140 may be provided between the upper end of the supporter 6 and the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm.
  • Accordingly, a cup (not illustrated) can be held on the armrest 100 for the chair of the present invention closest to the user's hand through the cup holder 140, so that the held cup may be not only used quickly and easily and a space on the desk may also be efficiently used even if the cup is not placed on the narrow desk.
  • For example, as illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the cup holder 140 may include a cup holder body 141 and one or more cup seating holes 142. The cup holder body 141 may have a plate shape, and the cup seating hole 142 may be formed in the cup holder body 141 and the cup may be seated in the form in which the cup is accommodated.
  • Furthermore, the cup holder body 141 may have the same size and the same shape as the bottom surface of the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm, as illustrated in FIGS. 2, 3 and 6.
  • In addition, as illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the armrest 100 for the chair according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention may further include a case rotating part 150. As illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the case rotating part 150 may rotatably provide the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm on the cup holder 140 so that the cup holder 140 is covered or exposed to the outside by the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm.
  • Therefore, the cup holder 140 may be covered or exposed to the outside by rotating the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm through the case rotating part 150 (see FIG. 7), and when the use of the cup holder 140 is not required, the cup holder 140 is positioned under the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm (see FIG. 2), so as to efficiently use a space occupied by the armrest 100 for the chair of the present invention.
  • For example, the case rotating part 150 may include a vertical hinge shaft 151 and a vertical hinge hole 152 as illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7. The vertical hinge shaft 151 is provided on the cup holder body 141 and may be vertically provided on the upper surface of the cup holder body 141, and the vertical hinge hole 152 is provided in the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm and may be rotatably inserted into the vertical hinge shaft 151. Of course, although not illustrated, the vertical hinge shaft may be provided in the receiving case for supporting the arm, and the vertical hinge hole may also be provided in the cup holder.
  • In addition, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 5, the armrest 100 for the chair according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention may further include a cover rotating part 160, an opening elastic body 170, and a cover locking part 180.
  • The cover rotating part 160 may rotatably provide the arm rest cover 120 to the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm, and the opening elastic body 170 may be provided on the cover rotating part 160, and may apply an elastic force in a direction in which the arm rest cover 120 is opened. The cover locking part 180 may be provided between the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm and the arm rest cover 120, and the arm rest cover 120 may be in a closed or open state with respect to the upper opening part 112.
  • Accordingly, the arm rest cover 120 may be automatically opened by the elastic force of the opening elastic body 170 only by manipulation of the cover locking part 180 without loss of the arm rest cover 120, and the arm rest cover 120 may be automatically locked by the cover locking part 180 while the user applies an opposite force.
  • For example, the cover locking part 180, as illustrated in FIG. 4, may include a locking member 181, a pinion 182, a first rack 183, a second rack 184, and an engaging elastic body 185. The locking member 181 may be provided to protrude from the bottom surface of the arm rest cover 120 and may have a locking hole 181 a. The pinion 182 may be rotatably provided in the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm, the first rack 183 may be engaged with the pinion 182 and have an insertion end 183 a corresponding to the locking hole 181 a, and the second rack 184 is engaged with the pinion 182 and moves in an opposite direction to the first rack 183, and may have a pressing end 184 a exposed to the outside of the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm. The locking elastic body 185 may be provided between the pinion 182 and the receiving case 110 for supporting the arm, and may apply a rotational force in a direction in which the insertion end 183 a of the first rack 183 is inserted into the locking hole 181 a. Furthermore, the upper surface of the insertion end 183 a may have a shape that is gradually inclined downward in the insertion direction of the insertion end 183 a, as illustrated in FIG. 4.
  • Accordingly, when the user presses a pressing end 184 a of the second rack 184, the insertion end 183 a of the first rack 183 that is moved in the opposite direction through the pinion 182 is removed from the locking hole 181 a and at the same time, the arm rest cover 120 may be opened by the elastic force of the opening elastic body 170. When the user closes the arm rest cover 120, the insertion end 183 a of the first rack 183 is retracted backward by the pressing force of the locking member 181, and then the locking member 181 further comes down so that the insertion end 183 a may be positioned in the engaging hole 181 a of the locking member 181. As such, when the insertion end 183 a is positioned in the locking hole 181 a, the insertion end 183 a of the first rack 183 is moved in the direction to be inserted into the locking hole 181 a by the elastic force of the locking elastic body 185, and at the same time, is caught in the locking hole 181 a so that the arm rest cover 120 may be maintained in a closed state.
  • Of course, although not illustrated, as another example, the cover locking part may also have a mechanism including a locking member provided on the bottom surface of the arm rest cover and having a locking hole, a hook provided rotatably on the receiving case for supporting the arm and corresponding to the locking hole, and a locking elastic body applying a rotational force in the direction in which the hook is inserted into the locking hole.
  • While the preferred exemplary embodiment of the present invention has been described in detail, the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto, and various modifications and improvements of those skilled in the art using a basic concept of the present invention defined in the appended claims also belong to the scope of the present invention.

  • The present invention relates to a chair, and has industrial applicability.

Claims (3)

1. An armrest for a chair provided on a seat part through a supporter and supporting a user's arm, comprising:
a receiving case for supporting the arm which is provided on the upper end of the supporter and elongated in a front-rear direction with respect to the seat part, and has an upper opening part; and
an arm rest cover opening and closing the upper opening part and supporting the user's arm.
2. The armrest for the chair of claim 1, further comprising:
a cup holder provided between the upper end of the supporter and the receiving case for supporting the arm and holding a cup.
3. The armrest for the chair of claim 1, further comprising:
a cushion member provided on the upper surface of the arm rest cover.
