1 Claim.
This invention relates to a combined case and display device especially I adaptable for merchandise of the self-sustaining character such as clothes pins and other self-gripping articles and has for the primary object the provision of a device of the above stated character which will conveniently accommodate a desired number of articles of merchandise arranged in a compact group which permits easy handling 1-) and carrying thereof or the storing or packing in large numbers within a carton or other container for shipment and when opened and suspended irom a support will neatly and attractively display each article of merchandise.
15 With these and other objects in View this invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
20 For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating a combined case and display device constructed in 25 accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 is an edge elevation illustrating the device positioned for display purposes.
Figure 3 is a front elevation illustrating the same.
30 Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral i indicates a combined case and display device especially adaptable for accommodating a desired number of clothes pins or similar articles of merchandise and when in a folded position,
35 as shown in Figure 1, will effectively protect the articles of merchandise and provide a compact device which can be easily handled or stored and when opened, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, will expose each article of merchandise to view in an attractive or artistic manner. The device is constructed from a single piece of material, as shown in Figures 1 and 3, preferably of cardboard or like material. The piece of material or blank 2 is folded upon itself to form spaced 5 attaching portions 3 which are disposed at right angles with respect to the longitudinal plane of the blank 2, and on which spring clothes pins may be arranged in groups. The blank 2 is weakened or provided with folding lines 4 between which are provided walls 5, 6, l and B and a closure flap 9, the edges of the latter being cut or shaped to form locking tongues ID to be inserted in slots 1 I formed in the wall 8 when the device is in a folded position. To display the articles of merchandise, the flap 9 is attached in any suitable way to a support with the other walls depending bringing in clear view each article of merchandise. To fold the device the wall 8 is folded over the wall 6 bringing the groups of articles of merchandise in superimposed relation and the flap 9 is then folded over the wall 8 and the tongues inserted in the slots H retaining the device in a compact folded position.
What is claimed is:
A foldable case for displaying removable clothes pins or like self-gripping articles, comprising a substantially rectangular sheet of foldablematerial having interengaging ends, said sheet having spaced transverse score lines and being bent upon certain of such score lines to provide right angularly disposed attaching portions to be engaged by removable self-gripping display articles, and being foldable upon its remaining fold lines to present a substantially rectangular case.
