Abstract
A disposable shoulder towel assembly includes a towel that is worn around a user's neck to shield the user. The towel has a collar portion that is wrapped around the user's neck. A plurality of fasteners is coupled to the collar portion for retaining the collar portion around the user's neck. A double sided adhesive strip is attached to the towel. The double sided adhesive strip releasably adheres to the user's neck when the towel is wrapped around the user's neck. A flap is coupled to the towel and the flap is tucked into a collar of the user's shirt when the towel is wrapped around the user's neck.

- The disclosure relates to towel devices and more particularly pertains to a new towel device for enhancing hygiene and shield a user by positioning the towel device on the user.
- The prior art relates to towel devices.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a towel that is worn around a user's neck. For example, this may be when the user is seated in a chair to shield the user while being shaved and allowing the shaver to wipe shaving tools on the towel assembly. The towel has a collar portion that is wrapped around the user's neck. A plurality of fasteners is coupled to the collar portion for retaining the collar portion around the user's neck. A double sided adhesive strip is attached to the towel. The double sided adhesive strip releasably adheres to the user's neck when the towel is wrapped around the user's neck. A flap is coupled to the towel and the flap is tucked into a collar of the user's shirt when the towel is wrapped around the user's neck.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 7 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new towel device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 7 , theshoulder towel assembly 10 generally comprises atowel 12 that is worn around a user'sneck 14. This may be when the user is seated in a chair or theassembly 10 may be used for similar purposes consistent with the structure as described below. Thus, thetowel 12 can shield the user from debris such as shaved whiskers, hair clippings, or the like. Thetowel 12 is comprised of a material conventionally known to be disposable, such as paper or the like, thereby facilitating thetowel 12 to be disposed of when thetowel 12 is removed from the user. Additionally, thetowel 12 is comprised of a fluid absorbent material thereby facilitating a hairstylist or barber to wipe their tools on thetowel 12. - The
towel 12 has atop surface 15, abottom surface 16 and aperimeter edge 17 extending therebetween,front side 18, aback side 19, a firstlateral side 20 and a secondlateral side 22. Each of thefront 18 and back 19 sides is concavely arcuate between each of the first 20 and second 22 lateral sides. Theback side 19 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14 has the firstlateral side 20 overlapping the secondlateral side 22 thereby facilitating thetowel 12 to cover the user's shoulders, chest and back. Thetowel 12 has acollar portion 21 that can be wrapped around the user'sneck 14. Thecollar portion 21 extends upwardly from thetop surface 15 of thetowel 12 and thecollar portion 21 is coextensive with theback side 19 of theperimeter edge 17. - A plurality of
fasteners 23 is provided and each of thefasteners 23 is coupled to the towel. Thefasteners 23 are positioned on thecollar portion 21 for securing thecollar portion 21 around the user'sneck 14. The plurality offasteners 23 is positioned on a first surface 24 of thecollar portion 21. Thefasteners 23 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed along the first surface. The plurality offasteners 23 includes a set offirst fasteners 25 and a set of second fasteners 26. Each of the first 25 and second 26 fasteners is positioned on the first surface 24 of thecollar portion 21. Selectable ones of thefirst fasteners 25 releasably engage selectable ones of the second fasteners 26 for retaining thecollar portion 21 in a closed loop of a selectable diameter to accommodate varying diameters of user's necks. The plurality offasteners 23 may comprise releasable fasteners that include, but not be limited to, buttons, snaps or other similar type of releasable fastener. - A double sided
adhesive strip 30 is attached to thetowel 12, the double sidedadhesive strip 30 is aligned with theback side 19 and the double sidedadhesive strip 30 is coextensive with theback side 19. The double sidedadhesive strip 30 releasably adheres to the user'sneck 14 when thetowel 12 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14. Additionally, the double sidedadhesive strip 30 is positioned on thebottom surface 16 of thetowel 12. The double sidedadhesive strip 30 may be comprised of a skin grade adhesive that can be removed from the user's skin without injuring the user. - A
flap 32 is coupled to thetowel 12, theflap 32 is aligned with theback side 19 and theflap 32 is coextensive with theback side 19. Theflap 32 is tucked into a collar of the user's shirt when thetowel 12 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14. In this way theflap 32 inhibits debris or things from entering the collar of the user's shirt. Theflap 32 is positioned on the bottom surface 26 of thetowel 12. - In an
alternative embodiment 34 as shown inFIGS. 4, 5 and 6 , thetowel 12 comprises aband 36 and a pair ofpanels 38 that is each coupled to and extends downwardly from theband 36. Theband 36 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14 having each of thepanels 38 covering the user's shoulders. Theband 36 has afirst end 40, asecond end 42 and anupper edge 44 extending therebetween, and theband 36 is elongated between the first 40 and second 42 ends. The band may have a width of approximately 5.0 inches and a length of approximately 10.0 inches. The double sidedadhesive strip 30 is positioned on afirst surface 46 of theband 36 and the double sidedadhesive strip 30 is aligned with and is coextensive with theupper edge 44 of theband 36. The double sidedadhesive strip 30 releasably adheres to the user when theband 36 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14. Theband 36 is positioned under the collar of the user's shirt when theband 36 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14 to inhibit the debris from entering the user's shirt. - Each of the
panels 38 has atop edge 48 and thetop edge 48 of each of thepanels 38 is coupled to thefirst surface 46 of theband 36. Moreover, thetop edge 48 of each of thepanels 38 is oriented to be collinear with theupper edge 44 of theband 36. Thetop edge 48 of each of thepanels 38 is aligned with the double sidedadhesive strip 30. Each of thepanels 38 is positioned on top of and extends along a respective one of the user's shoulders when theband 36 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14. - In use, as an example, the
towel 12 is positioned on top of a traditional barber's towel when the user is getting a shave. Thetowel 12 is positioned around the user'sneck 14 and theflap 32 is tucked beneath the collar of the user's shirt. Theback side 19 of thetowel 12 is wrapped around the user'sneck 14 and the double sidedadhesive strip 30 adhesively engages the user's skin. In this way the double sidedadhesive strip 30 and theflap 32 inhibit whiskers or hair clippings from passing through the collar of the user's shirt. The material of which thetowel 12 is constructed allows the barber or stylist to wipe their tools, such as a razor or scissors, on thetowel 12 for cleaning shaving cream or the like from the tools. In this way the tools can be cleaned, as well as facilitating fluids, such as blood from a cut on the user, to be wiped away and absorbed. Thetowel 12 is disposed of when thetowel 12 is removed from the user. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (10)
1. A disposable shoulder towel assembly comprising:
a towel being worn around a user's neck wherein said towel is configured to shield the user, said towel having a collar portion being configured to be wrapped around the user's neck;
a plurality of fasteners, each of said fasteners being coupled to said towel, said fasteners being positioned on said collar for securing said collar around the user's neck;
a double sided adhesive strip being attached to said towel wherein said double sided adhesive strip is configured to releasably adhere to the user's neck when said towel is wrapped around the user's neck; and
a flap being coupled to said towel, said flap being tucked into a collar of the user's shirt when said towel is wrapped around the user's neck wherein said flap is configured to inhibit things from entering the collar of the user's shirt.
2. The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said towel has a top surface, a bottom surface and a perimeter edge extending therebetween, said perimeter edge having a front side, a back side, a first lateral side and a second lateral side, each of said front and back sides being concavely arcuate between each of said first and second lateral sides, said back side being wrapped around the user's neck having said first lateral side overlapping said second lateral side thereby facilitating said towel to cover the user's shoulders, chest and back.
3. The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said collar portion extends upwardly from said top surface of said towel, said collar portion being coextensive with said back side of said perimeter edge.
4. The assembly according to claim 3 , wherein said plurality of fasteners is positioned on a first surface of said collar portion, said fasteners being spaced apart from each other and being distributed along said first surface, said plurality of fasteners includes a set of first fasteners and a set of second fasteners, each of said first and second fasteners being positioned on a first surface of said collar portion, selectable ones of said first fasteners releasably engaging selectable ones of said second fasteners for retaining said collar portion in a closed loop of a selectable diameter wherein said first and second fasteners are configured to accommodate varying diameters of user's necks.
5. The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said double sided adhesive strip is aligned with said back side of said perimeter edge of said towel, said double sided adhesive strip being coextensive with said back side, said double sided adhesive strip being positioned on said bottom surface of said towel.
6. The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said flap extends downwardly from said bottom surface of said towel, said flap being aligned with said back side of said perimeter edge of said towel, said flap being coextensive with said back side.
7. A disposable shoulder towel assembly comprising:
a towel being worn around a user's neck wherein said towel is configured to shield the user, said towel having a top surface, a bottom surface and a perimeter edge extending therebetween, said perimeter edge having a front side, a back side, a first lateral side and a second lateral side, each of said front and back sides being concavely arcuate between each of said first and second lateral sides, said back side being wrapped around the user's neck having said first lateral side overlapping said second lateral side thereby facilitating said towel to cover the user's shoulders, chest and back, said towel having a collar portion being configured to be wrapped around the user's neck, said collar portion extending upwardly from said top surface of said towel, said collar portion being coextensive with said back side of said perimeter edge;
a plurality of fasteners, each of said fasteners being coupled to said towel, said fasteners being positioned on said collar portion for securing said collar portion around the user's neck, said plurality of fasteners is positioned on a first surface of said collar portion, said fasteners being spaced apart from each other and being distributed along said first surface, said plurality of fasteners includes a set of first fasteners and a set of second fasteners, each of said first and second fasteners being positioned on a first surface of said collar portion, selectable ones of said first fasteners releasably engaging selectable ones of said second fasteners for retaining said collar portion in a closed loop of a selectable diameter wherein said first and second fasteners are configured to accommodate varying diameters of user's necks;
a double sided adhesive strip being attached to said towel, said double sided adhesive strip being aligned with said back side, said double sided adhesive strip being coextensive with said back side wherein said double sided adhesive strip is configured to releasably adhere to the user's neck when said towel is wrapped around the user's neck, said double sided adhesive strip being positioned on said bottom surface of said towel; and
a flap being coupled to said towel, said flap being aligned with said back side, said flap being coextensive with said back side, said flap being tucked into a collar of the user's shirt when said towel is wrapped around the user's neck wherein said flap is configured to inhibit things from entering the collar of the user's shirt, said flap being positioned on said bottom surface of said towel.
6. The assembly according to claim 5 , wherein said towel comprises a band and a pair of panels each being coupled to and extending downwardly from said band, said band being configured to be wrapped around the user's neck.
7. The assembly according to claim 6 , wherein said band has a first end, a second end and an upper edge extending therebetween, said band being elongated between said first and second ends, said double sided adhesive strip being positioned on a first surface of said band, said double sided adhesive strip being aligned with and being coextensive with said upper edge of said band wherein said double sided adhesive strip is configured to releasably adhere to the user when said band is wrapped around the user's neck.
8. The assembly according to claim 7 , wherein each of said panels has a top edge, said top edge of each of said panels being coupled to said first surface of said band, said top edge of each of said panels being oriented to be collinear with said upper edge of said band, said top edge of each of said panels being aligned with said double sided adhesive strip, each of said panels being positioned on top of and extending along a respective one of the user's shoulders when said band is wrapped around the user's neck.
