Abstract
A kind of pants has a U-shaped opening across an adjacent edge of two connecting leg portions, a pair of front suspenders arranged at a front of the pants as each suspender connecting to a front passage, a pair or rear suspenders arranged at a rear of the pants as each suspender connecting to a rear passage, a water proof anti-splash cover partially sewn on the pants and covering a front end of the U-shaped opening, a displaceable covering piece arranged under the U-shaped opening with a pair of bands passing through the front passages to be fixed on the front suspenders and with a pair of strips passing through the rear passages and a pair of guiding rings to be fixed on the rear suspenders. Thereby the displaceable covering piece allows those who have to sit on a wheelchair most of the time to perform excretion right on the wheelchair with their pants on.
Description
- The present invention relates to a garment, particularly to patient pants that allow those who have to stay on a wheelchair most of the time to directly perform excretion thereon.
- As population aging becomes more serious, illnesses that cause paralysis or physically disabilities are more common. Excretion has also become a problem for those who have to lie on beds or move with wheelchairs most of the time. To reduce their families and caregivers burdens, some wheelchairs and nursing beds have excretion devices.
FIG. 1A shows a conventional wheelchair withexcretion device 90. It has an opening 92 arranged on aseat 91 and acontainer 93 disposed under the opening 92.FIG. 1B illustrates another wheelchair withexcretion device 90 invented by the inventor. Thewheelchair 90 further includes awashing device 94 for cleansing.FIG. 1C is a nursing bed forexcretion 100 also invented by the inventor. Thenursing bed 100 has anopening 102 on amattress 101 and acontainer 103 disposed under themattress 101; moreover, it has awashing device 104 as well. - Although the
wheelchairs 90 and thenursing bed 100 disclosed have excretion devices for their users, it is still inconvenient since the users have to take off their pants before excreting; and it gets more embarrassing and even self-esteem hurting when the scene comes to outdoors. - Conventional pants have a waist portion connecting two leg portions and a zipper. However, the length of the zipper is not long enough to form an opening under the pants. Therefore, such pants are not suitable for those who have to lie on beds or sit on wheelchairs most of the time in view of convenient excretion.
- The present invention aims to resolve the problem of direct excretion performing on a nursing bed or a wheelchair for its users with their pants on.
- To achieve the objects mentioned above, the present invention comprises a pair of pants having a waist portion linking with two symmetrical leg portions and a U-shaped opening perpendicularly arranged across an adjacent edge of the leg portions; a pair of front suspenders arranged at a front of the waist portion with each suspender having a front positioning hole and a pair of rear suspenders arranged at a rear of the waist portion with each suspender having a rear positioning hole and passing through a guiding ring; two front passages arranged correspondingly for the front suspenders to individually pass through, each passage having an upper end sewn on the pants and a lower end arranged near the U-shaped opening without sewing, making it partially detachable; two rear passages sewn on the pants correspondingly for the rear suspenders to individually pass through; an anti-splash cover in an arc shape having a first end sewn on the pants and a second end arranged at a front of the U-shaped opening without sewing, making it partially detachable; a displaceable covering piece arranged under the U-shaped opening correspondingly, having a front end thereof connecting to a pair of bands, each band having a free end individually passing through the front passage on the same side and fixed on the front suspender on the same side, and a rear end thereof connecting to a pair of strips, each strip having a free end individually passing through the rear passage and guiding ring on the same side and then being upwardly positioned to each side; and two pads made of soft materials with ventilation sewn on a position corresponding to buttocks of human body and arranged across the covering piece, forming a space between the pads.
- Thereby when pulling the strips backwards, the covering piece would displace backwards and uncover the U-shaped opening for a user to perform excretion; when loosening the strips, the covering piece would displace back to an original position and cover the U-shaped opening.
- In short, the present invention allows those who have difficulties in moving, usually patients and elders, to perform excretion with more conveniences and without relying on others' helps, thus regain some self-esteem for them and reduce burdens on their caregivers as well. Also, such design helps with better environment hygiene.

The binder clips 80 are fixed on apositioning piece 73 by a pair of hook-and-loop fasteners 731 or twocorresponding buttonholes 732 to be arranged at corresponding sides of thepants 10; eachbinder clip 80 further includes a triangularresilient body 81 with a throughhole 82 arranged on a flat bottom surface thereof for thestrip 72 on the same side to pass through and to be positioned thereby, and twohandles 83 correspondingly arranged at an outer side of theresilient body 81 to loosen the spring force on thestrip 72 and form anopening 811 when thehandles 83 are compressed. - All in all, the operation and features of the present invention are illustrated as following
- First of all,
FIG. 3 disclosed a normal status of the present invention where theanti-splash cover 60 is arranged at the front of thepants 10 and thecovering piece 70 is arranged under thepants 10. Theanti-splash cover 60 has itsfirst end 61 sewn on thepants 10 and itssecond end 62 placed in the front of theU-shaped opening 13. Due to the waterproof materials, theanti-splash cover 60 helps preventing from wet pants; plus, the arc shape assists in guiding the urine downwards. Further referring toFIG. 3A , thewings 64 at corresponding sides allows theanti-splash cover 60 to be detached from thebands 71 and allows thesecond end 62 to be cleaned when needed, ensuring personal hygiene. - Then referring to
FIGS. 4-6 , the coveringpiece 70 normally is arranged under theU-shaped opening 13. When a user needs to excrete, simply pulling up the free ends 721 of thestrips 72 to displace thecovering piece 70 and uncover theU-shaped opening 13 as shown inFIG. 5 . The free ends 721 are then fixedly positioned by theresilient body 81 of the binder clips 80 to hold the position of thecovering piece 70. After excretion, compressing thehandles 83 of the binder clips 80 to form anopening 811 and loosen the spring force holding thestrips 72 for thecovering piece 70 to be pulled back to its original position by thebands 71. InFIG. 6 , due to the design of thepads 14, a space S is formed under the coveringpiece 70 so that it can be displaced smoothly. - Lastly, the present invention is designed to be compatibly in use together with wheelchairs and nursing beds shown in
FIGS. 1A-1C which also allows excretion thereon. Thus,FIG. 7 illustrates a practical application of the present invention being in use together with awheelchair 90 for excretion. When a user is sitting on aseat 91 thereof, theU-shaped opening 13 is disposed right on aopening 92 and acontainer 93 for excretion conveniently. With theanti-splash cover 60 and thecovering piece 70, the user's privacy is taken cared; a caregiver can simply pull thecovering piece 70 for excretion without carrying the user to the toilet.FIG. 8 illustrates another practical application of the present invention with anursing bed 100 which provides the same function in the same operation as those in thewheelchair 90. - Although particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
