Description
- This application claims priority to Taiwan application 105209923, filed Jun. 30, 2016, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference for all purposes.
- The present disclosure relates to a waistband and more particularly to a poromeric waistband.
- When a person's waist is injured or the person is required to stand for a long duration, a waistband is often used for increasing the support of the waist and protecting the waist from further injury. Therefore, the waistband is used for providing a protection and support effect.
- However, conventional waistbands are mostly made of woven fibers with poor elasticity and support. They can only provide a very weak effect for the users. Fibers have poor air permeability. Therefore, after a long duration of usage or under high temperatures, the waist will sweat and feel very hot to cause discomfort to the users.
- A poromeric waistband embodying aspects of the present invention comprises a waistband composed of an elastic colloid sheet and a poromeric supporting portion protrudingly disposed on a side of the waistband. The poromeric supporting portion comprises a plurality of supporting ribs disposed roughly perpendicular to the waistband and ventilating passages formed between the supporting ribs. The waistband further comprises a fastening unit disposed on two ends of the waistband respectively, and the waistband is formed as a loop by overlapping the two fastening units on the two ends.
- The colloid of the waistband of the poromeric waistband embodying aspects of the present invention provides an excellent elasticity for a good wrapping effect for the users. The supporting ribs of the poromeric supporting portion provide an anti-slipping and supporting effect. The ventilating passages between the supporting ribs provide an air circulation effect for maintaining the users' comfort even under long duration of usage and high temperatures.
- Aspects of the present invention will become more fully understood by reference to the following detailed description thereof when read in conjunction with the attached drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of a poromeric waistband of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a front view of the preferred embodiment of the poromeric waistband of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a back view of the preferred embodiment of the poromeric waistband of the present invention; and -
FIG. 4 is a front view of another preferred embodiment of the poromeric waistband of the present invention. - Corresponding reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the drawings.
- Please refer to
FIGS. 1 and 2 .FIGS. 1 and 2 are perspective and front views of a preferred embodiment of a poromeric waistband, or belt, of the present invention respectively. The poromeric waistband mainly comprises awaistband 10 and afastening unit 30. - The
waistband 10 is composed of an elastic colloid sheet. The colloid is made of latex, silicone rubber, rubber or other elastic colloids. Please toFIG. 3 .FIG. 3 is a back view of the preferred embodiment of the poromeric waistband of the present invention. The colloid is mixed withfunctional powder 20. Thefunctional powder 20 isbamboo charcoal powder 21 or other kinds of functional powder such as far infrared powder and antibacterial powder. A poromeric supportingportion 11 is protrudingly disposed on a side of thewaistband 10. The poromeric supportingportion 11 comprises a plurality of supportingribs 111 disposed roughly perpendicular to thewaistband 10. The supportingribs 111 are serrated, wavy or straight in shape.Ventilating passages 112 are formed between the supportingribs 111. A plurality ofventilation holes 12 is penetratingly disposed on thewaistband 10. In an embodiment, the colloid sheet comprises a gel. - The
fastening unit 30 is composed of, for example, hook and loop fastener 31 (e.g., Velcro). A portion of the hook andloop fastener 31 is disposed on one end of thewaistband 10 while a mating portion is disposed on the other end. Thewaistband 10 is formed as a loop by overlapping the twofastening units 30 on the two ends. - In order to further explain the structures and characteristics of the present invention, as well as the technical means and expected effects; the ways of usage are specifically described hereunder for in-depth understanding.
- Please refer to
FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 . When using thewaistband 10, simply surround the waist of a user with thewaistband 10. Then, join thefastening units 30 on the two ends of thewaistband 10 together to make thefastener 31 to stick and fasten together so that the user's waist is securely surrounded by thewaistband 10. The colloid of thewaistband 10 provides an excellent elasticity for a good wrapping effect. The supportingribs 111 of the poromeric supportingportion 11 provide an anti-slipping and supporting effect. Theventilating passages 112 between the supportingribs 111 provide a vertical air circulation effect, and theventilation holes 12 allow the air current to penetrate through thewaistband 10 for maintaining the user's comfort even under long duration of usage and high temperatures. The colloid is mixed with thefunctional powder 20 for allowing thewaistband 10 to generate far infrared or antibacterial effect. Therefore, the function of thewaistband 10 is enhanced or the lifespan is prolonged. - Please refer to
FIG. 4 .FIG. 4 is a front view of another preferred embodiment of the poromeric waistband of the present invention. An auxiliary supportingsheet 13 is extended from upper and lower sides of thewaistband 10 respectively. The poromeric supportingportion 11 is also extended on the auxiliary supportingsheets 13. Theauxiliary supporting sheets 13 provide more wrapping area for the waist for enhancing the supporting effect. The poromeric supportingportion 11 also provides supporting and ventilating effects on the auxiliary supportingsheets 13. - Note that the specifications relating to the above embodiments should be construed as exemplary rather than as limitative of the present invention, with many variations and modifications being readily attainable by a person of average skill in the art without departing from the spirit or scope thereof as defined by the appended claims and their legal equivalents.
