The purpose of the invention contained, and from'which they are vend'ed has been to supply a simple attachment means in the form ci' a holder applied to the window, door, or

lcover of the box, or receptacle, for containing the cookies, cakes, etc., the said holder consisting of a readily attachable and detachable guide in which is mounted a slidable tray. The

frame holder is designed so that the said tray may readily slide thereon, the tray providing a display container for the articles to be sold, and additionally,

providing a container located at the windowed cover so that notwithstanding the depletion of the contents `of the -n'iain box or receptacle for l thearticles to be sold, so long as the tray remains full, the display 4of the main box or receptacle with the full tray gives the impression that the main box is full of the articles, cookies,

or whatever'they may be. In other words, the

display feature of the'invention is useful because it gives the impression to the pur chaser that the main container or box 'is full of fresh cookies, cakes, etc., notwithstanding v that the contents of the said receptacle may have bee greatly depleted. With the foregoing in view, ity will be seen that the holder B and the tray C when mounted on and combined with the cover 2 of the display receptacle A afford a display feature for the cakes, and cookies, or crackers, or whatever may be the articles to ube vended from the receptacle A. l I'he display feature gives the impression that the receptacle is full of its usual contents and this impression will continue so long as the contents of the tray C do not have to be used for making ordinary purchases.vv Should the'contents of the receptacle A become so depleted that upon a sale, theI salesman has to use some of the contents of the tray C then it is quite easy to pull the tray out, after the manner shown in dotted lines in Figure 3 .and add some of the contents. or all of the contents, to make up the required number of articles to be the subject The constructionof the cover 2f involving'the window 3 and the spring engaging parts 9 is conventional, and constitutes no part of my invention save as combined with the holder B and the tray C and the detail features ofthese parts.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, iszl. In ar'display receptacle of the class described, in combination, a main receptacle, a

cover mounted thereon and provided with a windowed display opening, a display tray slidably mounted upon said cover at said windowed opening and normally occupying the space beneath said opening, a holder for said tray detachably connected with said cover and open at one side I to permit the slidable shifting movement of the tray rwhen the cover is in open position, and

` manipulatable holding means on the cover for detachably supporting thev window and tray holder on the cover.

2. `In a display receptacle ofthe class described, a main box for containing a large quantity of cakes, cookiesjor the like, a cover for said box, having a, windowed opening, a tray holder detachably molmted on the cover beneath said windowed display opening thereof, said holder comprisinga frame including guide flanges on which the tray is supported for sliding movement. said holder being Vequipped with suspension flanges abutting with the window in said win' dowed opening, together with manipulative holding means enagageably cooperating with said suspension flanges to attach the holder and window to the cover.

VIn' a. display receptacle ofthe class described, a main box for containing a large quantity of cakes, cookies, or the like, a cover for said box, havinga windowed opening, a-tray holder detachably mounted on thecover beneath said windowed display opening thereof, said hold- 1I er comprising a frame including guide ilanges on ment, said holder equipped with suspension flanges abutting with the window in said windowed opening, together with manipulative en- 20 gaging members' cooperating'with said suspension flanges to attach the holder to the cover, said engaging members l clamping the suspension flanges against vthe window of said windowed opening and clamping the window againstthe body of the cover so that said engaging members hold both the window and the tray holder4 in place on the cover, said manipulative members being located beneath' the cover and accessible upon moving the latter toward open position.

In a display receptacle of the class described, in combination, a main box or receptacle for containing a considerable quantity of cakes, cookies, or the like, a frame member-'at the top of said receptacle, a cover hinged to the frame member, said cover embodying an open frame-like body, a glass window seated against the underside of said frame-like body of the cover, an attachable unit adapted to be emplaced in supported relation to thecover and including a tray holder which the tray is suppOIted for sliding moveconsisting of a frame-likebody having members at its upper edge to engage the underside of the glass window near the edges of the lframe-like body of the cover, said holder also comprising a frame for holding a display tray beneathl the window of the cover, said frame being open at one of its sides to permit sliding of the tray into and out of the holder so that the contents of the tray, normally supported beneath the window of the cover, may be rendered accessible by the slld- 50 ingmovement of the tray to facilitate vendltion of said contents, and detachable engaging members carried by the cover cooperating with the frame of the holder and with the glass window of the cover to maintain these parts in proper position on the cover, said engaging members being manipulative to facilitate the placing in position of the holder in supported relation to the cover.

In a display receptacle of the class described, in combination, a main receptacle, a cover mounted thereon and provided with a windowed display opening, `a transparent window member engaged with the underside of the cover at said display opening, a tray holder beneath the window member and cover and comprising a frame including guide members to slidably support a tray in the frame and also including suspension flanges engaged with the under-side of the window member, engaging members on the cover de tachably cooperating "with the .said holder and I0 window member to attach these parts to the under-side of the cover immediately. adjacent tothe window opening, `and a tray slidably mounted in the frame of the holder, the said holder being open at one side hereof so as to permit the pulling 7| outwardly of the tray from the frame of the holder for vendition or replenishment ot the contents ot the tray.
