Description
- Some aspects generally relate to (and are not limited to) a cover assembly for a face-shield bracket assembly and a safety hat (and method therefor).
- A safety hat is a type of helmet predominantly used in workplace environments such as industrial or construction sites to protect the head of the user from injury due to falling objects, impact with other objects, debris, rain, and/or electric shock. Suspension bands (positioned inside the helmet) spread the helmet's weight and the force of any impact over the top of the head of the user. Some helmet shells have a mid-line reinforcement ridge to improve impact resistance. Unfortunately, known existing safety hats do not prevent debris from striking the eye of the user (resulting in injury and/or lost work productivity).
- In view of the foregoing, it will be appreciated that there exists a need to mitigate (at least in part) problems associated with safety hats. After much study of the known systems and methods along with experimentation, an understanding of the problem and its solution has been identified and is articulated below.
- In order to mitigate, at least in part, the problem(s) identified with existing systems and/or methods for safety hats, there is provided (in accordance with an aspect) an apparatus for a face-shield bracket assembly. The face-shield bracket assembly is configured to selectively position a safety visor between a visor deployed position and a visor retracted position. The face-shield bracket assembly is installable to a safety hat. The safety hat has a front section and also has a hat brim. The hat brim extends from the front section. The hat brim is configured to shield, at least in part, the eyes of a user from debris. The apparatus includes (and is not limited to) a cover assembly. The cover assembly includes a connector assembly. The connector assembly is configured to connect the cover assembly to the face-shield bracket assembly.
- In order to mitigate, at least in part, the problem(s) identified above, in accordance with an aspect, there is provided a method for an apparatus including a safety hat. The safety hat has a front section and also has a hat brim. The hat brim extends from the front section. The hat brim is configured to shield the eyes of the user from debris. A safety visor is used with a face-shield bracket assembly. The face-shield bracket assembly is configured to selectively position the safety visor between a visor deployed position and a visor retracted position. The face-shield bracket assembly is installable to the safety hat that is usable with a cover assembly. The method includes (and is not limited to) connecting the cover assembly to the face-shield bracket assembly.
- In order to mitigate, at least in part, the problem(s) identified above, in accordance with an aspect, there is provided other aspects as identified in the claims.
