Abstract
The no-tie neck wrap is a flexible fabric which contains a piece of elastic used to form around the neck securely without the need to tie. The no-tie neck wrap is draped around the back of the neck, with ends extended outward then crossed on the chest and released to keep in place. The no-tie neck wrap is composed of two rectangular pieces of fabric with elastic placed in between the two pieces. The elastic is cut shorter than the fabric length used. It is then fastened to the mid-end points on both ends of one piece of fabric. The second piece of fabric is placed on top of the first piece with elastic to create a sandwich effect and is stitched around the edge of the rectangular shaped body. Once closed the fabric creates two small bunches of fabric on both ends to act as a locking mechanism.
Description
- This application claims the benefit of provisional patent application Ser. No. 61/730,056 Filed 2012 Nov. 27 by the present inventors

- 1. Field
- This invention relates generally to articles of clothing and more specifically to such articles which a person can wear to keep warm in winter, maintain some form of fashion, and have easy access to applying and removal of the item of clothing.
- 2. Prior Art
- In cold weather climates people want to keep warm and be fashionable at the same time. They want something that doesn't require much handling and can be put on and taken off in reasonable haste and for it to stay where it was placed on one's person.
- Many times the item of choice is a scarf lacks structure and form. To achieve the goal of fixing it to one's person, the individual must wrap the material around one's neck and secure the item through a series of tucks or knots to achieve secureness of the item.
- This results in bulky ends of the scarf that are tucked into ones clothing in order to secure the ends of the scarf or to tie up the ends into a multitude of knots that can vary. Knotted scarves can be a choking hazard that can prove fatal in some instances. This invention addresses these concerns.
- The invention disclosed is an easily secured scarf without fasteners. The scarf consists of a multi-layer scarf body which internally has a concealed elastic running along the longitudinal direction of the scarf. The actions performed by the user of crossing both ends of the scarf extending and then releasing the crossed ends. The user has secured the scarf around their neck without need for any fasteners of any type. Removal of the scarf is simple with the absence of fasteners. Removal of the item is a pulling motion away from the individual wearer's neck while holding any part of the scarf.
- The invention solves the difficulties of securing a scarf around a person's neck, without the need for fasteners, knots or tucking into the user clothing to maintain the fully covered neck. This is achieved in the following manner:
- user must cross both ends of the scarf in front of their neck, between the collar to chest region of the body
extend both ends of the No Tie Neck Wrap out in front of themselves
releasing the extended ends of the No Tie Neck Wrap, allowing said No Tie Neck Wrap to contract and become secure on itself. - The additional convenience is the ease of removal. There are no knots to undo, and no buttons or hooks to unfasten and remove. A simple pulling motion on any part of the No Tie Neck Wrap with one's hand is all that is required to remove the item from ones neck.
- This is great for those who are challenged in areas of dexterity with their hands and/or arms.
- There are two referenced embodiments in these descriptions. One that is termed “non-fringe end” and the alternative construction that is termed “fringe end”.
