Abstract

An educational religious card game and method of playing an educational religious card game with words found in the Bible of people, places, and things, inscribed on the cards. One of these said cards are placed upon a plastic adjustable headband that is worn by a player on his or her forehead. Each player guesses their card by asking yes or no questions. The process and method of playing this religious educational card game serves as a teaching device for biblical knowledge, and biblical vocabulary. A scoring method is based upon each player receiving a certain amount of chips. When a player correctly guesses their card in the allotted time, they may discard one of their chips. The first player to discard all of their chips wins the game.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a game that when played will increase Biblical knowledge, vocabulary and perhaps the faith of all who participate. There exist many card games both for a player to play individually and against others, as well as in groups or pairs. There also exist many games for enhancing learning. A unique feature of this religious card game is that it consists of adjustable plastic headbands worn on the foreheads of each player with a single card attached to them, inscribed with people, places and things found in the Bible. This feature makes it fun and exciting to learn about the Bible. More specifically the present invention relates to a method of learning about people, places and things found in the Bible in a fun unique way. This invention serves as a tool for learning which increases vocabulary development as well as Bible knowledge. This in turn will increase ones faith as well as the bonding of relationships for whoever plays it. It has been said that a family that prays together stays together. I would like to think that it can also be said that a family that plays together stays together. Therefore, it is the contention of this inventor and the purpose of this invention to bring groups of people together in the form of family, friends or other small groups to learn about the Bible in a fun unique way, increasing ones Bible knowledge, vocabulary and their faith in the Bible and of God.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is directed to a card game that satisfies the need for an educational tool that educates players about the Bible, and therefore increasing their faith in God in a fun and unique way. Sunday school teachers are always looking for new, creative, fun ways to educate their students about God's word, the Bible. There have been many religiously oriented board and card games produced over the years. Recently the popularity of such games has risen dramatically as families and Christian groups search for an alternative to television and the often bad messages that these families and Christian groups are subject to. As an alternative, many families and Christian groups have opted for spending their time playing religious or faith oriented board and card games. These games, although useful, lack the excitement, range, effectiveness and educational value possessed by the present invention. The game comprises of plastic adjustable headbands used along with the educational biblical word cards to make it more fun, unique and different from any religious card games. Also included in the game are a one minute sand timer and playing chips used as a scoring method. Therefore, a need exists for an educational card game played in a unique fun way to increase ones Bible vocabulary, Bible knowledge, and ones faith in God. As a result, bonding families and small groups together in a faith based way all the while by increasing their Bible knowledge.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Figure One is a layout of the principle components of the game.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Referring to the drawing, Figure One, it can be seen that the game components comprise of a stack of cards 1, plastic adjustable headbands 2, chips 3, and a one minute sand timer 4. Stack of cards 1 further comprise individual cards 5, each with a biblical word consisted of a person, place or thing found in the Bible inscribed on it. The number of players consists of 2 or more players. The object of the game is to be the first player to discard all of his chips 3 by guessing their biblical word card 5. The age level is for ages 7-adult.
  • Rules of the game are as follows:
  • 1. The youngest player always goes first. 2. Players can only ask yes or no questions when trying to guess their biblical word card 5. 3. Players are only allowed one minute per turn, and must use the one minute sand timer 4 when it is their turn to guess their biblical word card 5. 4. If a player can not guess their biblical word card 5 within the one minute, then their turn is over and the next player on the left goes. 5. If a player guesses their biblical word card 5 before their one minute is up, then they may take another biblical word card 5 from the stack of cards 1 and place it onto their plastic adjustable headband 2, and begin asking yes or no questions again until their time is up. 6. If a player gives up guessing their biblical word card 5 during their turn, then they can choose to replace it with another biblical word card 5. However, by doing this, they must take another chip 3 from the game moderator. 7. Each time a player guesses their biblical word card 5 they can discard one of their chips 3. 8. The first player to discard all of their chips 3 is the winner.
  • The process of playing the game is as follows:
  • To begin the game, one player is chosen to be the moderator and supervise the game. The moderator mixes up the stack of cards 1, and places them face down in the center of the playing area along with the one minute sand timer 4. The moderator then gives to each player, including himself, a plastic adjustable headband 2, one biblical word card 5, and 3 chips 3. Each player then puts the plastic adjustable headband 2 around their head. Next, each player then puts the biblical word card 5 onto his plastic adjustable headband without looking at the side with the biblical word inscribed on it. The biblical word card 5 will be placed onto the plastic adjustable headbands 2 with the side of the biblical word facing out to the other players. Next, the youngest player goes first by setting the one minute sand timer 4. He then begins asking yes or no questions trying to get clues as to what his biblical word card 5 is. If he guesses his biblical word card 5 before his time is up then he may discard one of his chips 3, and draw another biblical word card 5 from the stack of cards 1 and begin asking yes or no questions again until his time runs out. Each time a biblical word card 5 is guessed by a player, a chip 3 may be discarded. The first person to discard all of their chips is the winner. When a player runs out of time, his turn is over and the play passes to the player on the left. If a player gives up he can choose to exchange his biblical word card for another card, but he must take another chip by doing so.
