IMPROVEMENT IN GAME APPARATUS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 201,398, dated March 19, 1878; application filed February 8, 1878.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CONRAD EUSTEN, of Syracuse, New York, have made an invention consisting of a certain Apparatus or Device for Playing Games of Chance, of which the following is a specification:

w The construction is as follows, referring to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a vertical section through the center, and Fig. 2 a plan, with top removed, above dotted line a: a: of Fig. 1.

The exterior of the device may be of any pyramidal, conical, or other form, and be ornamented on the exterior as the taste of the maker dictates. I prefer to give it the form shown, which is that of a decanter. The interior of the neck a, and as far down as the dotted line w w, is hollow. From thence downward the interior device consists of a channeled block or case, A, through which a series of holes, b, are made around the center core B, that projects upward with its conical apex 0 directly under the center of the opening in the neck a above. The holes 12 extend down nearly to the bottom, and thence turn outward through the sides of said block A.

This device is affixed to a base or tray, d,

that projects beyond it all around, with a rim projecting up from its outer edge opposite the lower openings of the holes b, leaving a space between them, which I divide by radial partitions into separate outlets or boxes d, one for each of said openings or channels I). A stopper, 8, may be applied, like a decanterstopper, to keep the dust, 850., from the interior when not in use.

To use this game device, the stopper is removed, and a glass or other suitable ball is dropped in through the neck onto the apex of the cone 0, from which it is deflected into one of the holes I), through which it passes out into one of the boxes or outlets d, which are all numbered to represent different values, and thus determine the sum of the cast.

Having thus fully described my new game device and its operation, I claim A game apparatus consisting of a channeled block or case, A, provided with a vertical entrance at the top, a core, B, having its upper end in conical form, the apex 0 thereof being vertically concentric with said entrance, and having the channels b and outlets d, substantially as and for the purpose described.
