1 Claim.
This invention relates to a game device.
It is an object of the present invention to provide in a game device a distributing device for balls which are to be dropped upon a circular tray divided into the desired number of sections whereby to nullify entirely the elements of skill and to eilectively distribute the balls over the numbered circular tray upon the balls being released from a retaining member supported centrally above the tray.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a game device including a ball distributing disc which is of simple construction, easy to operate, inexpensive to manufacture, convenient to use and efficient in operation.
For other objects and for a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a top plan view of the game device embodying the features of the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the game device.
Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view, in elevation, of the game device taken on line 3--3 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 is an enlarged top plan view of the top of the device.
Figs. 5 and 6 are respectively transverse crosssectional views taken respectively on line 5--5' and 66 of Fig. 2.
Fig. '7 is a plan view of the ball receiver plate which is adjustably connected within the device to, at the desired moment, release simul taneously all of the balls supported within the same so that they may be dropped through holes within it.
Referring now to the figures, I represents a circular tray which has surface sections marked with different numbers. About the periphery of the tray is an upstanding band or wall |2 connected to the tray by nails l3 whereby to retain the ball distributed to the tray. The top surface of the tray slopes radially outwardly from the center so that the balls will roll outwardly toward the band l2.
Extending upwardly from the center of the tray Ill is a post l which is secured to the tray I!) by a nut I6 within a bottom recess H. The post I5 has a shoulder I8 for supporting a washer l9 and a cup-like casing having a distributing disc 2| having sets of three holes 22 circumferentially spaced about the disc 2|. Above each set of three holes is an elongated recess 23 into which the ball, as indicated at 24, drops to have access with the holes 22. The disc 2| has a sleeve 25 secured to it and extending upwardly to con fine the balls upon the top of the disc 2|.
J ournalled upon the upper end of the member H3 is a rotating guide member 26 having guide portions 2'! and a top portion or body member 28 with holes 29 therein circumferentially spaced about the center of the portion 28 which provides a ball holding disc for receiving the balls 24.
A plate 3| is journalled on the member 26 below the holes 29 to temporarily support the balls 24 within the holes. This plate has a handle 32 which projects upwardly through a slot 33 in the portion 28. This closure or retaining plate 3| has a plurality of circumferentially spaced holes 34 adapted to be aligned with the holes 29 as the plate 3| is turned so as to release the balls 24. These balls will engage the top of the portion 2? of the member 26 and will be guided outwardly and dropped upon a concave surface 35 of the member 2| whereby they will be directed into the recesses 23 and the holes 22 and dropped upon the top surface I of the tray II].
To play the game the balls are dropped into the holes 29. These balls may be made either of metal or porcelain and are about one half inch in diameter and will have a number on the ball to identify the player. The maximum number of players are determined by the number of holes in the portion 28. The balls are held in position in the holes by the closure plate 3| which has the corresponding holes 34. When the plate is shifted, the balls are released and they fall upon the disc 2| and through the holes thereof and upon the tray Ill. The distributing disc and the tray can be rotated upon the vertical support |5.
While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claim.
I claim:
In a ball distributing game, a horizontally disposed circular tray having markings on its upper surface, an annular wall extending around the outer periphery of said tray and secured thereto, the upper surface of said tray sloping outwardly and downwardly from the center thereof. a vertically disposed post having its lower end secured to said tray, a shoulder arranged on said post adjacent the top thereof, a horizontally disposed disc supported on said shoulder, there being a plurality of spaced holes arranged in 3 said disc, said disc having a plurality of spaced elongated recesses communicating with said holes, a sleeve secured to the outer periphery of said disc and projecting upwardly therefrom, a guide member arranged within said sleeve and supported on said post above said disc, the diameter of said guide member being less than the diameter of said sleeve whereby a space is provided for the passage therethrough of balls, a horizontally disposed plate journaled at its center around the upper end of said post for rotation about a vertical axis and provided with a plurality of spaced holes arranged in a circle about its center, a horizontally disposed body member supported above said plate and provided with a plurality of spaced holes for receiving balls therein, the holes in said body memher being arranged in a circle having the same diameter as the circle in which the holes in the plate are arranged, there being an arcuate slot arranged in said body member, and a vertically disposed handle projecting through said slot and having its lower end secured to said plate.
