Abstract

A headband sewn to a pouch that contains the hair away from the face and neck without added due pressure or restraint from using additional hair accessories such as pins, barrettes, rubber bands, hard headbands or scunchies, for the wearer to wear either at home, going out to run errands, exercise, to work as a hair restraint or attend an evening out. Made with any light breathable fabric material, cut into two rectangular pieces of different proportion and two pieces of elastic of different proportion all sewn together. The wearer pulls it over the head and around the neck, removing the hair from under the pouch and letting it rest over the pouch. The headband is then pulled and placed over the top of the head, then gathering all the hair as if doing a ponytail and twirling as if doing a bun and placing the hair in the pouch loosely, containing all the hair away from the face and neck of the wearer.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The headband hair pouch accessory relates to a hair wrap or headband made of fabric only it is both, co-joined together to be one piece. It keeps the hair tucked away from the face and neck when the wearer decides to wear it either to stay at home, exercise, go out to run errands, as a work head covering or to go out for the evening. It can be worn in a decorative manner to make a fashion statement or professionally worn in any work environment such as hospitals, food facilities, beauty salons, dance schools and professional offices that require the hair to be covered and contained. Many professional environment require the usage of caps or hats which does not contain the length of the hair and it holds a lot of heat, causing the wearer to perspire. The headband hair pouch accessory allows the hair and scalp to breathe while containing the hair.
The following U.S. patents referenced to the headband hair pouch accessory disclose similar head coverings but their purpose is to create a ponytail, bun or chignon as well as being limited to wearing it in the confinement of the home, whereas this present invention is to eliminate the need for ponytail or hair constriction not having to use any hairpins, rubber band or any other tight restriction to the hair and scalp and it is not limited to the confinement of the home. With the present invention the hair is tucked in a small pouch leaving the hair loose which can be decorated with rhinestones, beads, sequin and other decorative material. As well as with the headband hair pouch accessory not one size fits all due to the different hair length therefore several sizes of small, medium, large, extra small or extra large can be designed thus providing the different cut size of material for that purpose. Also the headband hair pouch is cut into two pieces of fabric material in a rectangular shape of different proportion with a piece of elastic of different proportion inserted in each of the pieces but only on one side of the larger piece.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The headband hair pouch accessory is designed to keep hair away from the face and neck while containing loose strands without the use of pins, barrettes, hard headbands, rubber band or scrunchies. The headband hair pouch accessory is a head band with a pouch. It can be adorned with beads, rhinestones and any other decorative material to enhance the appearance but to also add some variety and make different styles. The idea is to do it with very light breathable fabrics such as cotton, lace, nylon, etc. The idea is also extremely simple and cost effective. With one yard of fabric, at least ten pieces can be produced. The design requires two pieces of fabric of different proportion and two pieces of elastic of different proportion.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The band fabric (FIG. 1.1) and elastic (FIG. 1.2) can be cut in different lengths and widths depending on the size of the head, tightness and design trying to achieve, with the elastic being shorter than the fabric. The band fabric is folded in half tucking the hem in lengthwise, then being sewn on both side (FIG. 1.3) to create a flat strip allowing the center to open and insert the elastic (FIG. 1.4), ruffling the fabric (FIG. 1.5) due to the difference in length of the fabric and elastic.
The pouch fabric (FIG. 2.6) and elastic (FIG. 2.7) can be cut in different lengths and widths depending on the size, style and design trying to achieve, with the elastic being shorter than the fabric. The hems are sewn individually along the length of each side of the pouch fabric (FIG. 2.8), allowing a small space on both side where the elastic is inserted (FIG. 2.9) on one side only, causing the fabric to ruffle (FIG. 2.10) due to the shortness of the elastic while the other side remains straight (FIG. 2.11) to be folded in the center, creating a double fold sewn together (FIG. 2.12) which allows both sides to be even in length (FIG. 2.13).
The fabric is then turned inside out gathering two corners on one side of the pouch with one end of the band to be sewn together, then repeated on the other side (FIG. 3), completing the headband hair pouch accessory, turned to its wearable form showing side view (FIG. 4), front view (FIG. 5) and back view (FIG. 6).

Claims

1. A headband hair pouch accessory combination which comprises:

a headband sewn to a pouch made of very light breathable fabric material such as cotton, lace, silk, nylon or any other type of light fabric material matching or otherwise cut into two pieces in a rectangular shape of different proportion with a piece of elastic of different proportion inserted in each of the pieces to keep hair away from the face and neck instead of using multiple various other hair accessories to achieve the same result while minimizing the stress level of pulling and tightness to the hair and scalp and both the headband and the pouch can be adorned with gems, rhinestones, beads or any other decorative items.

2. The headband hair pouch accessory of claim 1, wherein the elastic is sewn only on the front end of the pouch to expend and allow the hair to be tucked in.

3. The headband hair pouch accessory of claim 1, wherein the back of the pouch has no elastic to alleviate any pressure or pulling at the base hairline by simply resting at the base hairline or nap of the neck.

4. The headband hair pouch accessory of claim 1, wherein the headband is sewn to the pouch by joining the ends of the headband and the ends of the pouch together.
