Description
- The subject matter of the invention is the method of independent control of the line that is used for lifting and lowering a load—hereinafter referred to as: the load lifting/lowering line—or the main line in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages which are driven by an endless or a movable line that rotates or moves in the same direction, which can be optional according to the needs. Each cableway carriage contains a drum which is controlled independently in superimposed time while the operation of each cableway carriage is independent from that of the other carriages in the system of cableway carriages. The method of independent drum control in individual cableway carriages in superimposed time by means of an endless or movable line can mainly be used in the field of special devices with an energy accumulator, which are called RELAZ. The invention can also be widely applied in the field of long distance cableways, curved cableways, and when several cableway carriages are used on one cableway or more cableways, which is suitable for load transport in the fields of forest management, agriculture, civil engineering and cableway transport in general.
- Existing well-known standard methods of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line drum control do not allow an effective operation of more carriages in superimposed time on the skyline or more skylines, or on one cableway or several cableways which are driven by an endless line or by a movable line. The existing well-known standard solutions in the area of drum control do not allow an independent use of the main operation of the drum, the brake mode of the drum and the reverse mode of the drum in connection with unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line from/onto the drum in more carriages, in such a way that each carriage in the system of cableway carriages is driven by one and the same endless line without the change in rotation direction or movement in the, endless line system. The existing well-known methods of drum control for active unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line do not allow the independence of each cableway carriage from the other cableway carriages which are driven by an endless line or a movable line.
- Today, there exists a solution according to PP 37-2088, which is called Mechanical Recuperation Cableway Device with Added Sectional Counterweight and Gravitational Cableway Carriage. In this technical solution, the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in the carriage is controlled by one endless line; however, this does not enable effective independent control of the drums in individual parts of the carriage during endless line rotation or movement in one direction in the endless cableway system.
- This solution and all the existing methods of drum control do not allow effective control of the drum for unwinding and winding of the line load lifting/lowering line or the main line, and do not facilitate effective operation of several cableway carriages on a cableway in superimposed time, in such a way that the carriages are driven by an endless line or by a movable line, which moves in the same direction. This direction can be optional according to the needs, while each carriage in the cableway carriage system works effectively and independently from the other carriages in the system of cableway carriages.
- The subject matter of the invention is a method for controlling the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each cableway carriage in a system of cableway carriages. These cableway carriages operate on one or several skylines or on one cableway or several cableways, are driven independently and their functions are supported by the motion of an endless or movable line. The endless line in an endless cableway system or the movable line in a cableway system rotates or moves only in one direction, which can be arbitrary, according to the needs. One endless line or a movable line, which rotates or moves in a cableway system in the same direction according to the needs, provides the drive of drums by means of a disconnectable sheave in all cableway carriages through which the endless line or the movable line passes. The disconnectable sheave is provided with a parabolic groove.
- The rotation of the disconnectable sheave, always rotating in the direction of the endless or movable line rotation or movement, is in each cableway carriage in a cableway carriage system actuated by means of the endless line or the movable line. The main operation of the cable drum, the neutral operation of the carriage or the brake mode of the drum, and the reverse mode of the drum in each cableway carriage in the cableway carriage system are actuated by the rotation or movement of the endless or movable line, which rotates or moves only in one direction, arbitrary according to the requirements. The main operation of the drum in the cableway carriage is actuated when the drum of the load lifting/lowering line, or the main line is rotating in the same direction as is the direction of the disconnectable sheave rotation and the direction of the rotation of the endless line in the endless cableway system or the movable line in the cableway system. The brake mode of the drum in the cableway carriage is achieved when the endless line in the endless cableway system or the movable line in the cableway system rotates or moves, and the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line drum is locked. The brake mode of the drum is realized during the neutral mode of the carriage. The reverse mode of the drum in the cableway carriage is achieved when the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line drum rotates in the opposite direction to the direction of the disconnectable sheave rotation and also to the direction of the endless line rotation in the endless cableway system or the movable line rotation in the cableway system. In each carriage in the system of cableway carriages the main operation of the cable drum, the brake mode of the drum or the neutral mode of the carriage and the reverse mode of the drum are realized according to the needs, independently from the other carriages. In this way, effective operation of several cableway carriages in the system of cableway carriages in superimposed time is assured by means of the endless or the movable line, which rotates or moves always in one direction, which may be arbitrary according to the requirements.
- The main operation, the brake mode and the reverse mode of the drum control the unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line from/onto the drum in each cableway carriage independently in the entire system of cableway carriages. The system of cableway carriages is controlled by the movement of the endless or the movable line that moves in one direction, which can be arbitrary according to the needs in the cableway system. The unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line depends on the direction in which the load lifting/lowering line or the main line is wound on the drum. During the neutral operation of the carriage or the brake mode of the drum, unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line from/onto the drum in the carriage is not performed. The endless cableway system or the cableway system with a movable line is tensioned to the necessary assembly tension using an appropriate means.
- As for the type of construction, the drum for unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line can be manufactured as any device for any line which serves for unwinding and winding or it can also be a winding device, a winch, and the like.
- According to the invention, the advantage of this method is that unwinding of the line from the drum in the carriage enables active drawing out of the free end of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line from the carriage. Each carriage in the system of cableway carriages can perform the function of active drawing out of the free end of the line load lifting/lowering line or the main line from the carriage.
- As for the type of construction, the cableway carriage can be a carriage for a forest cableway or a carriage for any other cableway.
- The independent drum control in the system of cableway carriages in superimposed time is achieved by the rotation or movement of the endless line in the endless cableway system or by the movement of the movable line in the cableway system. When using the endless line or the movable line for independent control of drums in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages, the endless line or the movable line in the drive aggregate passes through a sheave or sheaves or through an appropriately adapted winding device.
- In on of the versions, when using the endless line or the movable line for independent control of drums in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages, the movable line in the drive aggregate passes through a winding device or devices. In another version, the movable line in the line system moves so that it unwinds from one winding device and winds onto the second winding device and/or the other way round. The guidance and drive of the endless line or the movable line can be realized by various means, according to the needs.
- The above mentioned facts indicate that the method of independent control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages in superimposed time by means of an endless line or a movable line in a cableway system, which rotates or moves, in one direction, which can be arbitrary according to the needs, has a wide application. The possibilities for the use of this method do not limit the range of the utilization of the invention.
- The attached drawings illustrate the method for the control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages. These carriages are driven by an endless line or a movable line which rotates or moves in the same direction which can be arbitrary according to the needs, so that in each carriage the drum is independently controlled in superimposed time, while the operation of each cableway carriage does not depend on the operation of the other carriages in the system of cableway carriages.
- FIG. 1—illustrates the method of independent control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages,
- FIG. 2—illustrates the method of independent control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages on one skyline,
- FIG. 3—illustrates the method of independent control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages on several skylines.

FIG. 1 illustrates the way of controlling thedrum 6 of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages. The system of cableway carriages is driven by theendless line 3 or by themovable line 3 which rotates or moves in the cableway system in the same direction, which can be optional depending on the needs. The rotation or movement of theendless line 3 or the movement of themovable line 3 controls thedrum 6 independently in each cableway carriage, so that the operation of each cableway carriage does not depend on the operation of the other cableway carriages which operate in the system of cableway carriages. The main operation of thedrum 6 is realized in such a way that the disconnectable sheave 9 in the carriages is driven by theendless line 3 or themovable line 3 in the same direction as is the direction of rotation or movement of theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or themovable line 3 in the cableway system. When themain drum 6 operation is necessary in the carriages in the system of cableway carriages, theclutch 2 is locked and the braking coupling device or thebrake drum 6 of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line. In this case thedrum 6 rotates in the same direction as is the direction of rotation of the disconnectable sheave 9 and theendless line 3 or themovable line 3 which assures the main operation of thedrum 6. The brake mode of the drum is used in such a way that the disconnectable sheave 9 in the carriages is driven by the endless ormovable line 3 in the same direction as is the direction of the rotation or movement of theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system, or in the direction of the movement of themovable line 3 in the cableway system. In the carriages in the system of cableway carriages, where the brake mode is required, theclutch 2 and the braking coupling device orbrake 14 is unlocked and the braking device orbrake 13 is locked. This provides for rotary movement of theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or the movement of themovable line 3 in the cableway system while the torque from the disconnectable sheave 9 is not transmitted to thedrum 6 of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line. In this case thedrum 6 is locked without motion by means of the braking coupling device orbrake 13 and the disconnectable sheave 9 rotates in the same direction as is the direction of rotation or movement of the endless or movable line, which brings thedrum 6 to the brake mode. The reverse mode of thedrum 6 is realized as follows: the disconnectable sheave 9 in the carriages is driven by means of theendless line 3 or themovable line 3 in the same direction as is the direction of the rotation or movement of theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or themovable line 3 in the cableway system. In the carriages of the system of cableway carriages, where the reverse mode of thedrum 6 is required, theclutch 2 is unlocked, the braking coupling device or thebrake 14 is locked and the braking coupling device or thebrake 13 is unlocked. This sets thereverse mode 27 of thedrum 6 while the torque from the disconnectable sheave 9 is transmitted in the opposite direction of rotation to thedrum 6. In this case, thedrum 6 of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line rotates in the opposite direction to that of the disconnectable sheave 9, and this provides for the reverse mode of thedrum 6. During the control of thedrum 6 of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line according to the needs in each carriage in the system of cableways carriages thebrake 15 of the skyline is locked. If there is a need for a carriage movement on theskyline 1 during thedrum 6 control, thebrake 15 of the skyline is unlocked. The control of thedrum 6 by means of the main operation of thedrum 6, the brake mode and the reverse mode of thedrum 6 actuate the unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 which is wound on thedrum 6 in the required direction. -
FIG. 2 illustrates the method for controlling thedrum 6 of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 in each carriage in the system of the cableway carriages on oneskyline 1, or on one cableway. In this case theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or themovable line 3 in the cableway system rotates or moves anticlockwise while the first cableway carriage 7 a, according to the invention, is operating in the neutral mode of the carriage or in the brake mode of thecable drum 6 a. The brake mode of thedrum 6 a is actuated by unlocking theclutch 2 a, the braking coupling device or thebrake 14 a and by locking the braking coupling device or thebrake 13 a, which provides for the rotary movement of theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or the movement of the movable line in the cableway system while the torque from the disconnectable sheave 9 a is not transmitted to thedrum 6 a. During the brake mode of thedrum 6, the unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line is not actuated. Simultaneously, in superimposed time, the main operation of thedrum 6 b is actuated in the cableway carriage 7 b which is in an arbitrary distance from the cableway carriage 7 a. The main operation of thedrum 6 b is accomplished by locking theclutch 2 b and unlocking the braking coupling device or thebrake drum 6 b in the same direction. During the main operation of thedrum 6 b, the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 b is unwound. Simultaneously, in superimposed time, the reverse mode of thedrum 6 c is actuated in another cableway carriage 7 c which is in an arbitrary distance from the cableway carriage 7 b. The reverse mode of thedrum 6 c is accomplished by locking the braking coupling device orbrake 14 c, by unlocking theclutch 2 c and by unlocking the braking coupling device or brake 13 c while the torque from the disconnectable sheave 9 c is transmitted in the opposite direction of rotation to thecable drum 6 c. In this case, during the reverse mode of thedrum 6 c the winding of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 c is actuated. During this way of drum control of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each carriage of the system of cableway carriages thebrakes skyline 1 are locked. In this way, several cableway carriages operating in superimposed time on one skyline or on one cableway can be controlled by means of the endless or the movable line which does not have to change the direction of rotation or movement in the cableway system. -
FIG. 3 illustrates the way of controlling thedrum 6 of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 in each carriage of the cableway carriage system according to this invention on several skylines or on several cableways or on several skylines on one cableway. Theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or themovable line 3 in the cableway system rotates or moves anticlockwise and drives the drums in the entire cableway carriage system. During this rotation or movement of theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or themovable line 3 in the cableway system, the main operation of thedrum 6 a is performed in the cableway carriage 7 a, which is locked on theskyline 1 a, and this actuates the unwinding of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 a. In the cableway carriage 7 b, which is locked on theskyline 1 a, the reverse operation of thedrum 6 b actuates the winding of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 b. On theother skyline 1 b, in the carriage 7 c, the neutral operation of the carriage or the brake mode of thedrum 6 c is actuated, which assures the rotation or movement of theendless line 3 in the endless cableway system or the movement of themovable line 3 in the cableway system, but the unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line is not performed. In the cableway carriage 7 d, which is locked on theskyline 1 b, the reverse operation of thedrum 6 d is actuated, which causes the winding up of the load lifting/lowering line or themain line 5 d. In this way, according to this invention, thedrums endless line 3 in the endless line in the endless cableway system or the direction of movement of themovable line 3 in the cableway system does not change. - The advantage of the independent control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in every carriage in the system of cableway carriages by means of the endless line or the movable line which rotates or moves always in one direction, optional according to the requirements, is effective work of several carriages in superimposed time.
- The main operation, the brake mode and the reverse mode of the drum can be provided independently according to the requirements in each cableway carriage in the cableway carriage system during the rotation or movement of the endless line or the movement of the movable line in one direction which is optional according to the needs. In this case, the reverse system for the endless line in a driving aggregate can be left out and the direction of the rotation or movement of the endless line in the endless cableway system assuring the unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line from/onto the drum in the carriage does not require any change.
- The advantage of this method according to this invention is that the movement of the endless or the movement of the movable line in the cableway system controls the unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line independently in all cableway carriages on one or more cableways. Another advantage is that the unwinding of the line from the drum in the carriage allows active drawing out of the free end of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line from the carriage. Every carriage in the system of the cableway carriages has the function of active drawing out of the free end of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line from the carriage.
- The advantage of this method according to the invention is that the rotation or movement of the endless line or the movement of the movable line in the cableway system controls the dragging, lifting or lowering of the load independently in all carriages on one or more cableways.
- Each cableway carriage works effectively and independently from the other cableway carriages in the system of cableway carriages. Therefore, the direction of the drum rotation and thereby the independent control of unwinding and winding of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line which is wound on the drum is effectively controlled in each cableway carriage in the cableway carriage system according to the needs.
- The advantage of this method according to the invention is that it can be used to control more cableway carriages on one or more cableways. This method can also be used on long cableways or curved cableways.
- This invention can be effectively used for dragging, lifting, lowering, skidding or transport of wood, trees, construction material or other materials and loads in general. The invention can be effectively used in the area of forest cableways or in the area of other cable installations or in the area of lifting installations in general.
- For reasons given above, the method of independent control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each cableway carriage in the cableway carriage system in superimposed time by means of an endless or movable line which rotates or moves in one direction, optional according to the needs, can have many applications. The ways of use of this method do not limit the range of the utilization of the subject matter of this invention.
